Couple Notes for you: 1) They don't really call them twitchers, they just are twitch streamers or streamers 2) People see streamers as a source of entertainment. The same way that you have people who subscribe to your patreon for content, other people donate and sub to support their streamers to continue to make their content 3) Streamers are more personalities now rather than only being technically good at it. There are lots of skills that you probably have from standup of engaging an audience that are the same for streaming but just through the chat. Obviously it is harder to read since there is no face to go off of but it is the same enjoyment of getting reactions from your crowd
David, I think the reason why you can't understand competitive gaming is you just haven't tried getting into any game at a competitive level. You mentioned being good at Smash, but being good among friends is different than among people who play to win. I know you said you just didn't care, but I think a part of that is because you don't understand the nuances of what competitive players do and what makes them so damn good. I was basically you but in reverse for physical sports. I never really understood that same feeling for physical sports until I really got into volleyball and table tennis back in college. To an extent, I understood the competitive nature of sports due to my experience of gaming LANs, but I never understood the subtle things until I tried learning the sport myself. I think just gaining that understanding helps you understand a lot and appreciate competitive gaming as a whole.
I was watching this thinking “don’t encourage the crazy David”, the Christina Grimmie situation was.. was hard to watch as a viewer. Also a viewer who was around 16 when this happened. She got shot in the face infront of fans and family at a meet and greet. Then he killed himself. It doesn’t stop there, Meg Turney and Gavin Free (Roster Teeth fam) - nearly kidnapped at gun point in their own home. Philly D has had break ins. H3H3 get “prank” swatted “often” (like what) Tana Monguae (though her choices are.. choices) recently went away to Colorado and had to leave because people were threatening her and her group’s safety. Trisha Paytas - you again can dislike her - so many stories of safety issues, break ins, gun points, like what. Being a CZcamsr / successful person now is SCARY. Fans know ZERO boundaries. Like; if you don’t know not to rock up at Jenna Marbles house - you suck. And back to the pod. Love y’all ✨💞✨

it is unentertaining because you don't understand the game. it's like watching ground fights in UFC. if you don't know wtf is going on, you'll just take it as rolling on the ground. for overwatch, there is a lot of teamwork that goes into it. there is no way you're going to win on your own. seeing how the team work together to win is really interesting.
