A storage locker for a month or two is relatively cheap. Move whatever matters to you over gradually, just write off the possible loss of furniture and things of that sort that you cannot move discreetly.

I moved to California from the Washington DC area abiut 3-4 years ago. I have been “in the hobby” since 3rd edition 40k started..about 1999. I’ve taken hiatuses as people do but play competitive age of Sigmar to this day. I’ve amassed a sizable collection. But since selling my house and moving into a SoCal apartment, I had to put a lot of it in storage.
1-2 years ago, my entire collection was stolen out of my storage unit. The theirs picked the lock, pilfered, and left. 8000 points of painted orks, 3000 points of painted and converted kaharadron overlords, 3000 points of painted spiderfang grots, 1000s of points of Nurgle (my main) unbuilt. Gone without a trace.
I’ve still not gotten over it, and I think about it nearly every day. The time, the thought, the love, sweat, and labor I put into it. Poof. It’s the most draining and defeating moment of my life.
I would love to hear an update to this story. I have fantasized about confronting the thief more times then I could count.
Take pics of the army and the police report to your insurance. Have them reimburse you and buy your models back for what he paid for them. The cops will circle jerk and give you nothing back. They can't do anything with a burner account.
That’s partially true, but it depends on how the burner was created. I work in law enforcement, and the cost of THAT MANY models would easily put this into Grand Theft/Felony Larceny, not to mention the Domestic Violence component. With a crime of that degree, investigators might determine it worth subpoenaing the company/transaction records to identify the email/phone number/IP address used to create the burner and follow from there.

@@apocalypsenow6559 going the insurance route is preferred regardless. That’s a much more likely method of reimbursement than hoping police get your stuff back, but having an insurance company send a subrogation letter to the police records office and requesting a copy of their report will put a little pressure on the agency. That combined with the possibility of easy work like sending a subpoena for info from an ISP might result in the girlfriend’s name getting dropped as the seller.
Personally, I would have just told the cops the back door was locked and secured. We know who took the army.
Very good advice. We all should have a digital written and image record of our assets on file for insurance anyway. This goes for renters and home owners.
Just reading the title, before I even watch... which I am..... I can say that if I faced my army at a tournament, I would be forcibly repossessing it, and I would love to see the look on his face when the thief realizes who he stole from and what he now has to confront in public.

Yeah, but the guy playing your army probably isn't the thief. It's the guy who bought your army off ebay from the thief. And you then trying to steal the army from him would lead to him calling the cops on you.
all you would do is look like a dumbass. Pay attention to the story. It was not the kids fault. He bought it from a burner account and just thought he had a cool new army to play with.

In my time listening to this channel I've heard about 3 stolen armies now (4 if we include the one episode where a guys wife and her friend went mental and destroyed his departed friends Imperial Guard army) but the fact that Black Templars/Templar successors were 2 out of the 3 armies stolen (the other being Grey Knights if memory serves) is kinda funny to me.

I was also on Concerta as a kid. Never had the migranes or ticks, but it definitely affected my energy and personality. I never noticed until I was off it consistently for a while when I went to college (kept forgetting to take my adhd meds, ironically). Tried to get back on it and felt like a zombie whenever took it. Just my anecdotal experience with the drug, plus, i don't remember the effects being that severe for me as a kid, but I understand why the guy in the first story felt like shit.
The story about the mean girlfriend is exactly like who my best friend was with in college. Holy crap, she sucked. And she was around for years. One day my buddy opened his nightstand to show me the new White Dwarf and I was like "what the fuck is this?" And he said "yeah, I have to hide my White Dwarfs away, like porn in some drawer, so that SHE doesn't see it." I hated that chick.
A mates GF helped him to carry his figures out the house for a game. She was miffed that she was losing him for the day and she made the “mistake” of tipping the main box causing it to unbalance (lots of metal figs etc.). End result, the box fell out of her hands and destroyed a huge part of his eldar army…
Similar thing happened 3 times over the years.

I also had a lonely childhood after a divorce. I'm almost 40 now, but it occurred to me that I really needed help a few years ago when I was working overnights and didn't see another living person, never mind interacting with one, for almost 4 years.

My wife and I have a mutual friend (female) who’s one of the “doesn’t like most women” crowd. She’s actually really awesome, although recently permanently disabled.
Due to some circumstances with her past and childhood, she doesn’t trust women off the jump. The twist being she doesn’t trust most men either!
When she was dating my best friend, she started off very polite and distant but warmed to us over time. She said she appreciated me being one of the few guys who never tried to hit on her, give her the “eyes,” or make lewd comments of any kind around her. My wife similarly got adopted into close friend status since she’s just a super sincere and loving person.

KitbashCarnage hear at the age of 31 iv recently got back into the warhammer/kitbashing community agen after taking 15year brake away due to my army being stolen on myself .
I have taken the leap head on and started a youtube channel along with Instagram, Facebook and Tiktok. It's hard with this algorithm thing is somthing to get used to along with editing and so on but my love and the flame for my lost passion has been reignited more then ever and dont plan on stopping soon .
Along with having lots of content plans and already in the pipeline and also a Revamp to all social media with new header picture and profile picture from a digital contractor I sorced I hope to just gain more traction to the community iv came back to 🔥

I'm sorry but ADHD is such a farce. Some kids are hyperactive or weird. As someone who was "diagnosed" with ADHD as a kid I am so thankful that my parents realized that the medication turned me into a zombie and stopped giving it to me almost immediately.
Life experience and proper socialization is the best treatment or "cure" for ADHD.

I've had the opposite experience. Childhood and youth ruined, finally got meds for my ADHD in my 30's and my life was completly turned around in a positive way.
ADHD meds are the reason i can finally look towards the future with a smile.
