Thrawns revenge is also another good mod for the game
The saddest moment in Star Wars wasn’t Padme’s death or Vader’s redemption. It was the Battle Droid who was killed celebrating his retirement party in Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
True
Truely a sad moment... :(
Another one is where while uh, i forgot the dudes name so imma just call him "little green goblin", little green goblin hacks away at a droid all the while the droid was yelling about how he JUST got promoted
Bro hahaha i had totally forgotten this. Thanks for the reminder!
wow spoilers padme dies?
Fun fact: In canon, a single B1 costs approximately 1500 credits. That's like a 1/4th of the cost of a Clone Trooper's *armor*. B1 Droids are also specifically designed to break easily so reassembly is easy as pie, saving boatloads of credits in the long term. Speaking of long term, b1 droids (and Droids as a whole) are logistically genius.
Not needing food, water, sleep, or medical aid, B1s are also easy to transport enmasse due to how they fold up. Due to not needing food or sleep, they needed no time for these things, and recharging was typically quick. Their guns are dirt cheap and lack pesky safety features, too, and they were very simple. B1s may lack imagination and intelligence, but they were unquestioning and borderline fearless, going on s*****e missions in massive hordes. Even Jedi cant stand up to 100 opponents firing all at once. And remember, B1s were numerous beyond imagining and were seldom fielded alone-- Often having B2s as their heavy infantry backup and often being given some basic armor.
in other words our favrite war criminal played acording to lore
@@Shadow30. Basically, though to be totally lore accurate he needed more B2s lmao
Yeah, I was planning to post a similar comment. The droids seem like comic relief in the movies, but their sheer logistical might is terrifying if you think about it.
The guns also act as grenades if they run out of ammo
Well they were not good enough
Star wars empire at war my beloved
the game is just to good + the mods
Yeah, like thrawns revenge .
So real i love this game
I don't know how to type it out phonetically, but I can hear the rizz sound effect when I hear or read "my beloved"
Bricky enjoyer 👑@@Kt4nk
the video got recommended to me 20 seconds after being uploaded, thanks youtube.
Saaaame. Great game, great time.
Nice, I got mine after 22 hours but I'm fine 😢
I have been saying for years this needs a remaster
so real
There's hope considering they gave OG BF2 a random MP update but ultimately it's up to Disney & they suck at making easy money.
Everyone who plays in the modding community for empire at war has been begging for one for years
Yes please! 😫💦
YES please god I wish
Thanks for covering the mod, glad you enjoy it!
EAWX is great. Thanks to you and the team!
You shouldve been pinned

Hold on, this isn't Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars' planetary assault
My thoughts exactly, that's the REAL best Star Wars RTS

Kleiper will always find a way to use Skaven tactics, no matter what game he is playing
The B1 is the ultimate not Skaven Skaven

Godamm
I‘m 100% convinced the B1s just shot at stuff until it was too hot inside for the crew to survive
The second best part of EaW is the random bi-yearly update that breaks every mod and fixes some random critical issue because Petroglyph is insane.
@@nnnn11112 The year is 30113. Earth is a distant memory for a humanity warped beyond recognition by time and technology. Vast interstellar empires slaughter untold billions in a neverending war so old that the reason for it was lost to time a millennia ago. The value of a life is only the value it can provide to the incomprehensibly vast leviathan that slowly yet inexorably marches it towards it's doom.
And somewhere in this universe, EAW has become the only game to have literally no bugs whatsoever, transcending the devs to a higher plane of existence.
@@Tom_Cruise_Missile the Force is just EAW after it has attained sentience and spread its influence beyond the digital realm
I mean, of course Petroglyph is insane. They're what's left of Westwood Studios after EA bought them, they quite literally made Command & Conquer.
The CIS if they weren't literally a puppet designed to fail by constantly being held back lmfao
The CIS if they had soldiers that had more than 2 braincells that were competing for 3rd place.
@@jonathanj.3695 they had some competent leaders, but not a lot of them, and definitely not at the lower levels.
YOOOO as someone who has been playing fall of the republic and watching Corey for years I didn’t expect you to ever play empire at war.
Also as someone who has too many hours in the game and this mod specifically. NEVER DEPLOY YOUR GROUND HEROES IN SPACE (unless they have a designated star fighter but even then it’s probably best to be safe). If they don’t have a designated dog fighter they spawn in the low health, slow, practically defenseless carrier ships that are destroyed in a second or two by most ships in the game. On higher difficulties especially it will just result in the AI’s fighter swarms killing off valuable heroes.
Lastly, you can upgrade some ships like lucrehulks by making them into battle carriers or battleships. The same applies to some heroes like grevious who can be upgraded into a malevolence assuming he is in the recusant battlecruiser or providence. (Seeing the auxiliary lucrehulk used in battle for such a long time gave me a stroke so I felt the need to mention this lol. Noted there likely wasn’t the required tier 4 shipyard required to upgrade grevious’ ship nor the aux lucrehulks. )
Second and final lastly lol, if you are interested in getting the game its typically on sale for like 2 bucks on steam and for the administrators, like Nute Gunray, do not stack in terms of cost reductions. So if you have a building that gives -30% cost and build time, Nute will not make those effected units a further 30% cheaper. As a result, a decent amount of the time it is best to put administrators on large shipyards that don’t have companies that effect your ship costs (unless the company doesn’t effect the ship you want to build, in that case Nute will give the standard 30% discount). There is also another mod made by Corey Loses called “Thrawns Revenge” which is also set in the legends timeline but between the death of the emperor and the lead up to the yuzanhg vong invasion. The third mod that will be coming out soon (I believe in the next few months, it may already be out bc I haven’t played in half a year) called Revan’s Revenge, which is set during the SWTOR and KTOR period about 3000bby. It’s the youngest of the mods so it isn’t as in depth as Fall of the Republic (shown in the video) or Thrawns Revenge which was the first of the mods. All of these mods are still actively being updated and the community is extremely committed to overhauling the game and supporting mod devs.
I say this with love, but HOLY YAP
(PS: i spy an owl house watcher)
Tl; dr
do you happen to know how kleaper managed to start off with so many heroes?
I’m an avid RTS fan. Red alert, Tiberius wars, generals, BFME 2, and total war as well like medieval and warhammer. This game looks great exactly the things I play I saw you said 2$ on steam I hope that’s still the case. Sadly RTS and grand strategy has died in the gaming world😢 I look for old games like this now 😂
Okay, just in case you don't know, Jedi in these mods regenerate health when they are shot by infantry weapons. So, they are nearly impossible to kill with droids alone. However, speeders, with their anti infantry cannons, hard counter them.
@@jurajsintaj6644 what's the hero's mod called I can't seem to find it ?

"some of you may die but thats a sacrifice I'm willing to make"-Kleaper to all of his droids before every battle
"Uh Oh"
Roger Roger
"These aren't people." Kleaper be cooking with that
I have over a thousand hours on empire at war
I’ve never played the base game once
The FoC campaign is really good, would recommend. The plot goes completely off the rails by the end
I loved the battle droids so much, hell I still own a plushie of one.
A PLUSHIE??? I NEED ONE NOW!!
_BATTLE DROID?_ *_PLUSHIE?!!?_*
THEY HAVE ONE! I NEED IT NOW!
Honestly, between this game (plus it's expansion, Eclipse Dreadnought my beloved) and Battlefront 2, I think I can neatly pinpoint where my love for map painting started.
The extremely balanced expansion, you mean?
Star Wars EaW is a surprise, but a welcome one.
A vaguely remember either reading or seeing something that was a clone that said "When fighting droids, you dont even need to move your gun to aim. it doesnt matter how many blasters you have facing their line, they just keep coming and coming."
Thank you for making this! We still love this game and the fun it brings people all these years later.
It's you! The ones who worked on da game! Thanks for making this game! It's really cool to see this amazing game still manage to be alive and well in some capacity. And your efforts created a game well worth the effort to keep it alive. So once again, thank you.
Hopefully Disney will greenlight either a remaster or a sequel. Something I'd definitely recommend if that comes to pass is convince Disney to allow both Eras as seen here Clone Wars content is the bomb
Fun fact for those who dont know the fight inn the backround on thw main menu is an actual skirmish being played you can click around and sometimes it will pull you into the actual match thats going on
Grievous has such a goofy run animation I can't stop laughing at it
Grievous when he smells an overconfident Padawan
Grievous on his way to the next lightsaber to add to his collection
Ah another kleaper video to my download collection!
Empire at war is the best example of a game that’s been kept alive by its community
The fact this is still one of my most favorite Star Wars games says alot about how great this game still is. And with the modding community helping out and making it an even smoother experience is great.
For those of you who don’t know you can put a ship in the top left of the screen to put that ship in first. Otherwise you will jump into a system with the max amount of ships. It’s really annoying when you have 20+ ships that you didn’t want to use in the battle.
Fun Fact: I'm not 100% sure it works in Republic at War, but in the base game+expansion, you can pause and then bring in all of your ships, and they all jump in AT THE SAME TIME
the fact the separatists without palp was the right side is funny
I mean if your hobby is licking the boots of megacorps sure
They really... REALLY were not. Unless you're one of those Libertarians who also love slavery. Basically if the Separatists were right, then so was the US Confederacy.
@Arbaaltheundefeated search up why the cis was right under the lore master (ik ofc talking about legends bc they brutalized my boy in cannon)
@Arbaaltheundefeated I'm not talking about the megacorps I'm talking about the actual senate the planets and people they represented they wanted fairness in the republic so when diplomatic means broke down they revolted (plus slavery isn't practiced in a good 99% of separatist planets)
dooku was unfathomably based, apart from being evil
*plays 'Fall of the Republic' mod
*links 'Republic at War' mod
tbf those are both great mods that are both regularly updated
Ha just changed it, my bad!
Republic at war IS a Bit easier
@@laisphinto6372 that was an absolutely brutal mod as the republic and cheesing the ground assaults was unfortunately necessary.
In the words of some Astra Militarum general:
Any man who doubts the power of the humble lasrifle, has not had to run through a field of a thousand of them.
it is actually surprising how well the games held up graphically in the space battles, and mechanically the game really is amazing especially for it's time. i always pickup the game again once every couple years. The modding scene is awesome too
Watching Kleaper just sit there and watch as his ships get destroyed. Pain.
Bro is NOT a strategist.
I love how I just got Empire at War, and this plague mask wearing mad lad just drops a video of how great this game is. I’ll take this as a sign.
I was genuinely confused for a second, as I thought this was some other Star Wars RTS I had never heard of from the title/ thumbnail, but I’m so happy this mod is finally getting solid recognition. A total overhaul made by committed fans of the Star Wars universe that simultaneously fixes 99% of the obnoxious elements of the original game (the entirety of the consortium) while also not feeling too distinct from the base game and its mechanics. Even if there is never a sequel to EAW, Fall of the Republic and Thrawn’s revenge are still amazing experiments in how far you can push a dinky early 2000s RTS to its limits, straight up there with DOTA and the original team fortress
6 thousand hours in this game from playing as a kid at my grandmas house during sleepovers to still playing the absolutely goated mods this game is truly one of the best
I think kleapers favorite strategy is just throwing so much cheap stuff at his enemies that he eventually wins ("random bullshit, go!")
how to combat anti infantry units
1. have more units than they have ammo
2. profit
I still play it this day. The mod community is alive and well and it's still one of the best Star Wars games of all time.
Love that after all this time kleaper still says “infulstructure” instead of infrastructure
for anyone wondering this is one of the smaller total conversion mods, the modding scene for this insane
General Grievous sitting in the Malevolance be like: "Ride wife, life good".
Fun fact for anyone who doesnt already know, when attacking or defending a planet, if you succeed in controlling the planet, any objects you build like turrets will persist. I did this with anti vehicle turrets to counter CIS tanks since clones in crouch hard counter infantry. Easiest way to stop any non hero led armies from invadinf
Fun fact: The Emperor returning from the dead isn't even an original idea. It's straight up just a carbon copy of a 1980's comic book series known as Dark Empire that Disney decanonized to "wipe the slate clean."
Yeah they have no ideas of their own.
And it made no sense back then either
Fun fact : the CIS' droid army is estimated to have , I quote, "hundreds of quadrillions to the quintillions of droids".
Thats a lot of clankers
And then only a few million at most were ever used.
I love it when a fighter glitches out and starts zooming across the entire map
Also, Anakin was completely unkillable UNTIL you used the high ground(orbit). It's like poetry, it rhymes.
The one game I would spend cash on... Star Wars:Total War
"Set exclusively in the sequel trilogy! "
Total war doesn't really work with Star Wars. I'd prefer an Empire at War sequel
You might actually get that, there's apparently a Star Wars Strategy game being made and Creative Assembly have said they are working with a big franchise, so maybe we'll get that soon
@@TheNephilimofEmpireCity "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
@@isaac3140 Yeah like
the total war formula simple doesn't work with
big blocks of infantry with somewhat automatic guns.
Like, in napoleon/empire, it kind of made sense because the guns are innacurate and take a while to reload, and warfare still revolved around big firing lines and "solid" blocks of infantry
i
See if I was given the reins to the Universe of Star Wars with complete creative control, my VERY FIRST hire would be people like these modders. People that are so particular with getting the very smallest thing correct Lore-wise. These modders freaking killed it.
The mod shows that it is made for people who have spent their lives in RTS, I remember installing it and being overwhelmed by the speed at which everything happened, the units are extremely fast, they kill/die almost instantly, I don't remember if the AI was smarter but I do remember that he spam the hardest he could
Republic at war was _awful_ with that, the AI had so many buffs
One nice benefit of playing the CIS: if you ever have to flee a situation you don't even need to pretend to care about the troops you leave behind!
When Kleaper posted about star war empire at war:”A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one”
I literally still have the boxes for this and it's expansion. Its such a shame that games like this, W3 and the original Dawn of War games are not really made much anymore.
Thousands of plasma shots focusing down on a single point probably melts a hole through it.
Thank you so much for making a vid of one of my all time favorite PC games!
The droids are basically the Krieg soldiers from Warhammer. Just slowly walking towards enemy machine gun lines
B1 Battle Droids were such an efficient strategy that you might as well have bought entire planets for like 900 credits and saved them the losses...
I love this mod so muchhh, thank you for playing itttt
Thank you so much for covering this game! It is an absolute favorite of mine, especially with Fall of the Republic
The fun thing about battle droids against air units is that they have really bad accuracy, which actually makes them... better? Units shoot at where the enemy is, not where they are going, (with the exception of dedicated anti air that predicts their flight path) so a bunch of ground rifles will shoot at an air unit and, with their high accuracy, miss every shot. B1 droids have poor accuracy. When they shoot at an air unit, they are aiming for where it is, about 1/3 of it's shot will be "accurate" and go to where the flying unit is, and miss. Another 1/3 of their shots will go behind it and miss, and the last 1/3 of their shots will go in front of it and, because it is moving in that direction, they will hit.
Got the plushy just cuz i wanna support this man. Please continue with the war crimes my friend.
Kleapers back. The next 40 minutes of my life are occupied.
Good thing this wasn’t remastered like battlefront
Omg I love this game so happy you are bringing this to the public light again
I love this guy's videos as well as regies' ones so much that i just tend to rewatch every single one of them whenever i get bored from work or studying
I remember making those security bots (Probots) in Star Wars Galaxies. Made them because they looked different from all the other bots since the only use of bots was basically a portable backpack
Ty for this nice tutorial I was always overwhelmed loading up th clone wars this looks more easier and better to understand and grow
Thank you for recognizing the Separatists as the true good guys of the clone wars, Roger Roger soldier
It's time for your Chad AOE4 China arc
The bit about the “somehow palpatine returned” line at the beginning is ten times funnier when you realize that exact thing happens in Thrawn’s revenge, the Legends mod made by the same group
Yeah but it’s actually like
Well written
And
Foreshadowed at all
@@zakirbakar3540nothing taking place post-ROTJ in legends was well-written, except for maybe some of the Zahn books. The cloning was especially bad.
Give the sequels the criticism they deserve, but they deserve credit for not having "Luuke" as a serious character, and the awful Yuuzhan Vong.
@@isaac3140 Praises the Zahn books... and then proceeds to whine about the clones.... which are a critical part of the Heir to the Empire trilogy. Sure, the Palpatine clone stuff was pants-on-head stupid, but come on man.
Also, implying that series like the X-Wing/Rogue Squadron novels aren't well-written is borderline grounds for fisticuffs.
@@isaac3140 the cloning is foreshadowed in the zhan books you are talking about
Like
That’s kinda the whole plot of HttE
And in the duology zhan writes after the events of the thrawn trilogy Luke finds a thrawn clone in the empire of the hand
Don’t see how it was especially bad considering Zhan’s books are pretty much undisputedly the best Star Wars books ever written.
This was the game that got me into Rts games. I had a demo disk and played it endlessly doing the same old desert planet map over and over. I have since played the game countless times and it’s still top of the charts in my books
The Sabaoth Destroyers you lost are actually really good at anti fighter work, they carry Flak cannon batteries aboard ship. They're kind of like an anti-carrier capital
I've never laughed so hard at a CZcams video before this one, hope you grow bro
The quirkiness and personality of the B1 droids won my heart on the shows.
Then came the cool Super Battle Droids, the infiltrator, the DROIDEKA rolling in, and the fact they were always this underdog faction.
Disposable and lovable, the battle droids.
Most other nerds: An endless debate of what's better, Star Wars or 40k.
Kleaper: Deploying B1 Droids with Imperial Guard tactics.
Hi there! If you decide to play more Empire at War I would highly recommend trying the Awakening of the Rebellion mod.
AotR is a complete overhaul for EaW set right after the battle of Yavin, it's depth of combat is unmatched both from a tactical and technical standpoint but also a visual and sound design one.
Space Battles are at a smaller scale (as compared with some other mods) with a greater emphasis on tactics, especially with shield penetrating weapons allowing for even a few starfighters to change the outcome of a battle.
The rock paper scissors gameplay of the basegame has been completely thrown out in favor of a much more nuanced system where every single unit and weapon type plays a different role and building balanced fleets and armies matters.
The mod features three distinct playable factions all with their own tech systems, economy and unit rosters, the Rebel Alliance that emphasizes defensive abilities, disabling weapons, high tier infantry, stealth raids and starfighter tactics, the Galactic Empire which focuses on capital ships, offensive abilities and powerful conventional military forces. and finally the Black Sun underworld, this unconventional criminal faction is split between four different leader techs with only one tech tree being active at a given time, these techs include the IG-88 Droid revolution, the Zann Consortium, Hutt Cartel and Xizor Trade Systems.
I can not do this mod justice with just this comment, check it out.
I cannot begin to express my love for this game, hundreds of hours poured into thrawn’s revenge alone. It’s nice to see it get some recognition after so long. This game needs a worthy successor (and a 40k conversion mod)
Grimm creeper please remember this if you’re ever going back to it always remember the two ways to bring down a giant ship and do a lot damage without losing many losses is usually target the shield generator and then target the fighter bay
Would love to see more of this
It is incredibly rare to see Hutts actually doing the fighting unless they are absolutely desperate.
When I saw the title I knew what game he was talking about

i love this game and EAWX is S tier mod, Coreyloses and his team are incredible. more than 500hrs with these mods and i can say its one of the greatest RTS's made
The way you used the droids is pretty much how they were used in canon.

Sometimes i wonder for the guys who first saw the OT, what they thought The Clone Wars were going to be and if they thought it would involve millions of Boba Fett's clone daddy's clones fighting an army of droids.

bro I have been waiting for years for someone to cover this game thank you :)
42:24 Speaking of updates. End of last year the game itself got an official update for 64bit support. You know, just casually updating a 17-year-old game to make it run perfectly on modern hardware.
the classic CIS battle tactic "They can't possibly kill ALL of us!"
"If you have enough battle droids, anything is possible." - Separatist war doctrine, probably
