HSV V6 turbo | The LS eater

  • A long forgotten Holden Special Vehicle, the VT series factory supercharged V6 was good for around 240hp from the factory. George of Pro Flow Fab and Dyno has turned his into one of the quickest V6 street cars in Australia. Ditching the stock Eaton blower in favour of turbo power, George got the V6 into the ten second bracket using the internally stock L67 engine.
Since then the engine has been rebuilt with boost friendly internals and a larger Borg Warner turbo and a custom Holley Hi-Ram intake. The stock IRS rear end is still in place. The XU6 does not hold an appropriate safety ticket however so George was only able to attempt a couple of passes, but impressively the car is quicker than many boosted LS1’s...

Yeah but you have these cars you can get and do this with. We don't. Literally every car that's not a Camaro, Mustang, or sports car is some fwd junk with a V6 that isn't even a V6 you can build. Aside from maybe the AWD Taurus. Every sedan after the 90s is fwd garbage. We don't have the falcon, the el camino (Ute), they won't even give us the Caprice. The sedans that did have potential like the LS1 Monte Carlo and Impala SS were neutered with fwd. Atleast you have some proper cars

It's just a matter of getting the compression ratio low enough in the LS1 engine to run a higher amount of boost then it would certainly be able to generate more power & beat the V6 engine,I wouldn't go as far as this but I totally bypassed buying a Commodore with the 90° V6 engine which I think is a horrible engine & is very hard to balance even when GM fitted a balance shaft into the engine - I'm a Holden who hates them & it's any wonder why GM went to a 60° Alloytec V6 engine which is much easier to balance.
I bought an LS1 powered Commodore to replace my RB30DE (twin cam) VL Commodore so I much rather the Nissan & Chev LS engines over the rotten old Buick engine any day, while my LS1 only has the stock L76 V8's power (276 KW from the LS1) Holden may not bother trying to flog off a lame offering of 235 KWs from the latest ZB Commodore which only runs a V6 engine.
      How's this 1200+ HP effort from a single cam RB30 engine :- czcams.com/video/ieVDfnUKN9s/video.html

This was the best model that was sold extremely well. Then came the new models, bulky, fat-assed and unappealing, spelling the end of GMH in Australia. Think about it, the latest station wagon after this great Holden, nothing appealing, nothing attractive, just a fat box with an ass the size of a Hippo and smaller rear windows compared to the lovely station wagon of this model above. And... GMH is gone, a company started in Adelaide by a determined man with a vision, James Alexander Holden, is no longer around. And, despite the company leaving the country that cherished Holden fans and buyers, people still buy them imported, sending money overseas and no jobs in Australia. That's what I call Australian intelligence, buying Holdens from overseas and sending their hard earned dollars overseas instead of the opposite, to make cars locally where here are jobs and prosperity. But no, we have nothing for jobs just work in Chinese warehouse across the country if you think that's appropriate. What about skills? You don't become skilled working in warehouse. To be a skilled worker, you need to work in foundries, lathes, fitter and Turner, on machines, glass bottle maker, etc. That's what you call skills, not just manual labour in warehouses with a forklift, shifting and loading pallet loads of Chinese junk. Today (Fri 8-2019) I bought two Bonds T-shirts, the very shirts that were made in Australia in the 60's to 90' are now made in China. And no wonder there are no jobs and my money is on the way to China with a bit gone to the Governments coffers as GST. Look at the state we are today a country in turmoil, full of multinationals that know nothing about Australian way of life. They're only here to breed like rabbits, they don't even care about our culture anyway.
