I was only 8 when I heard queen for 1st time as the band came to milton keynes bowl in UK and I can hear the music from my own bedroom few days later I learnt from other parents talking on way to school that they went to this brilliant concert.
During traumatic times throughout my childhood then 2015 fighting cancer now today I have anoughter cancer scare but I always turn to queen and just for a short time I genuinely forget and start singing and I'm in a happy place.
Queen have been with me every step in my life good or bad and now 49 years this year and I will never get bored listening to this amazing best group ever. ❤❤

Seriously, Freddie is for sure one of the greatest singers ever. How many singers can sing hard rock and heavy metal without sounding too pretty or nice and then switch to soft, soothing ballads with such ease like this? Not to mention the man sings with boatloads of emotion as well.

Totally agree, didn't hear this song on The Tribute back in 1992, it should have, one of thé most beautiful songs Queen ever made. It's a bit of a 'forgotten' song I think. I didn't know the title of it until I bought their first Greatest Hits- album. I wondered at that moment if this song stood on the album...and it did, Thankgod! I knew it existed and I 've never forgotten it.....I was 9 or 10 when I first heard and saw the video. Thanks to CZcams I could document it into my personal music-files along with other Queen-vids.
@@sjoekiloeki Their catalog is so vast a lot of songs get lost along the way, I saw them do this live during their tour for "The Game" album, which this song is on, in 1980. There are songs from every album that should be on a greatest hits album. One of my favorites is "March of the Black Queen" off of side black on Queen II.
What I love about Queen is that no-matter who wrote the song.. (in this case Brian May)... everyone in the band is fully committed to it.. theres no 'its not my song so I don't give a fuck' shenanigans going on with any member. Taylors 'Radio GaGa'..Deacons 'You're My Best Friend'... Mercurys 'Somebody To Love'........didn't matter... they were all-in.

Behind the scenes they argued a lot about which songs should get onto each album, but yes, once the decision was final they all gave it a 100%, that was one of their major strengths.

I'd never understood why this work of art was not usually p played in Queen concerts. I feel it's one of the most "Queen British style songs". Bri shows ones again he's one of the top songwriters ever!!!

It is 43 years since I have both listened to this song and more so - watched the video. Even aged 7, I loved the beauty of the animation and significance of the dove.
The final scene where the woman falls to her seeming demise, yet transforms, has stuck with me ever since. I still think of this scene, regularly. The reference of being reborn - and thus liberated - as birds, spans so many cultures, with it’s poignant commonality.
Bohemian Rhapsody is their most recognized and definitely nothing short of Genius! but, "Save Me" is a masterpiece, so underrated.
And still today, in 2018, still miss one the greatest vocalist EVER! "Freddie Mercury!" ♡

I got to see them do this live during "The Game'" tour September of 1980, Bohemian Rhapsody, Somebody to Love and the rest of the hits as well. This song along with "It's Late", "Now I'm Here", "Fat Bottom Girls" are great live too. For me "March of the Black Queen" off of "Side Black" on Queen II is right up there with Bohemian Rhapsody".
No offense Tammy, but "We Are The Champions" is by far the most recognizable... People from every walk of life, especially in sports arenas in every age/demographic/nationality have heard this song. Most likely they have no idea who it belongs to, but they've all heard it.

When I was 4 years old this was my favourite Queen song. Now im 40 and still love it that much. Love you Freddy you put the best music in my childhood.

I was born listening to queen
The more I watch about Freddie and Queen on the 25th anniversary of his passing, the more I realise the hugeness of the loss of FM. So sad how he ended up from such a strong character and personality. Can't see how there will be another like him, especially as the stadium rock bands seem to be disappearing in this changing musical landscape. A great song, their best in my opinion.
Why do you just say Freddie and Queen either just say queen or say Freddie John Roger and Brian

I couldn't cry him when he died cause I was still moaning for my eight-year-old beautiful cousin, who had died two months before, 1991 was a terrible year and I stopped listening to Queen because it was too painful, luckily pain went away eventually. The were and are my fav band ever. Long live Freddy. Long live Queen. Love JM
