I am 77 years old, to this day I am totally in awe of everything, even the telephone book album if there was such a thing, sung or written by Queen. Dr. Brian May is still amazing and sooo intelligent, Freddie Mercury's talent is so far above any musician born in the 20th century and I have enjoyed or endured them all. Roger Taylor, I don't dare get started on my admiration and adoration for the singer/drummer, he too has no equal. John Deacon must have been the best bassist in the universe for the others to choose and keep him in the group always. He was/is so low key he's hard to know, but respect for him is unending. I could go on and on and on, but I'm sure you get an old lady's take on perfection.

My Dad was a huge Queen Fan. When he died we wanted this song to be one of his funeral songs, as it was one of his favorites. No matter what we or the funeral officials did, the song wouldn’t play - not even in the restaurant we had the „dinner“ in, after. Couple months later my sister and I were alone at home, sad, wishing dad was here when the DVD player started on its own - the cd was in it, but it was not song #1 on the cd... It was like track 4 or 5. It started. We felt so scared and reassured at the same time, it was unreal. We are convinced our dad didn’t want us to associate this song with his death that he stopped it playin during his funeral, but started it to comfort and console us. Thank you Queen and Daddy ❤️

This song touches me on so many levels... personal levels. In 1999 my Granny was suffering from Ovarian cancer that metastasized to her liver and bones. The morphine couldn't even provide her with "comfort" at that point. My Granny actually introduced me to Queen. She was born in 1929. Even though she was in a pain that was beyond angony and anguish I would sit with her for hours and we would listen to Queen together. This song was a very special song for the both of us. Even in the pain she was in she would try her best to sing along with me and Queen and hold my hand to assure me that even after her passing she would always be with me. I should have been comforting her but she was comforting me. I miss you, Granny.

During a darker point in my life when I was confused with my gender, I recorded myself singing and playing this for her, accompanied by a suicide note. I reflected and thought of how Brian May went through a similar state as well, but ultimately got through it. I never ended up attempting, nor did I ever get help, but I’m beginning to accept myself as transgender and Queen has helped me through this. 訳詞が素晴らしい。
The lyrics of Japanese translation is great. They chose classical words which sound beautiful and those words match Queen's intelligence and dignity.

I really like the whole "let us cling together as the years go by" motif in Queen songs. It shows up in Who Wants to Live Forever, These Are the Days of Our Lives, '39, and here. The bittersweet sense of love acted on by long time is really well portrayed.

My dad passed away weeks ago. He used to play this song often when we were younger and it reminds me of him when ever i play this song.
    Rest well daddy ♥️🥀

Beautiful tribute. The Japanese people and Queen have a very close bond. How touching this piece was used during the opening ceremonies. Brian May must be very proud.
