Queen - In The Lap Of the Gods... Revisited (Official Lyric Video)
/ queenofficial - Hudba
Freddie loved John .. he would never want John's name missing ...
Glad i wasn't the only one who realized :l
John doesnt want to be a part of Queen anymore and he doesnt want to be mentioned or anything else
spot on respect john deacon MR MAY MR TAYLOR shame on you
chaos 6010 There is no Queen without Freddie and John. Not the Queen that I love, no way, not even close.
yes, I have noticed too.
I was going to send a message to the account. It's not on all the videos/songs, but a lot only say 'See the best of Freddie Mercury, Brian May & Roger Taylor right here on CZcams.
Freddie: but that's not true
Lyrics: but I'm no fool
I am confusion
Freddie: I can see what you want me to be
Lyrics: My money, that's all you wanna talk about
Freddie: I can see what you want me to be (second time he says it)

roger, wut did u do?!
I tried, by the 2nd verse I started singing in a false voice. Its a hard song, I don't know how the managed it live to coordinate all the notes in such a harmonical and beautiful song.
Gotta hit toes high pentatonics and more high notes oh i see
Matthew Scott
If you listen to 39 you’ll find a reason to come to the conclusion that roger wrote that part of it
Now Freddie is in the lap of the gods ...........
We *don't* talk about that
I think it's more like ...in the pits of Hell" for Freddie.
@gregory poston more like..... the pits of hell” for you
@@urischic1668 I think he talks about the interview, in which Freddie says that he wants to go to hell, because the people there would be more interesting
@@nilsnrevents4956 I think Freddie meant that as a joke. I'm not sure he liked to be interviewed very much.

In my opinion this is queen’s most underrated song
I totally agree, and scandal too
And You take my breath away
the march of the black queen deserve this one
wo wo la la la
How is it underrated? It was played live for years and lots of fans love it. People overuse the word "underrated" when they can simply say "this is one of my favorite songs".
One of thier best songs that goes unnoticed and underrated. Now even on the greatest hits. They are so good they have 3 greatest hits albums and there's still great song's not included on them. Impeccable catalogue.
They only included songs that were made into singles and put in the top 20 of the UK Singles Chart at the time of their releases, so obviously songs like these had no chance of being included.
@@josephbarron6778 yes. These are songs only real Queen fans even know of.
Everyone knows the hits but not the albums, a lot of incredible music that no one has heard! I always share the hidden gems on fb.
I had a late life odyssey through some of queen's earlier albums that i hadn't yet done a deep dive on, last year, A Day at the Races among them, and i met LOTG for the first time in my late 50s. Wow.
Not finished yet either. The Movie has me pumped again.
I love this song, but who the bloody hell messed the lyrics on screen as monumentally as these have?
In UK parlance it is what is known as a complete fuck up
that person was really a fool
What did you say in The ending? I didn't undestand the phase structure. Brazilian here.
I found it. Usually i listen to queen without paying attention to The lyrics coz generaly i'm doing shores.
Diz you mean someone wrote lyrics on the screen that don't match those they originally sing? I gonna listencto it once more to get it checked out.
Did nobody think to proofread the lyrics before posting this video? 🤦♂️
Words can't describe how much you are missed Freddie.Thank you for the great music, the unmatched vocals and Freddie....the kids love you and Queen!!

Zeppelin, Queen, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple etc what an era
Ashley Burns. Judas priest, Iron maiden, AC/DC, Jethro Tull, Metallica, Pet Shop boys, Depeche Mode, Smashing Pumpkins, T'pau, Genesis, Dire Straights, Oasis, Ocean colour scene, The Stone Roses all great, Queen..... probably the finest of them all!
Black Sabbath, Grand Funk Railroad, The Who, The Doors, Cream, Free, Kiss... They are awesome too !
you forgot BOC and bowie
You forgot the band that started it all, the father of all the bands: The Beatles
AC/DC

Though John wasn't much of a singer in the band, I swear I can hear him in this song!

Hi bebin! Yes, he does do vocals in this song! I wish he had done more vocal work when the band was in its hay day, he can sing pretty well! The
John wasn't really bad at singing, if he would have practiced he would probably have a good voice.
I can hear Deaky's voice here too! His lovely northern accent.
This is one of the best queen's songs.

I was 13 in 1974 and this song has stayed with me since the very second that I heard it, it blew me away was almost orgasmic and it still sends shivers down my spine.,,,,,what a band.
My parents didn't even born in 1974 but real, amazing band.
Oh, what a voice!!! And he also wrote this song, this is real perfection! I love Freddie since 1992, when I was 12 and my father brought me Queen II. Oh, God, I was so happy, so amazed... then I got all the albums))) all of them were different, all were completly perfect for me. and today I'm still in love with Queen music) ❤
@@mariammm4928 You have the best father in the world, he gave you Queen II.
I can't understand how this song didn't become a huge hit
because it didn't become a single. Back then, songs that doesn't become single doesn't get that popular
To be honest, as stunning as this track is, it wasn't really singles material in 74. The UK singles from the album, Killer Queen and Now I'm Here, were streets ahead of most pop singles of the time, but ITLOTGR was more a concert song. Nevertheless, one of Freddie's best!
Freddie is the best singer in the world..

November 24th 2020. R.I.P. Freddie. This song is one of my long time favorite Queen songs.
No one else could sing as Freddie. You're the most talented musician and song writer on this planet. I still love you and miss you everyday. From Japan.
Queen The only band I've known with no permanent genre, such a versatile band
I must listen to In The Lap of The Gods several times a day. I am addicted to Freddie and thosr tracks he composed.
I guess you're not alone
I love Roger's high operatic voice he does
Who is still listening to this work of art in 2024?
Freddie: That's not true

No hay una voz más bonita en el mundo ! Siempre Freddie, el mejor cantante de todos los tiempos, y la mejor banda ❤❤
When I die and get to heaven, the three people I want to see and meet first are God, Jesus and Freddie Mercury. Thirty years now since the great man died. Makes me cry all the time. Such a sad loss to music and to life itself. Miss you and love you Freddie, I always will. 😘
This is the most beautiful, haunting, breathtaking song ever made. It hurts me. Gorgeous
Wonderful Song. Wonderful Freddie. He is a Legend!! Forever!
"I can't set you free from me" probably my favorite lyrics of all time
But that's not true....
It’s in the lap of the gods…
Freddie was in the lap of the gods. I hope they recognize him as one of their own.
I swear it's John Deacon's voice since 2:37! I can hear his specific northern accent in 'wo wo lalala'.
And 2:57
You live in the lap of the gods Freddie, happy birthday dear, I send you a lot of love
I miss him, he's a legend.
Best musicians of the modern era no debate
This song is phenomenal. I swear I felt possessed listening to it.
One of my favourite, underrated Queen songs.
The comments section of every song on this album:
"This song is soooooo underrated" (apparently, this applies to all Queen songs that weren't singles, or on the Greatest Hits albums)
"Brian May has a PhD in Astrophysics, you know" (we know)
"John/Roger/Brian was the best member of Queen" (followed by everyone saying it was Freddie)
"I'm 14 and I listen to Queen" (well done)
Plus, every single video has the lyrics transcribed wrongly by whoever edited it, so well done there too.
LOL :-)
LOL XD
John Deacon is underrated.
Just about sums up any youtube comment section(change the subject though)
Neil I’m not 14 tough I’m 11. I’m obsessed with Queen....
"this is way better than trashy justin bieber"
Freddie always wrote such a meaningful songs ❤

Am I the only one who finds Lap of the gods more motivating than Don't stop me now? I don't know why it motivates me more, it just does.
One of my favorite Queen songs. I like the way Freddie sings, especially from ~there's no meaning in my pretending,~. Amazing!
The chorus sounds... tremendously nostalgic.
Damn.
I want to add this to my CD, but I'm scared to depress myself everytime I hear it.
easily one of my favorite Queen songs
me too!
I would like this but I want to keep I at 169
Nobody puts this much effort into their music now a days. Queen and many bands from this era will be the best there is ever been and will be for a very long time. I hope im wrong.
There are some extremely good and talented bands around, it's just that they don't get a ton of airplay if they don't subscribe to the pop format. Linkin Park, Foo Fighters, Tool are just a few, but there are many...
>Linkin Park
lol
SOAD
Radiohead, I know they started in the 90s but unlike most bands their new stuff is as good as their old stuff, a lot of the time better
This seems true, no one puts the feeling and effort into songs like Queen and a few other bands of that fantastic era........
Such a beautiful song. Such the amazing cristalline voice and PERFECT voice of young Freddie. All is PERFECT
La voz de Freddie es una adicción una vez la escu has y nunca más la dejas de escuhar es preciosa te lleva a la extratosfera

If you listen to the words and know what Freddie was going through at that time you would understand the song. Its beautiful and sad. God bless Freddie Mercury!!
What was Freddie going through at that time?
chaos 6010 I've always thought it referred to his mother not accepting his homosexuality... Maybe I'm wrong.
Wilfreda William this is way before he got AIDS stop claiming nonsense
Wilfreda William he knew he had aids in 1974 when the song was writen but he was diagnosed in 1987 ?
@@klitimaliqi1661 Not true, he didn't know he had AIDS until he was diagnosed in 87 and probably didn't have AIDS in the 70's, HIV probably.
Friends: Freddie’s in heaven with all our loved one now.
Me: I’m no fool, he’s in the lap of the Gods!!! Wo wo la la la wo!!!!!!
One of the best Queen songs?
Imo THE best! (but it's REALLY hard to decide lol)
EVERY song. So many amazing compositions. And for everyone, there is a "favorite" or "best" song. Even the later, mid-80's stuff. And when you get to Innuendo, well, every song on that album is also a "best" song. So, in the final analysis, EVERY QUEEN SONG IS THEIR BEST SONG!! This band had No Fillers. Even the Beatles, Queens main inspiration, had fillers. Zeppelin had fillers. Every band in the history of Rock had fillers, except this band. Don't know how they managed this.
The best from SHA album, but not the best of the band.
today? maybe. tomorrow? no
yes, the best song of the band

Freddie is the voice from heaven!! This song is on my playlist every morning - usually the first or 2nd song i play. but not this version - the Odeon concert version is sublime, hypnotic and just downright excruciatingly beautiful! I am still astounded every time i hear it to realize someone could sing so beautifully! I like this version too and i am learning while taking a tour through Queen's catalog and watching countless hours of concerts and videos that one of the incredible things about Queen was that they delivered us multiple versions of songs. They'd give us the studio recording and then in concert, Freddie would add some inflection or stretch out some notes or Brian would add a guitar riff and you'd have a "new" song that just blows you away. They did it with Save Me, Play the Game and many others. It's phenomenal and my level of amazement with this legendary band just continues to grow!!
Thanks for stopping by the planet earth, Freddie
Brian May was the man with magic fingers. He takes a simple melody and plays it like no one else could.
I first heard this song when I bought the album: 1994/96ish. I was swept away. I felt like a fish that discovered water. I relished it. No one I knew was listening to queen. Well, at least nothing that wasn't on the greatest hits. It felt like I was on my own planet.
I would often make queen mix tapes. Half of them all ended with this. It was my closer. I sang this song the best I could ever since. This song ment a lot to me .

One of a rare classics that's even better live 💛😪
This song is absolutely beautiful and original and yet I remembered Hay Jude and Day in the Life))
Freddie Mercury = maior cantor do universo
nah
I actually prefer the live version of this to the studio version. But I'm sure I'm not the only one who does, it's spine chilling
Chelsea Lee is that where Roger sings those impossibly high notes?
Barbara Saracini there are two versions of this song, this is the revisited version. The other version displays Rogers high falsetto notes (the live version specifically, at the Rainbow in 1974)
I think you mean the 1986 magic tour version, where Freddie belted the falsetto notes
Love Roger's voice in the live one
the live version at the rainbow is actually insane🤯🤯🤯
in the 70s Freddie was God IN writing and singing.. in the 80s was god of THE stage in hystory was God OF VOICE

+Yummy Sounds You are not alone at all in your sentiment. I had to stop singing along with this song, one of my favorite by Queen. I would get so overwhelmed with emotion every time the "outro" chorus would start building that I can't maintain proper breath support. Even with my personal decision, I still feel such an urge to join in with the "choir".
Roxanne Rolle I completely agree with you, beautifully described, it's a really underrated Queen song, it's really powerful to makes us feel really strong emotions....
+Yummy Sounds Nope, same here
Nope. No matter how my day is going, I will feel like crying. I don't know exactly why.
I know this is not correlated with lyrics, but this song is still "my go-to song" back when my mother got cancer in 2015 and got a hospital treatment and if I listen to this song I reminisce every good moments with her back then
R.I.P my lovely mom...
In conclusion, Sheer Heart Attack -> best Queen album ever
