How sweetly Freddie sings the Japanese part; How on earth does he get that emotion in his voice in another language. Just incredible.
He took the time to learn what he was singing.
I think they ALL loved the warmth from their Japanese fans, and they wanted to show their appreciation.
As a person who can speak a few languages, I can confirm: if you know what you're talking about you know how much emotion to add. And considering this is Freddie fucking Mercury, it shouldn't have been too hard for him at all.
The same way all singers sing in foreign languages. Think opera singers, for instance.

Before Queen became famous in the world, it was very popular in Japan. I was enthusiastic since junior high school. There were many things that only Queen could do. Vocal, chorus, performance sound quality, mixing technology. I thought that a band beyond the Beatles appeared. My hero when I was young. I have been loving Queen for 45 years.
FYI: The name of this song is also the subtitle of a beloved strategic RPG from Square Enix:
TACTICS OGRE - LET US CLING TOGETHER.
The game will have a re release on modern consoles and PC under the name Tactics Ogre Reborn. It will launch on Novemver 11th, 2022.

One of the reason is Japan have found "Queen" first. They were no-name even in the UK back in the middle of 70'. Later, "Cheap Trick", as well. Japan must have been ahead of the world, somehow.
