Rock, waltz, opera: only QUEEN can do this.
They literally did every genre.
Blues, disco.

Folk, rockabilly, '80s synth music, ragtime, prog rock
A john deacon bassline never disappoints!
its sublime
One of the best.

Especially this one!

John Deacon ! A VASTLY underrated Bassist. Seen him many times. Always wonderful !
I love that description
absolutely
Those who say Queen is overrated have likely only heard the band's radio hits that are played all the time on radio to the point of overexposure but have never heard an album in full - whilst the hits are all great, the band's first six albums are where the legend was created, with heavy metal, folk, symphony, classical, blues and everything in-between explored in an impeccable 4 year body of work. Millionaire's Waltz is one of the jewels in the crown.
First 7 albums*
You are right!
That guitar solo! That voice! That piano! That bass! What a band. Like D. Bowie said once, "God bless Queen".
Cristian Pinzón didn't know he said that. Thanks. I'm a Bowie fan boy, and my brother is Queen.
Cristian Pinzón that drums too
Cristian Pinzón Long Live the Queen
And that drum!
look Bowie's perfomans at the Mercury tribute concert (after "Heroes")
John Deacon, the unsung hero of Queen. Brilliant bassist.
With all these comments he no longer is
@@erikolsen8596 he is still x) when i ask people Queen member's names, the most part knows Freddie Mercury, the half knows Brian May and Roger Taylor, and only a few (too few) knows John Deacon.

Bohemian Rhapsody, Millionaire Waltz, The Prophet's Song, March of the Black Queen and Innuendo seem to be part of an elite group of songs with entirely different structure and feeling, almost as if they’re from another band altogether, although we know no other band can match this.
Totally agree!

Wth about the my fairy king????

Pretty neat selection of songs. Even though whether they're the best is obviously debatable, they're truly representative of the diversity in Queen's creations. Definitely masterpieces too.
Queen, more like "is this a part of the song or are my earphones broken?"

what about 9... White Queen (As it began)

Queen's non singles are better than the majority of every other artists' hits. That's how great their music is.
John Deacon's bass work in this song was absolutely superb.
The transition from a beautiful Waltz song into a rock song...stunning
Technically a waltz all the way through. It keeps the same time signature.
This is the underrated Bohemian Rhapsody's brother.
queen and tf2, you have good taste
did you assume it's gender???????????

What about March of the Black Queen?
Heavy Weapons Guy bohemian rhapsody is unique
Deacy is one heck of an underrated bass player
Kayleigh Natasha it’s cause of how humble and quiet in the interviews he was, if he was more loud spoken maybe he might be getting more recognition, but in general most bass players aren’t really talked about a lot
mostly because of his quiet personality (specially compared with the other members).
It's between Deaky and John Paul Jones as to who is the most underrated bassist of all time. Both were very quiet and surrounded by crazy talent.
@@ketrapope2260 exactly
Deacon's style of bass playing feels like that of Paul McCartney's school, were the bass is not just a percussion instrument used to drive the rhythm with the drums, but as a second and discrete slide guitar with its own voice and melodies.
Probably one of the greatest songs of all time .
Assumed that was common knowledge 😉
If you really want to appreciate John Deacon and his fantastic bassline, listen to 0:13 - 0:26 wearing only your left earphone. It's amazing.
Thanks! He’s such an underrated bass player
Thank you!!!
I could hear it very well w/ the lower speaker of my iPhone as well
I only have my left earphone so it's what I always listen to.

The more I listen to this song, the more in love I am with it. One those Queen songs that incorporates literally every genre of music from baroque all the way into romanticism, with operatic passages that resolve into the hard/classic rock progression into a slow ballad to bring on the finale/big rock ending. Spread Your Wings, Dragon Attack, the whole Hot Space and Flash Gordon...

Bohemian rhapsody, millionaire waltz, and march of the black queen are much different from queen's other songs. Different style. It's growing on me more and more.
Don't forget My Fairy King as one of the very unique Freddie songs. Also White Queen even though it was written by Brian May is unlike any other song they wrote.

that bassline with piano at the beginning . was just amazing
Queen were definitely in a class of their own. They all had their own greatness to bring to the band.
They're awesome
40% of Queen's songs are masterpieces. The remaining 60% are exactly like the 40%.
One band with a thousand genre: Rock, Pop, opera, hardrock, flamenco, acapella, Jpop, etc
That only Queen can do
I think this is the most underrated song of Queen.
Bohemian Rhapsody, The Millionaire Waltz , The March Of The Black Queen and innuendo Wow Masterpieces
He struggled to write and read music
But it didn't stop Freddie being a brilliant composer
I l'd add the PROPHET'S SONG to that if we speak about all Queen song. But if we only speak about Queen's songs written by Freddie, these 4 are just OBRA DE ARTE
To make this even better (it is possible, I promise): listen through earphones/headphones. The way the bass sounds in one ear, the piano in the other, and freddie somewhere vaguely over the top of your head is incredible
Exactly, I love the bass in my left ear

@@gyomgyom6919 yeah I changed my opinion. March of the black queen it is.
We feel like millionaires while listening to this song. Happy Birthday, Mr. Mercury!
This immense work is unfairly ignored. These days, although I have known it for 40 years, I became obsessed with her expressiveness and variations. It follows the line of Bohemian Rhapsody but instead a ballad, Freddie composed using waltz and classical resources, and inserts no one but two parts of furious rock. This, basically analyzed. Put four or more chords in one measure! The piano execution is insane! The triangle that is played live by Deacon whose bass line is also extraordinary.
Their music is timeless
What talent! Pianist, vocalist, lyricist, producer! Wow!
What an underated bass player!!!

After many years of listening to this brilliance, I do believe Mozart would indeed not only have approved, but delighted in the magnificence, that is Queen.

No, much to cool to be in a Disney film, especially a modern one.
this song resumes for me the genius of "Queen" A fantastic pianist, fantastic voice, chorals, and this bass! put in that the genius of the multitracking guitars of brian may that sounds like an a opera, in this all with great lyrics and a level of composition that only a few genius can do and you have for me the best band of rock ever.

Piano and bass meet perfectly, as they often. Loved this combo!
for anyone wearing headphones: left - bass, right- piano (in the beggining of the song)
Every part of this song is brilliant. Freddies voice, his piano, the harmonies, Deacys bass, Brian’s solo ,the crescendo at the end and Rogers incredible drum fills - the whole thing is totally epic and beautiful. ADATR is prob my all round favourite album because each song is fantastic in its own right.

Great to see this gem has nearly 5m plays :) Listen to this in headphones to hear the brilliance in more brilliance! Especially the amazifying basslines of John Deacon and Brian May's orchestra of guitars. And of course Freddie's voice and piano work are magnificent too.

This is tremendous fun - and a considerable challenge - to play on the piano. It's pieces like this that illustrate what an amazing composer and pianist Freddie is. He leaves no notes unturned.
And sadly, he considered himself a mediocre pianist at best, to the point where he stopped playing onstage. What that says to me that the music he heard in his head was even grander than he could play. Amazing talent.
