Totto is the videographer and check out his channel here : / tottoshobby
    Plane: H9 Xcub 60cc
    Engine : Saito FG57TS
    Rx system : Jeti
    Wheels: PMT 10" Bushwheels
CG position : 170mm from leading edge.
This plane is a work in progress but so far looks like a keeper.
These flights where with a bit aft CG and will move cg to about 150mm for more stability in pitch.

Take some air out of those tires to lesson the bouncing. Awesome flying and airfield. I fly at home but not nearly as obstacle free and wide open as your space. Gotta build a shed like yours too.

Thanks 👍, Actually there was no air in the tires at all that day 😁

Nice touch without the spinner! It really has that Super Cub look to it. It’s amazing what a minor aesthetic change can do to a model.

One of the great frustrations is how many models have the landing gear too far forward. Might be scale but it's not fun. Nice model. Interested in these engines.

It really does look like the product vid, but with your personal touch...very nice edit...I like it!! That Saito pulls hard, and man I love watching pilots that can use the rudder! Nice slip dude! Which tires are those? I have the 8" Airtops on my 1/4 Super Cub and yours look even bigger than that. Not sure what you are using for bungees on the gear? I've seen everything... big O rings, rubber bands, actual bungees. The real bungees work best I've found on planes this size...you can tinker with how many and change the tension...looks like whatever you are using is super tight and making it bounce more. Your first few landings were way better than the gear made them look. Both my 1/5 Carbon Cub and 1/4 Super Cub would just stick with any of those landings...both have bungees we messed with til we got it like we want. Really enjoyed this one bud, and thanks for supporting us too! Honored you like our stuff, we love your channel for sure...lot of great flying!

Thanks, really do appreciate it. It was only my third flight in the plane and still looking for the proper CG. I was at 170mm in this video and it made it just a tad unstable in pitch, will bring it forward to 150mm as pr manual.
These are the German made 10" Bushwheels made by PMT.
I will look into the bungees, I'm pretty sure the gear comes with springs and that does not help the landings. I sure wish there was some some proper shocks that one can use but will try bungee next time, thank you for all the kind words and the good tips 👍👍💪

Nice change of pace with this model, and I’m reminded just how nice your set-up is there too👍🏻 maybe deflating the tires a bit will help reduce bounce too? They look a little hard right now.

    • @WarbirdPiLOT
      @WarbirdPiLOT  Před 2 lety

Thanks Stuart 👍👍 Yeah have to take a break from the warbirds once in a while. Actually the tires are quite soft and they are more or less completely deflated, it's just my technique is not up to par yet. Also it was a little bit tail heavy.

Come in with power don’t idle it in because it will bounce every time
