does this engine fit the cowl without modifications?
Hallo und guten Tag Ich habe mir auch den Storch in 1:4 gebaut, auch den gleichen Motor drin, den Einbausatz für den Roto 85 genau wie beschrieben verbaut. Nur mit der frontseitigen Luftzuführung komme ich nicht zurecht. Kannst du mir bitte genaue Bilder vom Lufteinlass in die Haube schicken. Vielen Dank schon im Voraus Grüße Thorsten

Sure, I would say very light winds, it's a light airplane.

I always get sketchy when I see guys flipping a prop and holding a transmitter with a neck strap dangling.. I once saw a guy do it on a small saito, and it dragged his hand into the prop..

Mate gorgeous, what prop size and pitch. Have the ums 180, getting Blackhorse fw 190 soon, 26x16 seems popular but I don't know about a 16 inch pitch, sounds to much. Yours seemed perfect

Thank you, this engine is running on methanol, but can be converted to gasoline. UMS sell both methanol and gas versions of these engines.

How did you locate the four valve cover holes on the cowl so perfectly? I got the same engine because of your video, and need to know for doing the same good job.
That's cool, you won't be disappointed with your choice, great little engine. It's just a lot of measuring before you make any cuts, and trial fitting... No magic trick to it, just take your time. Happy flying 👍👍
One more question…did you make any exhaust/outlet hole on the bottom of the cowl? I am wondering if the gap between cowl and fuse is good enough. I know I need at least two holes for the exhaust pipes but they could be minimal.
@@maukaonyx you need a good size hole in the bottom to get proper airflow to the engine, rule of thumb is inlet 1:3 to outlet area. I also used engine baffling to keep it operating nice and cool.

This 90r3 Saito is sound awesome. I have the same but it doesn’t have that deep warm sound eco. Beautiful set up. Big thump up for ya mate.
I bought FG60R3 from HH about middle of 2023. Bench tested it and it was hard to hand start and keep running, and it would just knock off with no real reason. Let me add that I am quite familiar with tuning all kinds of engines. (50+ yrs) I ordered the CH ignition hub and Night and Day difference. Starts after primed or fuel purged, 1st or 2nd flip by hand, And I have no plans for using electric starter. It runs smoother and has not quit the first time, and like I said the starting is effortless now. Only Bench tested so no in the air testing, But I have no fear of it just knocking off and quitting with the CH ign. Money well spent. ***Make sure you keep a check on the hub set screw. It can work loose or free up and need re-tightening after a test run or 2, Keep a close check on this til everything has seated and married well and everything is happy. Having that sling out or break would make a bad day, that is a super odd set screw. Cheers.

I love that flag blowing straight into the long slope! Nice flying.
Did that right angle exhaust adapter hold up over use? I read the stock muffler attached would cause too much strain on the adapter.
