I laughed my ass off at how freaking long the runway was for the plane in the final act. That and the chase with the tanks made me finally realize that these movies are live action Saturday morning cartoons, and I love them fo that.
Also fun fact: the Jason Statham cameo at the end was because Vin Diesal (who at the time had the most followed page on Facebook) asked fans who they would love to see as the next villain of the movie and they chose him. So everyone was stoked as fuck that there wish was granted.
Its not as long as it seems because a lot of the scenes are suppose to be happening simultaneously but film is linear, but yea still probly ridiculous lol
@@ygkemosabi8280 There was a compilation made that showed the simultaneous scenes, and the actual time on the runway is like 5 minutes - which would still be triple the length of any real runway

The F&F franchise is an extremely fun to watch. Screw the science, screw reality and lets have some fun. The best thing about, its that F&F has continuity. All the major characters have their backstory and they act around.

Doms car in that race was a Daytona Charger, and that spoiler was stock. Honestly it's more of a track car than a street race car, designed for the Daytona 500, (big wing was meant to reduce drag by a lot). It was so well designed for the track that so many races were won with the car that it ended up becomming banned by nascar officials.
So is it like the most rare charger?
I mean, there were only 503 actual daytonas ever made, so I believe it's one of the rarest muscle cars in the world.
Pretty sure the one used in this movie wasn't an actual daytona though, but a modified charger with the nose and back end fabricated for film. Rare to see an actual daytona on screen.

43:13 Apparently, and I don't know if it's 100% true, the line the Rock says about hiding his big ass forehead was adlib. Which is why Ludacris had such a genuine reaction to it by spitting out his drink. He legit broke character and laughed so hard he spit his drink out.
The best part in the movie is at 36:00 when Dom just hits the gear shift on an electric car, to move it to the exact same position and gains like 20mp/h straight away.
8 years later, I still love the Hobbs and Toretto version of the Doomsday Device.

When they did that though they didn't count for the simultaneous nature of the scenes shown though.
18.3 miles or 26 km
The highest runway at that time was 3 miles
Calculations suggest that the runway must be at least 18.37 miles (29.56 km) long for the sequence to take place, with estimates up to 28.83 miles (46.40 km). The longest paved runway at the time was Qamdo Bamda Airport at 3.42 miles (5.50 km).
And all these estimates are based on the sad failure to recognise that the different groups scenes are happening at the same god damn time…so they’d have to have the footage from the different groups of people running on the same screen at the same time in order to show the actual length of time the plane would have been taxiing for…

Actually, i think after Paul Walker died the franchise went downhill, yes Fast Five, F&F 6 and Furious 7 are a little too much but they are really good

6 was originally supposed to be in 2 parts called the fast and the furious. Thats why the 2 major endings. The bridge and the plane.
And at the end that baby oil joke. Ludacris asked the rock to say it. It wasnt in the script and he thought he wouldnt do it, but he did and Ludacris reaction was as real as it gets.
Eric is right about David Yates, he directed harry potter 5, 6, 7 part 1, 7 part 2, both fantastic beasts movies and according to imdb he's supposed to direct 3 more fantastic beasts. 😳
The next movie might be my favorite in the franchise because it goes full blown Saturday morning cartoon with the levels of ridiculousness

My theory of the runway is that everything that occurred outside and inside the plane occurred simultaneously. But the shots are apart making it seem “long”

There was also a film called Los Bandoleros that shows how Dom and Han connected. It’s placed right after fast 1. So while Brian went to Miami and ride with Roman, Han and Dom met in Mexico and started doing things in South America

"Mom, do you want to watch Superman or Fast 6?
And she said:
"Not Superman."
And so, we put Fast 6 on and when Dom flew across the bridge to save Letty, she looked at me and said:
"I SAID NOT SUPERMAN DAMN IT!"
That is one of my most cherished memories.

you know, i think this is the movie where the insanity turns up to eleven. like yeah, driving a bank vault through the streets of Rio was pretty crazy, but aside from that the movie was a pretty standard action/bank heist movie with some Family and cool cars thrown in. this one though, this is where the writers have officially said "screw it"
