Leatt's Moto 8.5 and 9.5 are the newest addition to Leatt's motocross helmet lineup and build off the previous successes of their 5.5 and 6.5 helmets, taking feedback from some of the top riders like Justin Hill, Ryan Sipes, and Jonny Walker. Featuring 360° Turbine Technology which offers up to 30% reduction of head impact at concussion level and up to 40% reduction of rotational acceleration to head and brain,reducing forces associated with concussion. Breaking the mold once again, Moto 8.5 helmets will include Leatt's Velocity 5.5 goggle while the Moto 9.5 will include a Velocity 6.5 goggle to ensure a proper fit and stylish helmet/goggle combo.

All off road helmets should have internal sip tubes. It's a game changer for all of us who hate a mouth full of mud/grit/cow crap from a mouth piece that's flapping around your chest. It's a huge selling point to me on this helmet and the Alpinestars SM8/10 👍👍
Is leatt visor breakaway system like the MVRS on Fox helmet?

Man, that's a tough question since I haven't ridden in this helmet yet. But, the build quality feels really good and it's very light. Both are comfortable helmets. I think I'd still choose a 6D just because I've had mine for a while and really like it and the ODS technology, I think is awesome. - Chase
The prior helmet had a more rounded internal head shape versus intermediate oval. Has the internal shape of these been updated?
The fit of this helmet is totally different than the old so I'd assume it fits an intermediate-oval head shape better. I tried it on and it was very comfortable. - Chase

How would you rate these helmets with a bell moto 9? I trust bell and have been wearing them for years but might make a change this year
Personally, I would choose this helmet over a bell moto-9. It's lighter and I actually think it's more comfortable. They do have the 7.5 coming out very shortly that will be very similar but probably have a poly carbonate shell and be less expensive. - Chase
Is 6d the only manufacturer that offers a replacement of the inner liner?
As to my knowledge, yes. But I can't remember off the top of my head if other companies do or not. I know some companies you can send your helmet in and have them inspected if you're not sure if the EPS has been compromised. - Chase
Does the eye port accommodate the Scott prospects?
I haven't tried this helmet on with the prospects so I can't give a definite answer, but I would imagine they do. But that is why we have our fit guarantee. If you don't like the fit, even with goggles, then you can exchange it for another with free shipping.
Have they changed the chinstrap bracket to stainless due to the history of rusting?
I'm not totally sure. I hadn't heard of any problems with their chin straps rusting. - Chase

Is there any chance to get the 9.5 in color other than black?
Unfortunately, Leatt only makes the 9.5 in the black colorway currently.
Hi, I was wondering if Leatt's helmet size is the same as Fox? I mean, for the same size specification, would Leatt be larger or smaller? I am wearing a Fox v2 right now with size XXL. Should I buy XXL for Leatt helmet? I would appreciate it if you could give me some advice.
I would get the same size in the Leatt as you wear in a Fox. I wear a medium in both. And honestly, I think the Leatt if more comfortable than the Fox - Chase

What happened to the new 2021 7.5 helmet? I saw it on the site same time as these but it was gone by the end of the week.
Early 2021. Will replace the 4.5.
They had plans to release a 7.5 but I'm guessing that due to inventory shortages/issues, they decided to wait til late December or early January to release it when they actually have them. - Chase

Will Cardo packtalk bold fit into this helmet?
I haven't tried so I'm not sure. My guess would be yes but can't say for certain. - Chase
I have the Cardo freecom 4x and that fits great in my 9.5 carbon.
would you choose the 8.5 helmet or the SE5 TLD helmet?
I haven't ridden a ton in either helmet, but both are very comfortable and lightweight. I'd probably go with the TLD if I had to choose. But it's hard to beat the price of a 9.5 carbon or 8.5 right now and they come with a goggle. - Chase
Why does the helmet peak sit so high up? Wouldn't that be a big wind catcher?
Not very aerodynamic.
i newly bought one of this. unboxing check thoroughly for any defect as we dont want spend money on defect item. unfortunately i found on left corner of visor has paint peeling off. contact seller and leatt. waiting for solution and advice on this. Hope Chase may help on this. thank you

The 7.5 won't have the Pro-Fit liner or the visor extender.

I don't get it. They released a 2020 model at the end of the year of 2020
The 8.5 and 9.5 are all-new 2021 models, first available last month.
The visor is a total deal breaker. The extension just makes it worse. Why do so many company's make their helmets look like Fox clones with non adjustable Gomer Pyle visors?
The rest of the helmet looks good.
