Great helmet!👍
would you say this is a dirt only helmet or is it ok for roaduse too? I know its DoT & ece22.06 approved but does it destroy your ears on the highway?
We get this question often - how do MX helmet's helmets perform for on-road use? The simple answer is not very well at highway speeds. Further more there's very little difference between brands / models in this regard. There's no getting around a MX visor hanging off your helmet OR MX goggles at 70 MPH. It's just not an ideal situation. It you're spending a fair amount of time at highway speeds we'd highly recommend going with a true dual helmet with a faceshield. These dual sport helmets have visor that are designed for use at higher speeds. Most of them will also accommodate goggles should you take a run at tighter trail riding. If you'd like some suggestions let us know.
@@SpeedAddictsTV would it still protect you if you face un unfortunate fall on asphalt?
@@SpeedAddictsTV Hi! Thinking of getting this for mostly commuting. Seems to offer the best protection with the rotational protection. I am concerned about highway commuting though... how would you guys say it fares at highway speeds WHEN the visors are taken off? I doubt this helmet is compatible with any visor?
I am 58.5 cm , right between M and L, which size would have a greater chance of fit me ok?
If you are in between sizes, we would recommend the size Large.
I have a MIPS helmet that's very uncomfortable because the MIPS doesn't conform to the shape of my melon. Can you feel the 360 turbine inserts on the Leatt 9.5?
Some versions of MIPS liners can have drawbacks. Typically we hear that can increase heat and complicate servicing the helmets liner. Comfort issues are a less frequent complaint, but will come up occasionally.
Leatt's 360 turbine system is free of any of the issues mentioned above. It's unlikely you'd notice the turbines unless you were bald. The material is supple and comfortable even on long rides. Other MIPS alternatives include the Fly Racing Formula helmets with Rheon and 6D ODS helmets (ATR-1 / ATR-2). If you're looking for light weight we'd suggest the Leatt or Fly carbon helmets.
Thanks for the question Frank
