    I have this helmet and for a while I was unsure if it even had any ece standards but now that I'm sure after checking it I love it even more. The helmet looks better than other helmets and I got it for cheap too!

    I have recently had a serious crash while wearing this helmet on a very hard packed motocross track. I was going over a roller in a left hand corner then was thrown off quite severely, hitting my head and hip hard on the ground.
    All crashes are different but im just giving others an idea of how this helmet ended up for me.
    The helmet was badly cracked on the lower yellow part on the back and also including half of the red shown here 8:34. The crack went right through the yellow to the liner and almost through the red section to the liner, It was a very hard hit to the ground.
    I have no idea what technology/materials in the helmet worked or done what but i guess it worked and i could have been a lot worse off.
    I ended up pretty concussed and sore. After a trip to the emergency room and some scans, all which came back normal, i was ok.
    I purchased this helmet because of the intended safety features and style and i guess it all worked to a point.

    I got one and I love it. It is super light compared to my HJC helmet. You have to remove the nose guard on the %100 Armega goggle for those to fit properly.

    All Emergency check pad removal systems on all helmets should be the exact same way to be removed.
    This is so Emergency people do not have to guess how the system is removed wasting valuable time and possibly hurting the rider.
    Excellent review.

    That is a really cool version of the mips with that stretchable liner. I think alpinestars is the very next brand to rider safety next to leatt and 6d. This helmet is really good. Appreciate these videos you guys are doing, very informing

    I had the opportunity to try this helmet on. A little snug putting it on and taking it off. But actually wearing the helmet was fine. Squished my cheeks a little but still felt fine. I wear a size large. Do these normally go on and off snug?

    I'm trying to decide between this helmet and the leatt 7.5 helmet. I love the style of this one, and the visor is great. The price is also a bit cheaper than the leatt. For the leatt, I like how it comes with goggles, so that makes up for the higher cost. I do want a helmet that fits the best and feels very comfortable. What do you think?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  Před rokem

      Man, that is a tough choice. From a comfort standpoint, I'd probably go with the 7.5 - Chase

    I have a 2022 Thor Sector helmet I got last May when getting my first bike. I just hit 60hrs on my bike and figured it was time to get a better helmet. Would it be worth getting this as a safety upgrade or go to the Fox V3 or Bell Moto 9s Flex? I do trail riding and hills climbs on my 250 2 stroke

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  Před 5 měsíci

      I think this helmet will be lighter and vent better than your Sector, but I can't say how much of an upgrade it will be with safety. I don't care for the 9S Flex much due to the weight. It is probably the heaviest premium helmet in it's price range and I don't feel like it ventilates that well. The new Fox V3 is a good helmet with good venting, lightweight, and the MIPS liner.
      Personally, the two most comfortable helmets I've owned is the Fly Formula and the Shoei VFX-EVO. The Formula and Formula CC share the same technology but the CC model just has less carbon in the shell. The Shoei doesn't have all the latest and greatest safety tech that some of the other companies have, but the Japanese have been making helmets for a very long time and know how to make a great helmet. It's a close second in fit and comfort and I've said this in other videos, the build quality of a Shoei is second to none. - Chase

    Is it possible for the front mouth piece to come off? I really don’t like the orange on the front but the rest of the helmet looks awesome, just ordered one this morning and probably going to repaint the orange to black, would look much more sleek

      @rmatvmc  Před 4 lety +3

      Head to head, I would argue the V2 has more safety features built in. However, the M5 is and FEELS quite a bit lighter, and I like the fit a little more. - Chase

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  Před 4 lety +4

      That is a tough question. With the M5, you don't have the MIPS liner system but you have the different densities of EPS, better comfort liner, and a much lighter feeling helmet. In terms of safety, it's hard to know which is best. Personally, I would take the M5 over the MX-9 MIPS. - Chase

    • @kevinrowe3272
      @kevinrowe3272 Před 2 lety

      If the crown of your head fits properly, the cheek pads may just need to break in. Otherwise, you should be able to get more narrow cheek pads. When putting it on, make sure you are holding the helmet by the straps and pulling them apart as you put it on so it compresses the cheek pads.
