"There are two things that smells like fish. One of them is fish..."
This got me laughing so hard
"And the other one is cephalopods?"
"No, man. You know..."
"Your balls?"
1:26 Man, that thing never lands on "cat" or "dog" I'm glad it finally did when they used it for John Wick.
It landed on “prize” for PAYBACK 😉😁
There's only two things that smell like fish... That's an epic line right there
If I didn't know any better, I'd say you have a particular affinity for this sort of fare.
I know. I'm not sure though.
"Michael is deflecting in coming mortars, with the power of his own machiiiismo" hahaha funny as ff - uck
Yet another brilliant review, I was laughing non-stop, both thumbs up pointing your way my good sir.
My favorite bit was.... "she gave him that look... and you know what that means...." and I kinda said entire quote before the actual captions came up on the screen :D
Thank you! :)
"There are two things that smell like fish. One of 'em is fish." Haha This joke pleases me.
Ah it's always a good day when another GoodBadFlicks comes out.
Curious, have you seen Neon City? Another post-apocalyptic film and pretty decent one. It also has the distinction of being maybe the only time I've seen Michael Ironside cast as not just a hero, but the leading man.
Water might be their most precious resource, but it's nice to see that most of them still make sure their clothes are washed, that David Carradine's jeep is clean despite all the dust, and most of the men shave regularly.
never heard of this movie. but I love how David caradine had to be either Asian or native in practically every movie.
so much more mystery behind such a character. I'd say it's a safe bet to say even if the character wasn't written that way, he was going to ensure that's how it was portrayed.
“I’m gonna sit down”😂😂😂
Now I can relate! The mustachioned guy Ricardo is Dante Varona, and the warrior woman Miranda is Tetchie Agbayani. Dante Varona was an action star in the Philippines in action films produced like b-movies. He does all the stunts as he started out as a stuntman before becoming a main star. He stopped being an actor when action movies declined. Techie Agbayani was once a Playboy playmate, being a cover of Playboy Germany in July 1982. She plays sexy leading lady character who is either raped by the bad guys (and goes out with the good guy later for revenge) or being chased on a shallow river (in slow motion) by the bad guys in an attempt to rape her while she’s doing the laundry (by the river) only to be saved by the good guy. (This is a common trope in Philippine action movies.) She now plays supporting roles as either a mother of the protagonist or a benevolent woman.
"Sunrise?! I ordered sunset!" -- Alf, inspecting his new checks.
..."Except for that guy." 😂
For a world where water is scare, Val sure has nice clean hair.
I can't believe that you have been doing this for a least years. I watch the older ones and your profression as a story teller and comedian has been tremendous. You could redo the old ones and they would be fresh and new again. And the exploring part is very interesting and learn so much about things I did not know I would had been interested in. Thank you so much for your content. I find this world of film fascinating and you must obviously do a great deal of research for each one.
Thanks! Back when I started I was just doing this on the side while I had a regular full time job. (I wasn't even using my own recording equipment in the beginning) I've since switched to doing this full time and trying over time to improve the various aspects of the videos. I've redone a few of the older ones and some of the ones I wasn't happy with when I first released them. :)
Awesome review by itself - that Czech poster at 10:00 makes it a home run for me, though!
haha nice Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood reference!
great as always, thanks vor the work and care you put in your videos!
I'd rather have Robert Carradine as my wingman. He pulls cheerleaders. Another post-apocalyptic film I think you'd love is "The Blood of Heroes" starring Rutger Hauer. I only saw it once, but I thought it was amazing for a B film.
Yes Blood of Heroes! Thanks I forgot about that one. 1989 with Joan Chen.
Joan Chen, of Twin Peaks fame...and yes, Blood of Heroes is a pretty great B-movie.
Blood of heroes is legit.
You always know within 5 seconds of the video exactly what he thinks of the movie. Fun jokey mood = recommended film.
-"There's only two things that smells like fish"
"One of them's fish"
-"And the other is the Obligatory Sex Scene!" Giggity. alright....
Water is a precious resource and Carradine dumps out his water cup in front of the village. That is a true hero
I've never seen Dune Warrior. David Carradine playing a similar role to his role in The Warrior and the Sorceress.
One of my favorite channels I've recently found. Love what you do, man.
holy shit I've been trying to remember the name of this movie for years thought I'd made it up or something . thanks .
I know everyone loves your exploring videos but these fun and loving videos tributin and poking a bit of fun at B Movies will always be my favorite of your videos.
"message" 😂goddammit cecil 😂and i love the dentist
Bruhh been watching ur videos for weeks just started liking buttt ulyr videos are like a class you teach what the directors do the budget the actors the sets all that you're the best I wanna make my own movie amd I'm lowkey watching all of your videos for advice and like a study class taking notes on the good and the bad and everything keep up the good work I hope you see this comment even in a video so far
Thanks!
Jazz hands!
In the opening and the final battle, Carradine is wearing the exact same costume he wore in The Warrior and the Sorceress.
Your videos where always great, but they keep getting better. Loved the little "who killed his...." game. Keep it up, my good man.
Mark McLaughlin I think it's from a game show from the 80s. Forgot the name. :(
Press Your Luck ! Surprised you didn't use the Whammy.
LB74 Thank you for the answer. :)
RATS !!! I thought this was the sequel to 1984's Dune.
Philip Bourne no one said it WASN'T or you couldn't PRETEND it was... :D
David Carradine uses the same outfit and sword from The warrior and the sorcerer
Keenen's " Message" classic from the so awesomely named movie "Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood". Love to see your take on that movie. #LoveYourWork
It's like the magnificent seven crossed with a brain tumour. What's the other thing that smells like fish by the way?
WillyDIreland
So seven Samurai set in the post apocalypse.
Peanut butter.
You guys need to do "Virtuosity" - bland and kind of wierd 90s Action/SciFi with two great performances, including the debut of Russel Crowe.
Love that movie. But wasn't Romper Stomper Russels first film?
made my day again \o/ thanks a lot
Love these reviews.
LOL the black outfit at the end was the same one he wore in Warrior & The Sorceress
0:58 "Kill him now. Do it."
TheBlackKnight1o1 but its not the Jedi way
@10:00 you actualy used the cover from my country. Czech Rep! awsome
mr santiago what a legend 😂😂
you should do Hardware, post apocalyptic Sci fi with cutting edge early 90s industrial soundtrack, a killer cyborg, and Dylan McDermott...
I interviewed Richard Stanley a few months back for about an hour and then chatted with him for an hour after. Great guy, really open and honest. Was so insightful and was just heartbreaking to hear about how screwed over by the studio. He had some great ideas lined up for movies that will most likely never happen. Hardware is one of my all time favorite films so it was an joy to be able to discuss this with him. He offered even more knowledge about the film that I didn't know.
GoodBadFlicks cool, thanks for the reply, great channel, thanks for catching me up on all the b-flicks I missed...Hardware is one of the first weird movies I saw back in the day...the vein roaches stayed with me...
"Message!" LMAO love it
Looks freaking awesome
that fish line is true af
David Carradine was here..because he got paid. This is an average Cirio Santiago film which means it's entertaining. I also love Jillian McWhirter. Great channel.
Great review :D
All true fighters fight without pants. It's a philosophy I have embraced, despite it costing me places during karate tournaments.
i love this type of video
Warhammer 40k reference? Nice!
Imaginary Star Studios What time?
When he mentions the bad guy's "drive me closer, I want to hit them with my sword!" thing, a l the classic: i.ytimg.com/vi/tytiJ6AJmos/maxresdefault.jpg
Gonkey knows his stuff ;]
I'd forgotten that meme
Actually, speaking of Warrior and the Sorceress, that's the same sword David is carrying around!
Thanks for pointing out that one, since I have the VHS in my collection, I had no other choice than watching it. And it was indeed very good. Despite the thin plot, it's never get boring, since it's a kinda short movie with plenty of action. Dune Warriors is really an above average post-apocalyptic flicks!
"Who uses a shotgun during a sneaking mission?!"
Let me direct you to a man known as DarkSydePhil, whose first instinct when playing Metal Gear Solid 3's legendary sniper duel against The End was "Where the fuck's my shotgun?!" Nothing says sneaky sniper duel like whipping out a scatter gun!
I love that picture of roger corman because he looks like he's fighting david Lo Pan but we can see that magic laser.
8:48 I swear that's the same outfit Carradine wore in Wizards of the Lost Kingdom 2.
20 seconds into to it and I'm pretty sure those first 2 buildings that exploded were supposed to be/look like hard-walled structures and clearly they were tents. Like, let's go through the effort to get material that has solid wall pattern...and then just blow it up with a small enough blast to where everyone will clearly see it's just a tent on fire. fantastic.
"Where's Bill?" He's leading the post apocalypse. XD
Mad props (do the kids still say that?) on including the Press Your Luck bit.
HAH! You actually included Press Your Luck! Another 80's great!
David Carradine working for Roger Corman is better than Leslie Neilson working for Mel Brooks.
All hail the mighty Squib! Practical affects rock!
"Who uses a shotgun during a stealth mission??"
She needs to play more Metal Gear :P
I was wondering if you, or someone else who loves these type of movies, could help identify an early 70s post-apocalyptic movie. The main thing I remember is a guy (I remember someone who looks like James Franciscus) is travelling with all of these hot tough women... they come upon a fortress of some kind... they ask him -- "How do you take care of all these women"... he answers -- "I don't take care of them, they take care of me". I could of swore it had a name like Steel Magnolias (not the Debra Winger movie), but I've not been able to find it. I was in pre-school when I saw it at a drive-in, but never seen it since.
Another great vid; your commentary made me laugh out loud a few times.
Some comments on this one:
• The actress who played Val was lovely; you ought to review her other films.
• Why has motorcycle jousting not become a mainstream thing? It looks like tons of fun.
Thanks! :)
As far as motorcycle jousting, I'm sure someone has done it somewhere for real and they most likely ended up in the hospital.
Did you notice that David carridine is wearing the same warrior costume twice, that he wore in "the warrior And the soceress".
I enjoyed that one. All the yojimbo takes. Have you done "last Man standing " with Bruce Willis. Please do.
Thanks.
So Michael fights William. And in the future becomes BILL? Whoa trippy.
You were wondering where the barbed wire came from, but I'm much more intrigued by the swords. How do you forge swords in a post-apocalyptic world?! WHO forged them and with what? Forging requires skill, fuel, water and several purified materials they likely don't have any access to. You can find barbed wire in the wrecked buildings or some accidentally burried storage unit (they sure had no trouble finding impecably preserved plastic yellow shades). Swords in the modern world are usually movie props, useless decorative memorabilia or rare as shit. They could easily make a sword be of great value in this kind of context, but nah, let's waste a good plot point and give everyone a blade!
Wait a minute. A village is attacked by bandits, a villager goes off and hires warriors, warriors teach village to fight back, while some villagers have a problem with the warriors? Sounds like the director watched the Akira Kurosawa classic, The Seven Samurai, a bunch but had no idea what they were doing with the idea.
Ahhh, another apocalyptic movie...yeah!Bring a beer so we can get groggy while watching this movie
4:00
4:10 "MIRAAAAAANDA JENKINS!!"
Great review.
"You want our food and water? Sure. You want more water next week? Well, I guess you'll have to let us keep enough food and water to get through the week then. We put all our extra food and water over here. Help yourself. All we ask is that you and your boys don't let anybody do no killing or raping or thieving 'round here. We can't make any food or water if we're all scared for our lives and trying to hold funerals every day.
Pleased to meet you Logistics, my name's Economics.
Cecil, you cracked me up when you review these post-apocalyptic B-movies.
There are some naturally gorgeous women in this movie, especially Val.
Ummm ..have you ever done a review of I Come In Peace? I can't seem to find it in your videos ... awesome reviews btw .. the commentary is hilarious :-))
Hahahahaha, this has got to one of the best CZcams channels!
Thank you!
I hate when my cardboard house painted to look like stone gets blown up.
Nothing goes better than summer heat and post-apoc movies.
That's chilling :D.
Yes and no.
I'll get back with you soon mate.
7:35 was that a Warhammer reference? Sneaky bugger!
you're like regular car reviews for movies
Carradine also worked with Corman in BOXCAR BERTHA directed by a young Martin Scorsese
1:17 David Caradin fresh off the set of Wizards of the Lost Kingdom 2.
damn that's mah boi Sergio. btw the location is somewhere north of PH. Ilocos I think.
Gotta mention how that guy is dressed up exactly like Ash from Army of Darkness
1:34 Come On! No Whammies!
Dune Warriors. A very cheesy and badly made film released in theaters in Bossier City, La in 1991 for only a week only to be forgotten. David Carradine. Long forgotten now.
Jason looks like Bono
i love a cheap post apocalyptic film the cheaper the better, great video sir big thumbs up.
Wait the evil villain is called William, that’s the least intimidating name I’ve ever heard
No whammies, no whammies, no whammies STOP!!!
I would rather watch this movie than the latest ghostbusters...
I'd rather watch a lot of things than the latest Ghostbusters.
If one of them is fish 🐟 the oth.. oh never mind 😀
Anybody notice the misspelling on the DVD cover?
You should do some of the Italian post-apocalypse films... or any of the many knock-off films from Italy during the 70s/80s. Italy really mastered b-cinema knock-offs. I'm not even sure why Italy had such a large hold on that portion of the industry, would be fun to explore.
How is everyone clean shaven in this post apocalyptic world??
Will you ever review the other Deathstalker movies? I really wanna hear your take on *that* fight scene from the third.
love your channel. wish you would do one for John Favreau's Cowboys vs Aliens, an excellently made western and above average alien invasion movie.
Somebody was watching Mag 7 while high again lol
