A guy that worked there just posted a video about his experience working there and said they strongly tell employees not to open the consoles except if there is rattling on the inside, given its the wii, its common it only collects dust inside around the fan area because of how small and compact it is
They also changed the warranty on their website that the sticker basically means you got the console from them

I'm no DK Oldies fan nor a customer because their pricing is a bit higher at times. But let's be fair, this is a hard thing to determine if they cleaned it or not in some cases. I know people who bought Nintendo Wii's when they came out or other consoles and barely touched them and then one day got rid of everything in a garage sale. So it is possible that some systems do come in perfectly fine and a simple can of compressed air will do the trick. Now with things like swollen capacitors, defective disc drives, old thermal paste etc., if you claim you refurbish a device, then true refurbishing means attending to all those deficiencies before slapping a higher price tag on something and calling it a day when we all know said device can be found at cheaper prices in the same conditions elsewhere. So in my mind there is some reason to be critical of DK Oldies selling tactics. Everyone is going to receive a system in various condition. Is DK truly slacking on their claims or was the customer just fortunate enough to receive a barely used console that was traded in and really didn't need much in the way of cleaning or repair?

How can you take apart consoles and put them back together
I just pile up all the hardware in sections so I can reverse the steps when I’m done. Definitely messed up a few times tho lol
Some consoles are easier than others, usually older ones(NES, SNES) are easiest to work on, original Xbox and PS1 are pretty simple too, Wii and more modern consoles use alot of smaller/proprietary screws and components making it a little more annoying but still very possible

I'm glad you had a good experience and you deserve it since you paid for it. To me though, it doesn't matter if they put out a few or many good consoles. The amount of bad ones is so exorbitant that it has to be taken into account when buying from them

Pfffhhht warranty is bull anyway you still be in warranty and have everything intact like receipts and everything and you actually register your item and they still like sorry can't warranty it to fix it it will cost you 400..... But it broke on its own 😂😂😂 what do you mean it's going to cost me. I've had something similar to that happen i just can't remember what it was it was to long ago and they just don't want to like lose money now.
