It's been a while since I've seen such a well done review on anything on CZcams. I've got a sudden interest in FPV quads lately and this review makes me really feel like I know what I'm getting into when I get this quad. You really went above and beyond on this review. Thank you!
+Xemphios Thanks for the kind words. Exactly what I'm aiming for in all of my reviews 😁👍🍻
Dustin Dunnill You're welcome! I subbed after watching this video, so I'm sure I'll be watching more of your reviews. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for a a Great Review!!!! Man you covered everything. Just bought one and thanks to you I actually know something about the quad. Keep up the awesome work!!!
Thanks Dustin for the great review. Watching all your fpv racer review videos.
I love my wizard,I got the rtf version with a receiver ,all I had to do was lock tight all the nuts and bolts throw on some decent props ,and then heat shrink the antennas to zip ties and I was ready to go.....and go I went ...love it when I’m in the air....and for first timers tryin to arm the quad out of the box,u have to turn on everything then hold the right stick ....down right for a second to,arm quad ....awesome vid ...cheers from australia
Those were some epic wrecks; well done! Good flying too. I have that quad and it was my first racer. I have always been impressed by it.
Dustin ur the realist rc reviewer out there, responding to everyone's questions. Don't stop keep up the fpv drone vids👍
+Gaming with mike Thanks buddy. I try to keep it real 🙂✌
"holy smokes we have smoke" 🤣🤣🤣
LOVE this review. very entertaining. subscribed!
Always the best reviews :)) keep it up, and cool intro ;)
Thank you :)
Great video! This is my first drone so I must have watched 20 videos about setting this thing up and really getting nowhere. This was the perfect video for a noob like me. You actually touched on every point that all the others missed. Thanks!
Right on Keith 👍
Dustin, I saw both your Wizard videos and noticed you didn’t know where to put the antennas. I used the zip ties to mount them to the rear stand offs. I angled them in at the bottom and probably get 60-70 degrees.
Once again. Another awesome video Dustin. Thanks for all the hard work. :)
Unfortunate mishap at the end but its apart of flying fpv ya gunna crash
Thanks Brad. Crashing happens :)
Man this is a nice drone! It'll definitely be my first once I saved up enough to buy one. Thanks for the review!! I'll be starting this hobby soon!! I really can't wait
Definitely the wrong drone to get, for getting into fpv in 2023 try the tinyhawk freestyle 3 or to or any other drone, the wizard is very outdated
Great job! You presented a lot of really useful information. Thanks.
excellent review, im ordering one now :) looks like a great little machine. I fly mostly DJI big boys but this one will be a lot of fun. Getting stronger props tho :)
What's up my brother, very cool wizard.thanks for the great video Im watching right now.cheers and happy flying!
Hey, Hope you enjoy the carnage :)
Dustin Dunnill Lol I always enjoy brother.
Excellent informative video, will help me tremendously as I am awaiting the delivery of my very first Wizard....so much to learn....but as a retired person going into a new hobby plenty of time to get things right or wrong lol....hooked on drones I just keep progressing from toy grades up to this awesome monster...keep up the good work 👍
Really good crash test I feel like buying this. you fly better than I do. I'm also feeling the walkera furious or runner as opposed to the dji mavic.... thanks for the flight tips on beta flight that was a good touch
Best review on Eachine Wizard X220!
+Zoltan Gremsperger Thanks for the kind words. Glad you think so 😉👍
Nice video very much details its very good i will buy it soon love you❤️🤜🏻🤛🏻
This thing looks amazing, thanks for the review!
I'ts awesome. Just be careful on 4s and do what I mention in the vid if you use 4s.
Hey Dustin, cool review! I can always expect the Dustin Durability Test(TM) in your videos. That's definitely something you don't get in most reviews.
Yeah those stock propellers are terrible. I destroyed the stock props in the first session so I replaced them with Dalprop T5045c Cyclones and after a bunch of crashes I'm still on the first set. Joshua Bardwell has a cool video with a vbat hack for battery monitoring.
Edit: Please take your props off when you're hooked up to betaflight!
Thanks Wes. I've gotten so good at crashing in the most peculiar ways..lol
Yes, props off when in betaflight! I got lazy since they take so much work to put on and decided to make the setup vid at the last minute.
I'm buying this just because of the positive video
i agree S Smith your videos are the best.
I was watching one of your videos and it was on the AOSENMA CG025 and i had to by it. i like the way it looks. Keep it up with the videos. Im sure i made a great choise. A lot of the drones you review i do like seeing them pretty dang intresting how many different one's there are. I hope you get more Subs to get the Silver play button. im sure you will get there. Well keep up the great work.
those props looked bad because of the jello!
great video again
Finn
Hi. Very helpfull, thanks for that video. Cheers 🍻
i have never like racing drones but you made me like them
Mission accomplished :) Glad you enjoyed it Dalton.
Dalton Eastling same I have always built and raced rc cars, now all I can do is dream of drones lol. so far I have the upair one, the brushless logger, 2 symas (I'm sure I misspelled that) and a no nano, now I need the wizard with fatsharks that's my next purchase.
Yes
Nice video, I have a wizard they are great quads.
love you're reviews Dustin. Try an review the logger xterm one and see what u think about it.
Thanks. I'll see if i can get one.
Wow I've been flying 4s forever on mine never lost an esc- never used their props now I'm glad. Replace standoff screws with 12mm for rigidity. Liked your review and subbed!
what 4s battery did you use? sorry i know your comment is old
Im so glad that I swapped out the original props for Dalprops! The originals were showing white stress marks around the hubs.
Thanks for your information nice video
Great thorough review 👍😎
Thanks John
Your very welcome Dustin 😎
I have that one and 3s is the way to go 👍 thanks for sharing 👍
Omg this is the best racing quad, I bought everything listed off bangood for 450 aud whixh was exactly my budget and it is so so fast
Im gonna buy it too😂🥵
I’m hoping to buy it
Im gonna buy it too, but it doesn't come with goggle right? And if i wanna do fpv do i need to fit another fpv transmitter or does it come with the quad?
Year later and its good for first month then starts to degrade fast, motors kept cutting out and esc shorted 20 times over, vtx broke randomly as soon as it landed from a flight, frame snapped only 4 months in and i only crashed once, its great for a month then after its crap, dont buy get a different quad and notice not for begginers at all factory settings are bullshit and overall quad is 2/10
It's 200 now.
First off.... freakin bad ass and thorough review !!! 2nd... I have a wizard which I ordered from grayson hobby in Georgia, im in TX, cost 20 bucks more, but they make sure all screws are tight, vtx works, cam works, it flys ect.... but they also tune it, enabling all three flight modes, and turn airmode on. With that said, i have litterly had Zero issues with mine besides i broke my vtx due to a crash my 1st flight which is common, but ordered an upgrade with my wizard and been good since. all that on 3s lipos.. which ive flown 40-50 batts so far..... read many people saying not to run 4s, but the manufacturer states the 20a ecs can handle 2-4s batts , therefore I expect it to do just that. With alllll that said.... im excited bout the 4s batts which i get in 2 days, and I LOVE my wizard !!!!! 1st quad and no regrets what so ever.
ps.... If you have any PID advice, id greatly appreciate it kind sir
4s may give you issues but I hope not. disarm quickly in a crash and don't use the stock props :)
Excellent as always.
holy shit I just bought this on sale...this is incredible deal.
Awesome channel you have !!!

So regarding my last comment i gave in and ordered the Wizard and a 1s lipo charger for my Tiny Whoops. Great video , thanks Dustin.
Lol.. the bug has bitten you bad. Have fun. Careful on 4s and locktite them screws! The KingKong 210GT had the same loose screw issue. Part 2 coming soon for that.
ya i glue everything , your right tho the bug bit me good . i bought the Holybro Shuriken X1 as-well and loving every minute of my flying experience with all my quads and yes fpv. i think that i have come a long way in just a year.
I'm thinking about getting this for my first quad, as I understand it's possible to limit the power through programming so it's not as touchy right away. I was also really glad to have you crash (there's no good way of saying that) because I know I'll do that a fair amount, especially when just starting out.
Always disarm in a event of control lost or crash, motor was trying to spin and fried the ESC. Also, No beeper out of the box so time your flights and feel the throttle.
Yes, in a best case scenario you want to disarm immediately. I think it took me a few seconds so this may have caused the fire. Or just the hard initial hit into the fence.
Great stuff. Cleanflight and Betaflight are not hard to learn. You did a good job explaining Betaflight. The new Cleanflight is very similar.
Thanks. I like how it's getting easier and easier with the interface :)
finnaly :)
love the vid
Thanks. It was lots of fun :)
wonderful video. How to buy better nuts ? could you send us the link because the default propellers are so loose, or they are to short to tight when I install in the motors.
Very nice ! :-) Thank you!
I bought one if these and I'm pretty sure when I read the manual it clearly stated not to use any battery over 3s and now I see why. Thanks for doing so I didn't have find out the hard way lol
heyyy dustin nice video and to beat how good it was you did it just in time for the upgraded wizard the x220s to come out, can we expect a review on that?
Hey. Thanks. Yes, I've got one coming for review and will try to review it sooner than later :)
cool that will decide if i buy it :)
Nice work bro
oh thanks Dustin
Love the candy cane!!
nice Video, which antennas do you use?
hey Dustin, the same exact thing happened to mine on 4S and it's got everything to do with those cheap King Kong propellers. at least yours didn't Terror your Triumph fpv antenna off by actually ripping the VTX SMA connector out of it 90 degree coupling. I am so glad that the only one this happened to although I do not wish you any problems whatsoever. I purchased some dial prop t5040 V2 and it has flown like a dream every since although I did upgrade the firmware to the latest version of betaflight. it's also tuned four 3s so you might want to do a little tweaking and recalibrate the speed controls and accelerometer and add your 3 flight modes to the three position switch on Channel 6. those propellers are just too stiff and brittle!!! they literally chirp and say Cheep Cheep Cheep Cheep Cheep:).
other than putting some longer screws in the standoff which actually comes in the kit most of the time and possibly changing out the VTX so your antenna points straight out the back rather than makes that turn pointing straight up it is without a doubt the best 220 sized race quad on the market for the money without a shadow of a doubt!!! that top plate also is just too thin and you cannot get by without the side plates unless you get a thicker top plate but you figured most of this out immediately in this video from what I can tell even though I didn't have a chance to watch the entire thing. the standoffs are just not made out of as strong of aluminum as some of the higher priced kits and the screws themselves are also softer so it's just a really good idea to put longer screws in at least if you don't want to purchase new standoffs and new screws. one of the best upgrades I have made thus far other than the props and the Triumph antenna + 25200 + 600 digital readout VTX has been the Runcam Swift 2 camera with the rotor Riot wide-angle GoPro 2 lens!!!. I just called the rest of your video or the most important part where you just pretty much figured out everything I just said LOL:)
happy flying man and excellent review as always!!!!!!!
What are your favorite goggles? Both with ability to see thru glasses type and regular. I really need some good info.
Hey Dustin! Long time viewer that also flies, and has Wizards! I started a Wizard X220 group on Facebook that has 2000 owners! Love my Wizard! I am running 5s these days! Super fast :)
+Josh Ketchum Right on Josh. Whoa 5s?! It must scream 😮
On new props this drone is 😍
I'm a noob. Does it make the drone faster?
amazing !! how many minutes of flight time
Dustin thanks again for a great review. I'm debating whether to get one of these to up my game in fpv. I got the Rodeo 150- after watching again one of your excellent reviews and love it. But do you think this is a better upgrade? Like you said the price is right. Any advice nod help will be much appreciated. Thanks George. Safe and happy flying buddy. :)
What do you think of this drone present day for a starter racer? My son is an amazing LOS pilot with about 1.5 years experience flying "toy" drones (ie Propel, Skyviper, etc)
Run a decent thickness zip tie off the arms hold the radio receiver antennas along side them. Then use heat shrink to slide over both antenna and zip tie and shrink together. Also run the zip tie on the bottom of the arm and then after you have done all that put double sided tape on the bottom over ziptie that goes around the arm for landing protection. Ps when I say off the arm I mean horizontally pointing forward or backwards that’s up to you. So antannas will run the same direction as the bottom plate
You are a beast double D!!
😅🤙
Very good review! :) Is there something comparable in that price range?
That gives a whole meaning to hit the fence
This convinced me to get my first FPV. So Thanks. Here is my question. Can I bind the FlySky radio to other recievers?
Yes 👍
How bout eachline 4ex?
And there's your answer to why you get all those spare props with their self-destruct design lol although as you said on a 3s they would possibly survive full throttle, still an impressive piece of kit though 🤘
I took old blades and cover the ESC to provent blade strikes on them. great quad heard they have a pro version coming... 😀
Great idea. I'll have to try that :) Yes the S version is coming soon and I"ll be reviewing it.
I’m new what is the 4S battery that you used and link if possible thanks 😊
When I fly mine I don't have that problem at all I suggest buying th bind and fly version and look at the video for beta flight on Banggood and buy better propellers mine worked fine but I can notice a difference better antenna and try to start in horizon mode
What camera did you used to record (and can we record with stock camera?)
Can it handle gopro hero 3?
What's the range of this drone (drone to transmiter and googles to fpv camera)?
What's the speed?
Dam Dustin you get better and better and not afraid to push it to the limits. Did you happen to check the esc to see if they got hot with the 4S?
Glad that wasn't the F215.
Thanks. I did not feel them with the 4s. Should be easy to repair though and maybe put some better esc's in.
This is the 2bd time i watched the video and im going to buy it now because ive been saving up
Hey man I’m thinking of buying one did they fix the antenna problem ?
Does this drone have a low voltage alarm ? Also do you think the esc will burn on the stock 3s battery?
Nice video
Also carbon fiber blocks radio waves unlike fiberglass. I would have liked to see how short the range would be with the antenna stuffed into the isolation box. In racing we use a lot of CF and if it’s bear it conducts electricity. It’s a special material for sure. Strong and light. Can’t believe they put them there. Definitely didn’t put any thought into those. Other wise it looks like a great starter for fpv. I have been fpv my Tello with a controller and vr goggles for my phone, lol. Sure is fun but I want that speed and acceleration. Keep it up 👍.
All Things M3 it’s a good way to transport them from China. That way they won’t brake but ofc you should change the position
that dog sees a flying bone :P im buying one right now at the moment cant wait to fly this carbon bone for the first time
Hey, do you like it? You still using the drone?
say Dustin what would you recommend other propellers for my 90 GT King Kong everybody tells me that the propellers that come with it or not good what propellers would you recommend
Cool review man. Do you think the prop sliced the esc as it bent maybe ?.
+1975supermike Thanks. That is most likely what happened.
Thank you so much for this video tutorial!!!!
So did you go In beta flight or did you just plug in the battery
Hi dustin, I have had my x22o for like a month now and I feel like I am ready for some acro. When I tried to plug my drone into betaflight, it would not connect with the drone. Is there any tricks that you have for getting it connected to the computer.
-Luke Froeb
Thank you for the review !
Hello Dustin: Have a question for you that you may help me with???? I'm new to fpv and my wife surprised me with a Eachine Wizard X220 FPV Racer Blheli_S F3 6DOF 5.8G 48CH 200MW 700TVL Camera w/ FlySky I6 RTF and of course there are no instructions that came with it and I have no idea how all this is supposed to work. Now I got to the point where I got the fpv and my googles to work and I was able to pair the receiver with the drone but I can't get the motors to start. So I did some more research on you tube and down loaded Beta Flight and connected the drone with my computer to check out the operation. Well when I tabbed down to the receiver tab and it opened there is no info. According to other posts there are different color horozonal bars that show up to correspond with the different radio controls and would move when you would move each control. Well on my system there are no color bar and no movement when moving the controls. I can't find any instruction on how to go about checking what would cause this problem? So is there any instruction you could give me on how to go about and what to check so I can make the controls work, I think if I can figure this problem out this will fix the problem of the motors not wanting to ture on?. I hope I explained and made sense on my problem. Thanks for your help I watch your channel all the time and have learned a lot so thanks again.
John
Looks like you got a lemon, I got mine From Grayson Hobby and they tune it and test it before sending it out......love my Wizard, 24 flights and zero problems and crashes
I wouldn't say I got a lemon. I'm sure you paid a higher price for the shop tuning it prior to sale. They have probably done everything and more I mentioned in this video before handing it over to you. My crazy flying is mostly to blame for the big crash at the end but it held up well. It's just the nature of the hobby to crash and fix. The ESC burning seemed reasonable since I hit the fence so hard but the stock purple props disintegrating on 4S is a known issue.
Dustin Dunnill Ah got ya Dustin! No crazy flying LOL
:)
Amazing review! Im am not sure, but i think it is called a dipole, not a monopole
What kind of vr glasses do you have an where do you buy them. or are the glasses delivered with the drone too
Separate. Links in description
What power do you run the 5.8 at? 25mhw is the legal maximum for the UK, is this enough?
i completely tought that the battery was going to explode, be careful with those crashes
+Bruce Laporte Hey Bruce. Me too. I was expecting a total bonfire while walking to retrieve it. By the way.. your Aosenma C0G35 prize you won from my recent giveaway is on it's way to you. Let me know when you get it 😁
alright! i guess it will arrive within 1-2 weeks?
?
Do you think the quad crashed because of the part failing in mid air it seemed to tumble with a motor out??
Did you lose video feed when it dropped from the air? If so I would put money on the battery came off and then hit the props. I've had a gopro fall off with a lose strap and hit the props did the same thing.
I think it was all fine until the run in with the fence but not entirely sure. Video was still good and batt was plugged in when I picked it up as seen.
+16by80 It just registered to me that you probably meant in the first FPV test. I had FPV until it hit the ground. You can see the RunCam 2 feed seemed angled correctly until the pop of the props so I don't think it was the cam coming off in air. I think we would have seen the RunCam video move abruptly if it came loose and hit the props.
hahahaha amazing review... looks hard and im noob. wich its the best beginner racing drone??
Great video, which would you say is better.. this x220 or the walkera f210?
I liked the way the f210 flies out of the box. It also has a much better transmitter. More expensive though.
Works all goggles? And how much range do you have?
What's the stuff you put on the antennas called? I'm a noob. I have this coming in the mail. It'll get here in 2077, but it's coming
I'll be in Hawaii Tuesday you do drone repairs lol
Hey Dustin I love your reviews you always tell/show us everything we want or need to know and nothing we don't! I just picked up the Crusader GT2 and I was wondering if you were planning on reviewing it in the near future or not. Thanks for reading!
Thanks Ashton. I'll look into giving the Crusader a go for review :)
Dustin Dunnill alright cool I'm glad to see you read comments and interact with your subscribers 😁 but yeah I love the reviews and keep up the good work
Between the wizard x 200 and 200s which one is better choice?
I bought this unit...
It rocks and moves all over the place when I'm just trying to hover... Granted.. this is my first time at a drone, but is this thing stable when hovering?
It either wants to shoot up or crash into the ground...
I haven't made any adjustments to this RTR version.. I gently try to bump the throttle up to hover...
Dustin, ive had my x220 for about 2 months now. it was interesting to see that the props basically disintegrating at WOT. Ive had that happen to me multiple times with the stock props.
+Mike Quercia Seems to be happening with many users. Maybe that's why they give e so many..lol. Is it happening with yours on 3s or only 4s?
Dustin Dunnill I haven't strapped on a 4S yet.
+Mike Quercia Ok wow so it's desintegrating props on 3s at full throttle also.
It's possible that the 4s did bust your props.. But I think it was the runcam falling off from the lack of velcro
