  • This short film gives a brief insight into the unique Ferrari Dino 3.6 litre V8 upgrade package by Moto Technique. This car is the result of collaboration with David Lee of the Hing Wa Lee Group, California and Andy Cohen of Beverly Hills Motoring. The unique upgrade is "Bolt-on, Bolt-off" using original and genuine Ferrari parts and gives this amazing car the potential it always had, along with modern day performance, handling and reliability, whilst respecting and keeping the cars original charm and characteristics. As Kevin O'Rouke says himself: "The Dino's Ferrari DNA is ingrained and permanent" Jay Leno describes this car as "As nice a restored as I've ever seen...a Brilliant car"

    If this is regarded as a gauntlet thrown down in terms of making a work of art better
    the bar has been set ridiculously high. This is outstanding.

    Back in early 1980 I have a choice to buy Dino for about the same price Lotus but I always a have a deep love for Lotus Esprit so went for it no regret super handling car much fun. Dino would have been a great investment when you get old and look back. But in life you live once follow your passion if Ferrari calling than you must go.

      Thank you. What we have done is evolve the original Dino's handling and performance to more modern standards whilst always respecting the original car and the people that built them. Yes, sticking a big American V8 in there would have been sacrilege.

    Classic cars reflect the spirit and technology of its time, they must be as original as possible. That is not a Dino, is something else. The most valuable cars for a true collector are the original ones

    • @mototechnique1282
      @mototechnique1282  Před 4 lety

      Thank you for your comment. If you collect cars just because you are interested in their value only, then yes have a totally original unrestored Dino, but remember that these cars are now approaching 50 years of age and there are not many unrestored original examples left. If on the other hand you would like to imagine the ultimate evolution and potential of what this wonderful design of probably one of the most beautiful sports cars of all time could be and what can be achieved in terms of speed, handling, safety, braking, feel and reliability with modern technology, whilst retaining all the characteristics of the original, then we would suggest that this could be the answer. It's not for everyone and we understand that, but we truly believe that we have created the ultimate evolution of the Dino and that it's now the car that it always had the potential to be, whilst totally respecting the original car and its philosophy.

      Thank you for your question. These figures are made available to the owners. Yes, it will be quicker and faster than any standard Dino, but no where near modern supercar standards. But, this car is not about numbers such as 0-100kph or top speed. Its about feel and feedback between the driver and the car, its about emotion and satisfaction of a drive that will put a smile on your face every time you get into the drivers seat and experience an analogue drive with no driver aides and its all about your personal engagement with a car tailored to your bespoke specification. This is something that is just not an optional extra on modern supercars which although have crazy engine outputs and performance figures, they are in the "real world" sterilised by all the drive aides which are needed to make them drivable and safe.
      Do you really need 700-800bhp on a road car? and how many people can truly drive such a car? If you have a car that weights about 1000kgs and it has 350bhp that's about all you need to have fun. but, 0-100kph and top speed and BHP sell cars.

    The most beautiful and elegant of all the Ferraris. The only detraction on this machine are the ugly hoops sticking out from the wheel wells. For those who don't know, Alfredo (Dino) Ferrari died at age 24 of Muscular Dystrophy. And the Dino was the first production mid-engine Ferrari.

      Thank you for your comment. The fender flares have been made to the exact period correct Ferrari specification that they produced on the Dino 246 "Flairs and Chair" model. Not to everyones taste, but historically correct.

      @@mototechnique1282 Thanks for the update. I had never seen them before, only the graceful tapered flairs.
