1974 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS: Viola - Petrolicious

- Cici Muldoon has led an interesting life already. Growing up in Mexico, she was on track to become a dancer before she moved to the United States to study physics at Princeton. A phD then brought her to Oxford, and after a bout in Switzerland following grad school, she has settled (for the moment) in the English countryside. The Cotswolds offer quintessential British B-road driving, and Cici’s Triumph TR3 fits into the area almost too perfectly. Her Ferrari Dino and its unique color scheme stand out a little more.
She’s named the 246 GTS “Viola,” but affectionately refers to her as a bit of a pimpmobile too. After all, it is a mid-engine Italian sports car with purple paintwork and a removable roof. It seems like a perfect weekender, but in the two years that she’s owned this Dino, Cici has come around to the idea that it doesn’t need utter pampering, and she doesn’t mind clipping the occasional puddle if the driving mood happens to strike on a rainy Tuesday.

Incredibly pleasing to see a Dino driven through a muddy puddle. This does not often happen.
Because they rust badly, not a smart move.
The owner is as classy as the car!
..and got a PhD in Physics at Princeton... wow!
Absolutly, that's the first thing that came to my mind.
@@rolandalfonso6954 not at Princeton... Didn't listen.
Thank you for the kind comments! 🙂 I have a PhD in Atomic and Laser Physics from the University of Oxford, and an undergraduate degree in physics from Princeton University. I still do physics, but I’ve moved from quantum computing to wine: www.verivin.com. 😉
Cici Muldoon marry me
"they're meant to be driven- cars are meant to be driven". no matter what you own, you never truly appreciate it till you are comfortable using it for its purpose. to drive
"wall hangers" are for collectors, not people who truly love the thing. Nothing will last forever. Better to wear in the purpose it was meant for. Say what you will about Leno, but he drives almost all his cars and isn't afraid to commit to serious restoration.
Amen
That’s not always true. Some car are too valuable to drive occasionally on the street.
@@dantew2942 That's bullshit. The Mona Lisa is not too valuable for people to look at. It the intended purpose. The intended purpose of a car is to be driven. And if it is just locked away it loses it's purpose. Btw. a car that is not driven deteriorates, hence loses value too. Anyone who locks away a 250 GTO or an original GT40 should be punched in the face by the creators of the car.
@@Perry_dAccard That's why I love this video: czcams.com/video/KHgD0wJGcR0/video.html& You have probably seen it already but this is how classic sportscars should be driven.
She is a true car person. You can hear it in the way she talks about it & in that smile when she talks about it. Not many people out there can understand the feeling of driving a nice car or just driving a car in general, unless you are a petrol head. I wish I came from a family that appreciates cars as she does. Great story.
I had a red one with cream seats - not the chairs and flares - I drove it every day. It did break down nearly every day but I drove it. I once took it to a back street garage to have the carbs adjusted. A little Italian bloke came out (cant remember his name) walked around it about ten times just saying 'beautiful'. When I came to pick it up he advised me to "drive with the handbrake on for a few miles....It's a very fast now". And he was right. It was. Super video thanks.
Haha that's awesome
Lethal combination of Brains , Beauty and great taste in cars
That and inherited wealth . ;)
@@horsterer77 The thing that probably shaped her most is, as she told, that her dad was always very careful with his cars and that she saw them as untouchable. She was raised well, learning that she can't use expensive stuff that isn't her's. This video is very inspirational imo.
@@horsterer77 "our Ferrari's" plural
Well, @horsterer77 @Karl K, at least I put my inheritance to good use. I used it to get a PhD level education (which incidentally, money alone cannot buy) and with that started a high-tech company that employs people, improves an industry and helps further science and technology in the UK. You can’t help where you are born, but you can definitely do something with what you are given. 😉
As a package....drop dead gorgeous !!!
Princeton, Oxford, Ferrari. LOL! what a life. congratulations!!
congratulations my ass. without daddy's money you can never do that. it wasn't her skills that took her there. Save congratulations to self made women and men.
@@spiritualcramp8000 Doesnt matter if her dad helped her or not, she studied, she worked, she did stuff to get her where she is.. Sure, she got help on the way, probably a lot of it, but nevertheless, she made it to the point where she is the one that owns Ferrari's. You can give a dumb lazy ass dude a million bucks, and guess what? after a few years he'll return to the state he started in... Without brains and hard work all the money in the world won't make you successful, it'll just give you some numbers in your bank account. So she definitely deserves some congratulations.
@@spiritualcramp8000 money not gonna get u a degree from Princeton and Oxford. Guess u just too dumb to realize it 😂
@@spiritualcramp8000 bitter...passive/aggressive , narcissist , repeat..... She is a celebration of Judeo-Christian capitalism, individual liberty, the Nuclear Family & Patriarchy. The finest civilization in human history used to produce the quality of this individual regularly...now socialism, globalism, political correctness mucks up several generations so far.
@@MechanicalTrader Seriously. These self-made women and men will eventually also have kids, some of whom will end up like this women here. Some people just can't stand to see others have a good life.
Great to see a woman with a car like that. Goosebumps feeling her love for Viola and knowing she’ll be driving it the rest of her life. Enzo would be proud
Loved this story...beautiful car driven by a stylish lady.
Petrolicious has hit another home run in production and story telling. The story, location, driver and cars are captivating.
There aren’t many people that can out shine a Ferrari, this woman is one of them.
That look at 0:51seconds with her hair flowing out the window and the exhaust note trumpeting away .... YES!!!! 🤩😜
Anything.......literally ANYTHING......can outshine every turd Enzo and his joke company have shat out from their anuses for the last seven decades.
@@michaelmeliambro5117 wow, okay then. lol
@@michaelmeliambro5117 do...do you need to talk?
@@onemoreroll Do YOU?????
This is proof that the perfect woman does exist 🙌.
Lock it up simp
Who needs a proof?
This is a woman my daughter can look up to. Her knowledge and passion shine through immensely. Beautiful film, story, and vehicle. Thank you Petrolicious!
And she's Mexican descent viva Mexico 🇲🇽 even tho she may be 100 % European descent ,still considered Mexicana !!
If anyone was deserving to be the owner of this car it’s this lady. Lovely video
What a lovely story from Cici and Petrolicious !
The Dino is amongst the greatest classic Ferraris out there and this perticular example is an absolute gem 👌🏽
Great to see it's even being driven in wet weather - Brillant !
The physicist is just incredible from her thinking to her appreciation of such a beautiful automobile, the fact that she is unafraid to go straight through a mud puddle is a testament to the proper collector’ s mindset “you drive it, it gets dirty you wash it, it’s metal you ding it you repair it” outstanding mantra ! She is my hero (heroine?)....whatever the description she is a gear head first and foremost!
Extremely Stylish ! Well Schooled ! Great Taste ! Beautiful Collection ! Super Smart ! Her love for Dino is amazing..... That moment when a beautiful heart meets a great engine. Lots of ❤ for Cici and Dino till infinity and beyond.
Just when I thought I've seen it all.. Fantastic.
I love the passion and emotion she has for her car. This is how cars should be seen and enjoyed. Drive them and take care of them. Don't just put them in a garage or living room for years on end.
Beautiful all around. Car, owner, videography all of it. Love that she drives the car the way it’s meant to!
This is it boys. Pack it in. You've reached the final video on CZcams. It will never be better than this.
What a beautiful and touching video, thank God for these people...
Never get enough of this video even after a while, especially the part where she drove thru a muddy puddle. I love this video with all my heart!
I love the fact that she is not afraid to get it out and drive it! Amazing cars are so often owned by the wrong people...not the case here.
Being an American, and British and European vintage car restorer for over 20 yrs.
It's great to see this women come to the true realization of her father's passion, of automobiles.
To say her Dino is a step above her TR3.....well I smiled.
I drive Datsun Z S30's for that same reason. I've owned bug-eye sprites, classic mini's, lotus europa's, Big Healeys " 100-4 , and 3000 roadster's
My Datsun Z's are, a step above the old British Iron..
Great car, great words. Thanks, Cici! Cheers from Germany.
This is what you get from being born in the right family. Good for her.
Georgeous car, but this woman is something else....wow. She's a star, love her style, and grace.
"Cars r meant to be driven"... such a simple line yet few car collectors understand them... Kudos to this lady... Brings a joy to the face ....
I like how this lady addresses her car as "she", not "it".
Beautiful smart and successful and I also like the Dino!
So glad it gets driven even in our lovely British weather, props to you.
This beautiful car couldn't be in better hands.
Beautiful Dino and pretty statement of love of his driver 👍🏻
The most interesting woman in the world. She should be the new face of Dos Equis
You mean she and the bearded dude making commercials together ...on the boat in one shot..into the car in another...
Hahahahahahah
Current ads are not very interesting. Cici would be interesting. (Is she Mexican or from Mexico?)
She’s Mexican too
That's funny, but also a great idea.
It's always nice to see and hear real passion about cars. Especially a car as wonderful as that. Viola is very lucky.
At 8:55 she got emotional speaking about the car,so sincere that when I heard it I felt it.WOW thx for sharing and enjoy your gorgeous Dino 🙏🙏
What an AMAZING Woman, She truly loves cars and how they function. The compassion flows from her voice as she talks.
Ferrari’s first mid-engined production car. She’s beautiful.
Both the car and the driver !❤️
So is the car
Well not exactly "Ferrari's" first mid engined car....seeing as how they didn't build it. Still I get your point, the Dino and the owner are still fantastic!
@@erichakanson7010 they didn't? I thought enzo ferrari made this in honour of his son.
I LOVE this woman. Beautiful and a gear head. Perfect combination.
The Dino engine was also used in angrier form for the Lancia Stratos
Fiat Dino made production possible.
You can see her passion. Intelligent and beautiful. who could ask for more? :)
Beauty, Brains, and Balance; owner, auto, and video. Kudos to all.
Absolutely gorgeous car. In 1974 I was driving a Lotus Elan Sprint, and aspired to owning a Dino, however marriage and houses intervened. In my view the prettiest Ferrari ever made.
There is no reason to mention the car or driver as anyone can see how perfect they are, but I would once again like to compliment the Petrolicious team for another perfect video.
The most beautiful Ferrari in my opinion, and this one is truly stunning. I absolutely love the colour, this is a first and the removable top seals the deal. Nothing like driving in two open air
Beautiful classy Lady and a beautiful classy car !!
I just love the side profile/outline of this car. It's really something 😌 Greetings from the US!
Exciting to be alive at a time when content consistently this good can be free to watch. I’ll have to check out the online store as a thank you.
I remember this car from my childhood. Cant be many that colour. Lived in the street down from mine in Surrey. Thats going back to the 80/90s
One of my fav cars, beautiful color, charming owner, autumnal scenery..what else ? A kind of daydream...
One of your best videos. More ladies wanted.
I think I'm love and despite being a huge Dino fan it's not about the car. What a fine classy lady!
Coupled with the amazing storytelling, backstory of the people and the history behind these beautiful cars - Petrolicious always finds a way to damn near bring me to tears watching these.
Drive on my friends.
Beautiful story and car👍👍👌👌
Incredible story!
Beautiful ladies in a wonderful autumn landscape! Very classy video ❤️🇺🇸🇮🇹❤️🇺🇸🇮🇹❤️
the relationship between a person and their car no matter the car is always greater than the car it self. its so beautiful to see a person truly appreciate a car like this as it should be be. if i ever bump into her all i'll say is thanks for truly enjoying a great car the way it should be enjoyed.
Stunning... and the car looks great too!
She's the right sort of car enthusiast. Bravo!
Petrolicious at its best. Car, driver, story, filming, sound. Hats off!
That'll be me driving around the Cotswolds until I meet Cici. My soul mate!
Amazing! Wonderful to see someone speak so passionately about a beautiful car.
My favourite baby model of a legendary marque, nothing like the 'Ferrari' Dino! Everything about it, the looks, the handling, the sound and that perfect little V6 is just perfect!
If not for the rarity; it would have been the perfect aspirational Ferrari.
OMG her cars are great but Cici Muldoon is a GODDESS.
Classy lady with a classy car! It makes me wonder where does Petrolicious find so many great owners
6:04 best frame in the whole vídeo.
Ledio Pellumbi when I saw that shot, I thought the same thing. So good.
More than a few glamour shots in this video.
No I love the view at 0:51 with the hair out the window and that exhaust !!!
Sooo true, what a moment captured, almost like a painting.
Ive loved this car for as long as i can remember this lady has great taste and that colour is beautiful.
Beautiful ride!
Oh yes, another wonderful, all-too-brief immersion into a wonderful car story. Cici is quite the lady and we are grateful that she has been so generous with her story here. Thank you so much. We love your work all the way in Sydney, David
I love the fact she truly drive the car like Ferrari meant it to be. They are not meant to be put on a shelf the rest of their life
Always one of my favorite cars. Good luck!
It's great to see a women be so passionate about her cars! You don't really see that too much anymore 👍👍👍👍
Your enthusiasm is infectious. great to see.
Nice to see classy beautiful women still exists... what a stunning car and video!
You guys, she's not classy. She's not interesting. She went to college and was introduced to cars by heritage, not her own self interest. And she's wearing a nasty black leather jacket. I bet her family already had the cars and finances for her to access these kind of rare cars.
@@JamesBond-ex2te The hate strong with this one, is.
@@alistairwillock7266 , no, I'm stating facts. And if you consider that classy, interesting, and appealing. That's your own bad taste.
El Guapo Grande- Burrito she drives a classic Ferrari.... how many women do you know are even into classic Ferrari’s? Is educated at Princeton & Oxford and has her own money. That’s damn interesting to me. I bet your the type who likes those Instagram airhead princesses
Great story. Genuine passion for a truly great car. Driven and thoroughly enjoyed. 😀
Both the car and the owner are so pretty. It's mesmerising
In 1974 at 24 i was living in Naples, Italy. I owned a '67 Dino. It had the sound of a turbo Jet!
Very nice video. She talks about her cars with passion and emotion.
Thank you for DRIVING it. Fantastic color combination as well.
The Dino is sublime, one of the most beautiful cars of all times. Daytona, E Type, Dino, yeah I’m happy with that.
Gorgeous shade of color on this Ferrari, a very wonderful owner, and quite a lovely collection there!
Quite a treat of a video today!
I'm in love with the fact that she's driving without gloves. Please learn from Cici. Great class
Just wow. This was amazing.
What a beatiful car, what a gorgeous Lady who has a fabulous lifestyle! Thanks for sharing her story.
I love the Dino. Please do a video about the Aston in her garage as well.
Please !!!
What a Beauty it shows when a car is as Gorgeous as the Dino they look great in every colour like this FANTASTIC purple !!!.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and when I'm the beholder, there's no car so beautiful as the Dino
We all have our favourites for whatever reasons, but for me this is one of the most desirable Ferrari's ever built. Thank you lady for sharing something so special. You complement each other beautifully ❤
this is a magical video.
Lovely documentary. She clearly loves this car but doesn't put it on a pedestal.
It's amazing to see because it's also my favorite Ferrari for pretty much all the reasons she laid out. It's one of the most gorgeous shapes I've ever seen and its history is hard to forget.
Stylish. Thanks for the great video. Life is for living in the moment.
Jesus what an incredible woman. Beautiful, smart AND a gear-head.
And, she names here cars! Love it!
Truly fantastic video, bravo 👏🏻
Outstanding documentary! This young lady is truly enjoying her Ferrari. I love that she’s educated with the the history of the Dino. Thank you for sharing such a well put video! I’m glad you are enjoying such a beautiful piece of Ferrari history!
What a great car. What a wonderful woman. Thanks for sharing this beautiful video with us.
