Quite simply, the most beautiful sports car I have ever seen. Ever. Congratulations on a superb job!
Absolutely incredible- ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE, what a masterpiece this is. Congratulations to all involved.
The black dino is something else. Wow, just wow.
My first dream car period! The mechanical modernization just made me dreaming about owning one! Wish me luck in winning the Power Ball!
Absolutely stunning piece of “re-engineering”. Bravo 👏🏻
Took me back to the early 1970’s, I worked on & drove Sir George Dowty’s personal pilots Dino. I was heavily into Minis back then and that car blew my mind. This one would probably cause it to implode !! Absolute joy to watch and listen to & a comment section devoid of stupid, ignorant remarks.
Thanks for sharing 👌
Brilliant , Beautiful and practical, I love it, all power to you Mototechnique !
I feel the same way about the wheels on his car that I feel about Marmite, as if that meant anything. This guy does everything I would do if I could. Excellent video. Thank you very much for sharing this.
Now this is very special... A beautiful car, and not just a pretty showpiece. Geniune driving ability too.. Fantastic!
Brilliant stuff Ken and love the marmite reference! Lovely video too Tony 😉👍
Have always loved a Dino and this one is just incredible and the ultimate machine in my eyes, congratulation to the creators and the owner...
The Brits are simply the finest classic car techs in the World, bar none! Simply incredible engineers!
If I ever win the Lottery this is going to be my first purchase! No budget constraints!
Simply the sexiest Ferrari ever built. No 458 or 488 for me!
Thanks guys for this exquisite piece of engineering magic! 👍🏻
thanks for watching James!!
Ummm, not trying to provoke a fight, but I'm sure the Italian and German automotive engineers would argue that point with you.....
In my opinion this car is beautiful at the level of a Lamborghini Miura
James Ritchie we are....💪🏼
The 246 Dino
Same car as on Jay Lenos garage and I utterly love it. Dream car.....wow.
That exhaust note gave me an eargasm!
The sound is amazing i've never heard an engine sound like that before
loved the 246 on first sight in 1970's thanks for sharing
This is so wonderful. What a car. Thanks for making the video
Thank you for watching and for your kind comments!!
Fantastic job front to back. I don't love the little extensions on the arches but I guess they are needed. But otherwise it's utterly brilliant.
Wow this guy is amazing!! and the shop i can only dream about having !!
The early C3s Corvette and the Dino have the best curves in automobile history.. hands down.
AC COBRA for me.
@@stevefowler3398 Those too.
That engine screams with joy and power. This is a beautiful car.
Wow, now that is a stunning car.......what a noise 😎 Love it!
Absolutely incredible. Ferrari should hire this guy as a consultant!
Oh my goodness, that’s stunning
Love love love the Campag wheels but colour of the red car is absolutely lush.
Beautiful workmanship the car is brilliant.
sure is, thanks for watching!
how bizarre that since seeing a Dino back in the early 70's I always thought enclosed headlights - like Series 1 E-Types - would look superb. Glad I wasn't wrong.
This is the ultimate in style, quality and performance.
Did you know that the original Series 1 E-type lights weren't very good, which is why the Series 2 went to unenclosed headlights? Seeing this amazing Ferrari, I was wondering if the same problem will have occurred.
@@russellparratt9859 headlights were pretty poor in any configuration back then.
@@1968spikey Well, that would have made the Series 1 lights particularly bad.
But, it's what you get used to. We had a Mark 2 Jaguar in the family for many years.
I never heard criticism of the headlights.
The problem with the Series 1 was the aerodynamic covering for the lights,
but not the lights themselves.
@@russellparratt9859 agreed. It certainly wouldn't have helped matters, but aesthetically they were far superior.
@@1968spikey Yeah, but just don't drive at night.
Personally, I would prefer a Series 2, because the seats and dashboard are more developed, as well as the headlight issue. I think the brakes were improved as well.
As for the most beautiful sports car ever, I'm going to give it a draw between the E-type and the Ferrari Dino 246.
But THIS car, the subject of the youtube...... words fail me.
good god, the sound is amazing !!!!
Thanks buddy and happy holidays 🎄
This particular car is my grail car. Ever since I first saw it, outstanding 🤗
Amazing car!
What a machine, all that heritage combined with the reliability only modernity could provide, no wonder he wouldn't sell, if your lucky enough to find perfection then don't look to improve on it, huge thumbs up from me
GLad you liked this awesome machine David!!
Achingly beautiful car. There are several cars out there that I would give my right arm for. Aston Martin db5, Ferrari 250gto, audi r8 etc etc. But this just does it for me.
Stunning!
I've never really wanted a Ferrari (other than an F40) but that Dino is utterly beautiful.
What a beauty 🙌🏻
David Lee's car. Amazing.
Kevin is a star - I had a 308GTB (first owner Peter Frampton) that Kevin had done bodywork on - quality.
Yes top lad!!! Lovely man
I'd be interested to know if there was any ever consideration to putting in the 360 V8 in there, given this engine is the last iteration of the original Dino engine?
I want to know where I can buy paint the color of the car behind Mr. O'Rourke. That is a stunning red.
What is the classical song played at the beginning?
Lots of commenters are in love with how this engine sounds, and rightly so. Here's the deal:
Ferrari V8s use 'flat-plane' crankshafts (FPC), which have a totally different cylinder 'firing order' than the usual 'cross-plane' V8, so they produce a distinctly different sound. Ferrari's V8s are, of course, sophisticated and high-revving engines. This combination makes that glorious noise.
Historically, FPCs were reserved for racing engines, as they produce uncomfortable vibrations that are difficult to tame. But modern noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) mitigation techniques, like active engine mounts and so forth, can refine the feel of a FPC V8, so they are becoming more common in regular production engines. The Ford Mustang GT350, for one example, has a FPC. It's reported that the upcoming super-duper C8 Corvette will also have a FPC.
Jay Leno had David Lee on his CZcams channel with this very car, I left a comment on jays channel asking people to check out number 27 review hopefully you gained some subs Jack 😉
Thanks my friend!
Love this car, imagine if it was in the pretenders when they have the drag race at the beginning with the Aston,it would leave it in the dust, great British engineering, amazing stuff👍
How no one has corrected your mistake after a year surprises me. It's the "persuaders"🤗
I love this car, and i was saying i would of put a more powerful engine in it, i saw that Ferrari was building a new Dino 5-6 yrs ago! Do you know anything about it. I love what you doing to the Dino.
Loving it :)
Italian flair, American dollars....only British engineering could do it though! Britain should be proud and shout about this sort of thing more! Ace job!
Agreed, also singer and out law porsches are designed by an english men.
As a triumph, TR 250 owner, I’ve been in love with the Dino since I was in junior high in the mid70s. I love analog cars but what they’re doing with this Dino is in a whole Nother world the absolute best of the early offerings with modern upgrades, Just makes it the best of both worlds I would rather have that Dino than any of Ferraris modern offerings hands-down… Class dismissed
Have never seen a more gorgeous Dino. Well done what a wonderful business to go to each day. Living the dream eh.
Can you do the same with an XJS - lovely car hateful electrics - average performance and interior. But a beautiful shape especially in Convertible mode roof down. Am going to say this but for me even more beautiful than an E Type ....or it could be if you got hold of it.
Such an awesome car! The only thing I don't like are the wheel arch flares. I think it would look better if they where curved and blended in.
I’d hardly noticed them.. I think it was an option at the time to have the cars with or without..
Incredible!
It is. Thanks for watching Tim
Black on red Interior looks real sleek
Dino. Endless legend
From what I've read elsewhere, apparently the Dino is a few hundred pounds lighter than a US spec F40. That's somewhat of a surprise and rather commendable indeed. Because I, like many others, have never been a fan of the oddly-badged runt, Dino. I didn't realize that much of the reason why is because of its gutless 6-cylinder motor. This upgraded motor definitely establishes a significant, monster-level amount of respect in comparison. Fantastic handmade work. Just beautiful, unobtrusive, functional engineering. Mobile, very loud art. That Motec ECU could manage the turbos if he wanted to install those as well. hehehe Maybe 550hp pushing behind a 2400lb car. That would be interesting... or exciting... or both
Thanks for watching!! Interesting on the F40 weights!!
Were not these built by Fiat?
What a clean car black on red Interior
... And it sounds great!
Sure does!!! thanks for watching!
I love the red one more ❤️
Awesome
Not for me however appreciate the level of engineering and passion
OMG! What a car!!
Indeed!!!
i don't remember if i had already seen all this on your channel or on petrolicious.... awesome car. Have you heard about that green dino found burried in a backyard in california in 1978? very interesting story that got got resolved... the car was fully restored. look for the story on jalopnik if you're into dinos
Hey, yes I re-released this video as it needed editing for copyright reasons. But it’s also been on Jay Leno and Petrolicious..
Yes familiar with the buried Dino.. among story that one!!
It's amazing how few details can improve Dino's aesthetics so much, this car wouldn't look out of place next to a Miura.
However I think it would need Ferrari wheels. F40 wheels or 288 GTO wheels would fit better.
Those wheels are of the original design but enlarged to accomodate the brakes and modern tyres.
I thought the f40 was a 2.8 turbocharged engine?
Wonderful. I want one. A lot.
Get in line Richard!! Thanks for watching
I wanna get in line. Don't leave me out.
reeks of quality (the whole video)
Provide more engine sound! ;-)
WOW...
Definitely a Ferrari I would consider having.. even as a Porsche man!
When I first saw these I thought they were the most beautiful car ever made and they still are. Not crazy about the exhaust note though, but I guess that could be re-tuned.
Thanks for watching Thomas!!
@@Number27 I do however have one small reservation. These are so perfect that it is a shame to see the lines compromised by those plates over the wheel arches.
Absolutist!
Have to say it. V8 soundtrack not a patch on V6 in a Dino. Be like putting that V8 in a Stratos. Other than that brilliant..
The Singer of Ferrari restomods! If I had the money, just like with the Singer I’d definitely get one of these, if he’s still making them?
Mototeqnique in the UK made it.. I believe they are looking at making a few more..
So David Lee called it Monza Dino Evo 3.6, with the 3.6 badge on the engine and in the back. David Lee never disclosed the factory that helped made this happened, but wanted to sell the same car 25 times (probably for a higher price than his own 3.6 Evo was made). Now the factory came out to claim that they made the Evo 3.6, the car looked 99% the same but without Dino gt badge in the back and no "3.6 Evo" on the engine. Same gear and engine and everything. Hmmm... Great car, but I keep my opinion about the people involved.
No link 😢 But I found the first film anyway. I just had to. 😬
Sorry and thanks!!
Man I wish I had unlimited money to play around like that
some people are just born with a father that trades in diamonds. lottery.
Anybody see the word or badge saying "Ferrari" on it anywhere? BECAUSE IT IS NOT A FERRARI, IT IS A DINO 246GTS.
Really cool but seems more like a 360 cs engine than f40
Wow
IM CRYING
I want one.
Matt Farah just called out your car and said there's no way that's an F-40 engine. He said it's from a 360.
Haha! Classic Joe Rogan move!
He said it used an F40 engine block.....not a complete F40 engine. Big difference....
Fun car, but could he possibly be any more pleased with his work.
Ferrari Dino 246GTS Jan Leno v12 is best one
this is months old
Yes, I released this ages ago but had to withdraw it as the original video was edited for legal reasons, so now re-released
holy shit
Don't cry for me i'm already dead lol
The wheels on the red one were just a terrible idea.
Agreed!!! Thanks for watching!
Oh fuck me that is sick
Mixed feelings , either it is priceless or worthless ?
Priceless!!! For sure. Original Dinos really don't drive well
The other side of the pillow isn’t anywhere as cool as it once was this is the absolute mutts nuts 🥜
jewellery
Small Island off Mainland Europe still producing SH#TE Hot motors
Absolutely!! Thanks for watching Kim!
I'd much rather have this than a Singer.
I would agree!!!
you could probably have two singers for the cost of this though…….
Vincent T. Both
I'd rather have an original classic Porsche than a Singer....
Singer could probably make these from the ground up at less cost. But what a car! This one is fantastic!
Dont you love unlimited budget.
I love it but sometimes also fun to work out what you can do with what you can afford!!
@@Number27 I'm always budget first..
mancaveproductions00 key "word" unlimited budget. And worth every penny!
I do not like the 360 wheels on his own Dino
Dear Santa....
308 or 328 engine is enough
or 348....is about 320 hp
@@gdp1121 although the 355 had 375hp
@@gdp1121 or about 385hp
Some cars are better than women because they don't change. The 92 Crawford doesn't look the same today.I d rather take this for a ride
It should move out with 400hp .....
Sounds great...looks slow as fuck
Every line from evert angle is pure automotive art and grace.
So, why, with an unlimited budget, would you slap on sheet metal from a petrol drum and call them fender flares, anyways?
They look like an afterthought. She deserves better. That's my two cents worth. Now I can go jump off a bridge, thank you ;)
Ummm.. I personally don't get all the animosity for the flares.. they were an option from the factory so some standard cars have them too! all the same thanks for watching!!
@@Number27 My mistake, Sir. Makes sense that a factory option would look like an add-on. Understandably, it would take a lot of modification to fair in wider fenders. All the same, she's beautiful- great job. Happy Holidays!
Awwww! I thought this was going to be David Lee ROTH's Ferrari, not some boring, old guy's! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Why cant people just leave things as they are...so boring and tedious the best Dino is as it was...
Standard Dinos are any very good to drive though.. surely that matters?
