Pedro Sanchez wants to keep power at all costs. He became president without a democratic vote by finding a "loophole" and ousting previous president. He already has sold his own country, and he will continue to do it in the future. The people of Spain should be ashamed of themselves for allowing people like Sanchez (which there are many like him in gov't) to thoroughly embarass the entire country, but i guess the Spanish are happy enough only with boasting about their so called Gastronomy.

You never been pissed on a scooter Stu?! Spain is big enough to go rural or semi rural if you don't like noise. Come on Spain you can do well with business other than tourism. Just get the bureaucracy out the way. Pump the water south if you have to, for agricultural or cities. Build it and they will come. Sun is power. Water is life. Spanish food is life. Get a grip.

Absolutely right to be sceptical about the AVE Murcia-Almería date. We were waiting for years and years and years for the AVE Murcia-Madrid and when we finally did get it it makes a dogleg detour via Orihuela & Elche, or, worse, via Alicante. D'oh!

It actually happened the same long ago on the affair "Banca Catalana". The only President of the Generalitat of Catalunya who came back from exile was Jordi Tarradellas, after Franco's death. He warned against the forcoming independentist Catalan politics consisting on hidding up corruption with the flag in exchange of votes with the Government at charge of Spain whenever it be. It has little to do with independentism

Reminds me very much of the minority Conservative administration in the UK doing a deal with the DUP - a fundamentalist evangelical Christian party who implacably opposed the peace process in Northern Ireland and in the past supported armed terror gangs to achieve their political objectives - for their majority in parliament.

Those geniuses should also think how to make the offices more efficient, they may save some trees. But again, efficiency does not go together with this country.

Hi I really enjoy your News Updates. I watch a lot of Spain videos and I am considering relocating. I am Muslim and want to know the feel of environment. Meaning is there a lot of visible Muslim women with the head scarf that live there, not just tourist. Also if there are local Masjids and Islamic schools. These factors are important to me. Thank you if anyone else can comment. 😊

There are Muslim women with the scarf everywhere. In the years of my granma there were Catholic women wit the scarf on everywhere too. There are one or two big mosques in big cities and humble small ones in small cities. I have no idea about madrasahs or any kind of Islamic school. If there is any, it has to be private, as the Catholic schools. There are Muslims in Spain by their millions and perhaps half of them are Spanish. 90% are "moros", which mean arab from the West, as Morocco, Maghreb.
