    I have a 2018 Toyota Camry SE and I love it so much. I didn't know it had the breaking feature until a vehicle suddenly stopped ahead of me and when my breaking wasn't enough, it stopped for me. This is a feature that will save your vehicle and insurance premiums. Thank you Toyota. I will forever be a fan. Thank You! ( I am also a fan of the 2019 Nissan Altima, they have great features as well that I have first hand experienced, but I love my Toyota.)

    We have a 2018 Highlander with collision avoidance and it saved out butts this year while on vacation.
    My niece, in the back seat, asked me to adjust the air vent. Two cars in front of us stopped suddenly because a state road vehicle made a sudden turn through the median. In the split second it took me to look for the air vent, the collision avoidance system kicked in and stopped the vehicle.

    Well done Toyota! These features are simply outstanding! I have been driving for decades and I can drive just about anything including delivery trucks with manual transmissions. My wife and my daughter, who will be driving soon, are not so confident behind the wheel, so these safety features are why I forked over my heard earned cash for a 2019 C-HR, plus the car looks STUNNING! @@malcolmar I was at an intersection when the light turned green. The cars were moving and the driver infront of me suddenly hit the brakes, causing me to hit them. I was going maybe 10-15 mph yet my car still didn’t stop. I was perplexed because I brought a top of the line Corolla XSE with all safety features Toyota has to offer. I go to check if all the features are turned on, and they were. However, when I turn my car off, it says all the systems are turned off. I’m trying to see if I can receive some kinda compensation for this system malfunction considering that I’m a college freshman and can’t afford the insurance spike nor can I afford to repair the car on my own. My cruise control also has caused me to nearly hit someone when the whole point of cruise control is for that not to happen.

      @@ranazarour5241 Man, I am so sorry. That sucks. Again, at the very least glad you are OK and your car did its job and protected you. Sadly, I think I know what happened. Below a certain speed, the collision detection does not work. I believe it is either below 25 MPH or 35 MPH. Sometimes when I am driving I get a warning message on my dash reminding me the collision detection does not work under one of those speeds. I hope everything works out. I know you will get through this. Again I know it does not seem like a big deal but you are OK and no one else was harmed. You will get through the rest.

    • @JTCLT
      @JTCLT Před 6 lety +2

      You clearly didn’t watch the video carefully. If the driver does not immediately take action by braking, THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY BRAKES to avoid a collision!

    • @JTCLT
      @JTCLT Před 6 lety +4

      That is incorrect! The car will actually BRAKE, FULLY STOPPING before a collision occurs. My daughter avoided an accident at night, when another motorist ran a stop sign. Her 2016 RAV4, detected the other car before she even saw it, and her car stopped, dead stopped!
      Watch the video! It clearly shows the car stopping, completely before hitting the cardboard card.

    • @JTCLT
      @JTCLT Před 6 lety +3

      She was going less than 20MPH, but it doesn't matter. I've had my 2018 RAV4 begin braking -- not engine braking, but brakes -- at full highway speed when a car in front of me stopped abruptly. The video does say that the car "may" provide additional brake force due to legal liability. If they say it "will" brake, and it fails, they have a liability. If they say it "may" brake, they're not legally liable for a failure of the system. Obviously, they don't want you to ignore traffic in front of you, but the system is designed to full stop the vehicle in the event of a panic situation.
