- Booster Course Wave 4 for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is here, and we’re checking out All Changes and differences made for the returning courses. The first race of the Fruit Cup is Tour Amsterdam Drift. Situated in North Holland along the IJ waterfront, the capital city of The Netherlands is known for its windmills and canals, the historic main street of Damrak, and the Rijksmuseum-home of the works of famous Dutch artists and beyond. So how does the most recent update differ from its mobile appearance? Let’s find out!

Nice, they added bikes! That is an essential part of dutch culture that was missing in Tour.
3:00 Next time you showcase a city track, you should indicate on the map with an arrow where the lap changes because I had no clue where the track changes over to the other track.
I was considering doing that, so hopefully time will allow exactly that for the next city track for better clarity. Thanks!
Schattig hoe er geprobeerd wordt Nederlands te praten, dus dat zal ik ook maar even doen. Ik vind Amsterdam Drift een hele leuke track, vooral de stereotypes waarin we altijd het landje blijven van molens, tulpen, fietsen en grachten.
Cute when one tries to speak Dutch, so I will too. I find Amsterdam Drift to be a very enjoyable track, especially the stereotypes in which we always will be that small country with windmills, tulips, bicycles and canals.
Imitatie is de hoogste vorm van vleierij, dus het is alleen maar leuk wanneer anderen de Nederlandse taal spreken!

My Oma and Opa were actually from Holland/ the Netherlands, but I never actually visited there (I may one day for research). So it's nice to have a taste of where my ancestors were from for now.

In Amsterdam Drift 1RT in Mario kart tour, the train was in the track.
Don’t know if it’s just me but the items feel off for instance when the item warning happens it for some reason stops and the item either hits something or goes off target and I don’t get hit when I definitely should have

Thanks! I'm from the United States, and this is the first time I've tried to learn and speak Dutch, all to be more authentic for this project. Daan from the Netherlands who helps us with our video content gave some pointers. I'm glad at least some of the words worked out!
I kinda wish shyguys biking on the track as an obstacle on the course was in, to give a good impression about the dangerous traffic situations here haha.
Fun fact, they changed De Gooyer's (the first windmill you see at the start in Amsterdam itself) sails to brown, as it doesn't have white sails in real life, only brown ones! ^^
@GameXplain Hey, whenever you do a video on comparisons on Bangkok Rush, I've got some details that might be of interest to you.
You wanna know something I find strange yet curious about Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's version of Bangkok Rush? If you take the upper path during Laps 1 and 3 of Bangkok Rush where the Sky Train Station is, if you look to your right (left in Mirror Mode), you can see cameos of 2 karts that either have yet to be in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, or may not be added into MK8DX at all.
I'm talking about the Flame Flyer from Mario Kart Wii, and the Royale from Mario Kart DS.
These 2 karts, along with the P-Wing, cameo'd in Bangkok Rush as part of advertistments for the "Mario Kart Motor Show"; and they are seen in huge posters located on the right side of the upper track where the Sky Train Station is (left side in mirror mode).
With Flame Flyer and Royale having their cameos retained in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's version of Bangkok Rush, it makes me wish that additional vehicles could also get implemented in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
I would love to see Wild Wing, from Mario Kart Wii & my Favorite Mario Kart vehicle overall (tied with P-Wing), useable in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Maybe you & others can touch upon such a topic in videos one day.

And about your quote about Pauline in your New York Minute comparison video, I agree 100%.
In fact, whever anyone would do a Character Predictions video for what could be the 5 Mystery Characters being implemented into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, or at least plan on doing one, I have a piece of advice for everyone, especially video creators & character predictors, to keep in mind.
Keep in mind that with Mario Kart Tour tracks being added over to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe...
Mario Kart Tour technically does count as a "Past Mario Game".
So Tour characters, such as Pauline, would also technically do count as "Characters from Past Mario Kart games" and "Returning Characters from the Mario Kart series".
So in my opinion, Tour characters have just as much of a chance to be added into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as characters from other Mario Kart games.
And as you said it best during their New York Minute comparison video, "We really wish Pauline were here..."
And so do I.

In fact, there's some details that may end up being the case for Pauline to be in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but as noted above, I want to give you headsup with a DATAMINE CAUTION. Whether you want to read the details or not is up to you.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was not the only game to have experienced datamines. Mario Kart Tour has had many datamines of its own. In fact, the Yoshi's Island track was actually based from those datamines, due to the assets "MobYI".
There are other Datamines with similarly named assets, with some saying that "MobOR" may have technically been used for Pirahna Plant Cove, as "OR" would stand for "Ocean Ruins", the setting for Pirahna Plant Cove; whereas some initially thought that might have been for a city track in Orlando, Florida.
But one of those datamines that seems to be more of a puzzler than anything else showcases assets with the texts... "MobDK".
Many have speculated this to be a track inspired by Donkey Kong.
However, it may not be the Donkey Kong many may think.
It's possible that instead of being based on the Donkey Kong franchise, it could be one of 2 things.
The least likely of the 2 would be that it'd be based on New Donk City, but I don't find that likely because it'd be too similar to New York Minute.
The most likely of the 2, on the other hand, would be that it'd be based on the 1981 Donkey Kong, taking place in the construction sites / urban areas that Mario clashed with the original Donkey Kong (now known as / nka: Cranky Kong) at to save Pauline.
If either, especially the latter, turns out to be the case, then that more than increases the likelihood that Pauline will end up being a playable character in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Of course, as with any guess, theory, and/or assumption, I could be wrong. Ultimately, we'll just have to wait and see.
@@TheOmniverse1 It definitely seems like something is going on to bring a lot of the content to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, as if Nintendo had plans to shut down Tour in the near future. We don't know this for sure, but eventually, Tour will have to shut down like other Nintendo mobile games. And I remember the Pauline quote! Yeah, I'm a big fan of Pauline and it looks very likely that we'll see her.
@@TheOmniverse1 A lot is possible at this point, and I did see some alleged datamine information from last week. Here's hoping to a lot of the most popular characters not yet in the game making it in.

sadly the central station shouldn't have two clocks, one of them is a wind direction indicator, and the tunnel as well as the bike parking space are on the wrong side

Like the Berlin-Track, the music of the Tour-Version of Amsterdam is much better than the MK8DXBC-Version... the catchy elements are missing :(
Tour has the extended version; true. However, the presentation of the used portion seems better to me in the arrangement. I would love to hear a full rendition of the arrangement that includes the bridge before the loop featuring guitar fifths.
The only thing I saw myself was the omssion of the ramp in the fields. After seeing how much else they've altered for the worst, I shall change my opinion of this remake from "just about what I expected" to "below average".
Pretty much! It's one of the city ports with less effort put in, I think. Nintendo likely wanted to focus more on Singapore Speedway, which has been a very popular track.
