    Good build and useful storage space. One suggestion, that rear bench storage with the fake wall, maybe put a small strap handle on the it to be able to remove it and store extra tackle or safety items in a plastic tub or waterproof bag that you could just slide over when the false wall is removed.(also a good hiding spot if needed) I know in my boat, every inch counts. I have stuff in every corner. Also the rear hatch on the rear bench seat is facing forward, you may have to build a tie down to hold the door closed when trailering at highway speeds.

      Great suggestions! My current plan for that space was to fill it with foam to replace some of the foam that was removed in creating the storage but I love the idea of having the wall easily removed for hidden items. Definitely something to think about.
      You're 100% right about the hatch facing that direction opening up on the highway, it's already happened! At first I was going to flip the side the hinges were on but I decided to add latches to the lids, they should be here in a few days.
      Thanks for the feedback!

      @@mvboutdoors I was wondering about foam flotation under the seats or floors if you had any just in case. I think it is rare for a boat to sink, but the foam to keep it up seems like the life jacket for a boat. Thanks for making the video, great when we can all share ideas.

    Wow love what you did I do have a question where did you get the two gas tanks that fit in the bench seat? I would like to do the same thing that you did I would like to find the thin gas tanks that fit inside the bench seat. Thanks for your time

      You will need to measure your available area to be certain it will fit but I used something like this amzn.to/4alWDM5

    Hi, Outstanding and informative video. So, if I do this setup, with two trolling motor batteries inside the bench, how to run battery wires, etc. out of it to, for example, a bow mounted trolling motor ?

    • @mvboutdoors
      @mvboutdoors  Před rokem +1

      Most of the time there is a gap between the bench and the wall you can sneak the wires out. Worse case you can always drill a hole and put a grommet so it looks clean.

    Would a rustoleum oil base paint work for the wood as good as an epoxy?

    • @mvboutdoors
      @mvboutdoors  Před 11 dny

      @@kurtdraeger352 No, it wouldn't work as well. It will work but it will fail much much sooner than epoxy.

    So just curious, what was the reason for choosing to move the gas and battery to the front bench vs the rear where most put theirs?

    • @mvboutdoors
      @mvboutdoors  Před 2 lety +3

      Weight balance -- on smaller boats weight can affect how it sits in the water and rides. I'm a big dude and the motor is pretty heavy so to offset the rear weight I moved the fuel tank and battery up front. I also placed the battery opposite the side I will be sitting.

    Curious as to why you moved the gas tank to the front. Is that for weight distribution?

      Yes that's correct, I wanted to balance the weight in the boat. It worked out 👍
