After Logan says, "I speak for the dead," he should have said, "Game over."

Tyrell Rivera you are right.
Aiden Burnett That make a good point since this movie took place before the others
Callmehmai _ No, The beginning where the people died took place before the other movies, At the end, The twist is he took 3 different people to make it just like the original game, and the other two were the guys in this scene, which is 10 years later, after all of the other saws.
Tyrell Rivera Yea I know right... that would’ve made it so much better
Original Jigsaw: “Live or die. Make your choice.”
This Jigsaw: “Make your choice. Scream, or don’t.”
TR0N MO i prefer the original
Oscar Estrada but he had no possibility of surviving to that
It makes me wonder if the detective hadn’t pushed Logan’s button first, would Logan have let him live. It makes me think no because Logan wanted justice by getting vengeance. But if he had kept him alive, the detective has too much against him so either way he ends up in prison or dead while Logan walks free just as the detective let his wife’s murderer walk free. How the tables turned.
@@valenfiorini5676 We don't know if he gave everyone else a fair chance (though he seems to imply he did with recreating the first game) but yeah the detective is one who wasn't walking away alive or dead.
Well he ended with that because he gave the director a chance to make the right choice, but he didn't. He chose to throw him under to keep himself alive. He gave him the Choice. He failed and had to suffer his own fate.
"We can never come from anger or vengeance.... you taught me that"

Oh the irony... And then the scene cuts to Logan coming from anger and vengeance hahaha framing and killing Halloran...

This twist really got me. I didn’t know that the main Saw Trap took place 10 years ago. It started to make sense on how Jigsaw was still alive.
I'm confused out of my mind
@Kevin the main trap already happened 10 years ago. This fella recreated some of it to make it look like it was happening right now.
yeah it caught me off guard too. didn't expect that the Saw franchise still had the ability to surprise its audience. The fact that it did it with a few homages to the first Saw made it even more impressive. Maybe because the similarities are from the first movie that was released years ago that made it unexpected. The revelation was well executed. From Logan's look to his voice to the flashbacks. It all culminated amazingly.
John Kramer is dead everything is a flashback the original game and now 10 years later Logan the original apprentice seeks to recreate the game and continue the legacy he and jigsaw built a decade ago
So I take it maybe Logan has met Dr. Lawrence Gordon and the others Brad and Ryan at some point?
Then again, I have a tiny feeling that this remake retconned everything in the past seven movies despite being considered a sequel...
Logan is a pretty interesting character added to the franchise for me. He made an honest mistake and Jigsaw realized he didn't deserve to die for it. And he helped Logan put himself back together again. I like that he is doing this for all the victims of the people that got away with what they did. I hope he doesn't turn out like Hoffman who just went straight up murdering people instead of sticking to Jigsaw's rules.
@@Jake-nl3er Hoffman was the one who made unescapable traps. Logan recreated the game John did a Decade ago. As Logan says, he gave them the same choice John did but they all failed, and the reason he killed Halloran was because he cheated. Nobody gets away with that. Hoffman cheated by making impossible traps and yet was punished by Dr. Gordon. Logan's first real murder was Edgar.
@@Jake-nl3er Oh really? Then tell me how the Ice Box trap was escapable, or why he shot down an officer.
@@Jake-nl3er The reason John told Jill to get Hoffman in the trap was because he murdered like Amanda. John mentions it as well. Logan and Dr. Gordon are the best students of Jigsaw.
wasn't it Amanda too, whose traps were incapable to survive?
Jake the "honest mistake" part was not shown in this video. It was where he switched the 2 x-rays and labeled them with the wrong name. You were right about him murdering Edgar
Yeah Logan, but out of all of Jigsaw's apprentices Dr. Gordon was the only one that followed John's instructions exactly and didn't let his personal feelings get in the way,
i wish he was the atagonist for the film
@@beastongaming1866 No, he would have killed him anyway, Halloran released a murderer and that murderer, Edgar murdered Logan's wife. And he has repeatedly mentioned this in the ending scene, personal feelings and other ideas are what inspire Logan, Hoffman and Amanda to make inescapable traps.
@@mingQWERTY Of course, had Halloran chosen to activate HIS trap and confessed, he would have lived. Granted his career would be over and his life a shambles, Vengeance either way.
Jigsaw wish was that dr Gordon look after jill in his event of his death. If hoffman had let jill live gordan would not have had leave him to rot and Gordan gets away free while logan was in on the game from the start.
i think that role is exactly logan's gordon was an assistant and a backup should something happen to jill, logan now is the definitive new jigsaw and i love his motivations

True
I was thinking the exact same thing before I even saw your comment
"10 years ago, I came out of the war a broken man. Jigsaw put the pieces of my life back together again. He gave my life purpose and together we build a legacy"
Truly magnificent and well said
I always point to those words for everyone who thinks Logan was tested before going to war. That line makes it more evident that no, he wasn’t away at war during Saws 1-7. He was tested after being in war, and all we know is he helped build the Reverse Beartrap. If only we had gotten sequels… we’d know the rest. I still to this day believe Logan was one of the two pigheads that helped Dr. Gordon.
@@darthmeticulous6901It's confirmed the pigheads at part 7 ending are the guys from the beggining of the film
@@thekingmmgvadsiteva5639 That is not revealed on screen. The only reason people think it’s those two is because it was said in the commentary. The problem with that is they also said in the commentary for Saw 1 that Dr. Gordon was dead, but six films later and he’s alive. Whatever they say in that commentary regarding story bits should always be taken with a grain of salt, because as with the above example, it can and likely will get retconnned. I never bought that explanation because it makes little sense to be two random victims that were barely given screen time. With all the actual apprentices, they all had much more screen time before the reveal. Plus, considering we’re not told why Dr. Gordon joined John and people struggle coming up with reasons why, I find it even harder to come up with why Brad and Ryan would join. However, Logan (who actually did give reasons why he joined) had way more reason to go after Hoffman, as he’d view killing Jill the same way he viewed Edgar killing his wife. Bottom line is there’s a history of audio commentary stuff being written over, so it should not be treated as fact, whereas Logan being one of them is based off of what actually is on screen.

Very Satisfying, and very explainatory too.

Would have been cool if they showed Dr. Gordon sewing up Logan's wounds. But as they said, this game took place before the Bathroom Trap. Aw well.
Tyrell Rivera It would've been great if Dr. Gordon had more parts in these movies.
@@starrlynn2523 Sorry I am so late! I did not like how they did the Dr.Gordon reveal because he had a very minor roll in Saw 3D before we even see him again. At least we actually see the other apprentices throughout the movie before revealing themselves.
He was supposed to be in saw 3 but unfortunately it didn’t pan out
@@starrlynn2523 Seeing Dr. Gordon again is a bit unlikely given that Cary Elwes filled a lawsuit against Lionsgate following the first Saw. Even though the lawsuit was settled, Elwes didn’t accept to return despite Lionsgate’s offers until Saw 3D. He said that he would only return for the final film, so unless Lionsgate can somehow convince him, Dr. Gordon is unlikely to reappear.
However, it’s possible that maybe Logan and Gordon knew each other if they worked at the same hospital.

That’s would have been an awesome quote omg 😍😍😍 I love the speak for the dead quote but to add the original that’s awesome
So Jigsaw actually spared Logan because he accidentally mixed up his X-rays. Because it was an honest mistake Jigsaw decided that Logan didn’t deserve to die.
Nice to know that Jigsaw has limits.
And Logan didn’t deserve to be in his games
He’s a sweet psychopath
Still a sense of honor
Not a straight up serial killer
No it's because he was unconscious in his trap.. He had no chance to fight for his life in the 1st game.. So he gave him a another chance..
I respected Logan for keeping Ryan’s body covered up as a sign of respect because he knew Anna screwed him over, and Ryan did everything he was told.
Wow! I didn't even notice that!
And what Anna did was a lot worse than Ryan’s car crash
It would be awesome to see Logan work together with Gordon in SAW 9, they would make the best traps ever.
I agree. They both can do great together.
Would be even better, when there would be several Jigsaw cults, that follow different ideologies or even none, battling it out. Dr. Gordon who follows John's ideology and doesn't kill, Logan who kills for justice and freed Hoffman who just wants to burn the whole thing to the ground.
@James Brothers he wants no part in creating games yet he kept helping John in the shadows and was called his "greatest asset"... I hope you realize that's a contradiction, and in no parts of any of the movies did they say that Gordon did not personally wish to partake in the creation of the games.
Oh yeah, I definitely agree 👌
They could come back in Spiral.
2:14
I love how you can see the sorrow in his eyes
Yeah, *and Logan’s narrative dialogue there pretty much shows it.*
5:43 Is it weird that I find this scene really wholesome and emotional? I loved their scenes together.
i think its mostly how he too lost a loved one
Kudos to this guy. Anna was far from innocent. John Kramer was their neighbour. He heard her screaming at her newborn baby. She placed the dead baby in bed with her husband Matthew, to frame him. He hung himself in his cell. The first crime was post-partum psychosis, framing her husband was premeditated and calculated. She deserves no mercy. John Kramer was not a villain. He speaks for the dead, the innocent, voiceless. He's not vengeful, he just wants justice.
He only resorted to these methods because the justice system wasn’t doing its job. He had to make justice himself.
yea but I really don't think Kramer would kill the detective. Logan is just making it personal.
Ok amanda calm down
Horrible mother/wife of the entire universe. She had it coming. 😠
I like how concerned John looks when he undoes the trap, goes with the whole thing about how he doesn’t think of himself as a killer, but for that guy, he realizes he truly didn’t have anything in common with the other players and like he said, it was an “honest mistake”
"You have a choice: Scream or don't" COLD BLOODED😂
Here's why I love this ending so much: 1) not only was the twist/final trap clever (modern technology with real and fake lasers) but 2) it added more depth to John Kramer's character (he forgave and learned not to do things out of anger and vengeance). It was a fantastic way to end the film series (especially with the reboot coming up)! I always thought Saw 7's story and its ending was just bland even though it tied up most of its loose ends. I can also see why Tobin Bell decided to reprise his role as Jigsaw for this film because he said the script has to be really good in order for him to come back.
squishysam waiting for Spiral:The book of Saw to come out
They're both real lasers (the room must be fairly smoky or very humid for the lasers to be that constantly visible). It's just one collar is mounted with lasers of enough power to slice through human tissue and the other just has laser pointers.
(though in reality, a laser that compact with that much power would be ultraviolet, and thus wouldn't be visible)
After Spiral pissed me off (personally) I felt that this is the true ending to the series.
This shouldnt have been the end of an era for Saw films. Think how many movies were spent with Hoffman trying to stay ahead of everyone else. Sure, Logan got his Strahm in a different order but the IA investigation would only be beginning into Halloran bein looked at as their suspect as the most recent apprentice. Combined with the fact that all Logan has to do is reveal himself to her to get an apprentice of his own out of Bonneville & the story has a multitude of arcs that can be visited in various ways to not make for a 1:1 retread. Thats why even though I have my fingers crossed that without that ill-advised duo of a post getting disenchanted with the entire horror genre Bousmann & Chris Rock; that hopefully we can get a first legit Saw film in half a decade (hard to believe its been that long since Jigsaw released already!); outta Saw "X"(X is in quotes because Spiral didnt earn bein counted as a legit Saw movie but rather a shitty AF movie leeching off of the franchise & so if Saw "X" works out well itd be the one to be worthy of taking the IX place spot of the franchise as Jigsaw was the 8th entry); I still want the Spierigs to return to continue Logan's story.
@@DiscordedHaru I went into my only viewing of Spiral knowing it was shit. Didnt know until I watched it how shitty it was nor how pissed Id be watching it. I think my anger at it peaked when Chris Rock used the bobbypin to desecrate the first movie.... 👺🤬 ; all that said, I dont count it as a legit entry but a shit ass movie trying to have just enough reference to the franchise (without showing much of anything game wise in spite the fact their games are pathetic nuff to be the equivalent of playing on baby difficulty in video games); I digress though still cant digest that shit... what was I sayin? Oh yeah, its not a legit entry but references nuff to make an excuse to leech off the franchise & cant be legitimately counted as part of the franchise. And until another legit entry comes along (& Im hoping that its Saw "X" (X in "" because Spiral doesnt deserve the 9th place spot); but until another legit entry comes round, Jigsaw is the last for now entry of the franchise as far as Im concerned. But Im always down for more legit entries.
My favorite line in this entire movie:
Logan:"You have a Choice. Scream, or don't.
"I speak for the dead" was a really badass line considering the fact that he speaks gor everyone who has died and speaks for John Kramer too as his apprentice.
I know some people think it’s odd that Logan is randomly introduced as another Jigsaw apprentice. But if we consider all the traps that needed to be built from Saw 5 to Saw 7, I’d imagine Hoffman would have needed help to build the traps since Hoffman was now alone and it was unlikely that he could do it all by himself, especially with kidnapping all these people and setting their games up and everything. Saw 5-7 all involved a big group of people for the games. And Hoffman was already quite busy with trying to keep himself from getting caught and killing anyone who got in his way.
It seems logical that someone else had to be helping atleast a little. Ryan and Brad (Saw7 survivors) were only helping Dr Gordon in the end, so it can’t be them. Hoffman might have preferred to work alone, but he still would need someone to help him start the games. It would be close to impossible for Hoffman to kidnap so many people or set up all these elaborate traps in a short span of time.
Logan was probably helping, maybe unaware that John was dead or didn’t know that Hoffman was not fully committed to the Jigsaw Philosophy. It would make sense since it’s heavily implied that Logan was building traps with John/Jigsaw, before Hoffman and Amanda joined. Logan was probably never meant to be a successor, just a silent helper that maybe helped get the necessary parts needed for certain traps without raising suspicions, and then built them, especially after John could no longer do it himself. Logan is clearly a gifted constructor of traps.
So in short, Logan was probably there all along, we just didn’t notice because we weren’t questioning how all these traps and their victims be set up. Like I said, especially between 5-7, it seemed illogical that Hoffman was doing it by himself with everything he had on his plate. We just didn’t question it.
So in conclusion, Logan was always there, just not anyone worth mentioning because he was like Dr Gordon, simply an asset at the time, not a successor in any way. In Jigsaw, triggered by the loss of his wife, Logan begins a new game, as he is the only surviving apprentice who respects Johns Philosophy, and wants to see if he can continue Johns work as well as John did it.
Lol sorry for the essay/nerd talk haha
I mean, Gordon also respected John's philosophy, as you can see in the Saw 7 ending.
You’re speaking about Hoffman, the psycho who managed to kill all the police force in the police station. Him kidnapping many victims doesn’t sound unbelievable taking this into account.
Nice 👍👍👍
I'm pretty sure Logan left to fight in a war for a period of time I'm not sure about. Most of the traps that appear in 5-7 were all already built. They just had to be setup. Logan was definitely in the war during the events of 1-4. 5 doesn't take place very long after and 6,7 follow 5 directly
EXCEPT
Hoffman only had to kidnap the people in Saw 5, 6 & 7. John had already made the traps and recorded the tapes for them.
Probably the quietest SAW trap with no screaming or yelling whatsoever.

DAYUM, WHAT an ending!!!!!!!..and Logan's my FAVOURITE character.. SO cool.. LOVE him!!!!!!!..and this ending just gets better EVERY time I see it..
This year, I watched this movie firstly on the day before its 5th year anniversary. Then I realized afterwards that the next day was its 5th year anniversary so I watched it again. Was just as epic & awesome the 2nd time in 2 days as it was the first!
A lot of saw fan aren't happy with this ending like i get it now no "game over" but it just a movie show this ending some respect
Who with me
Yakelin Basulto no it was probably the weakest one with LOGAN being a apprentice as well, which was the worst reveal. Also some how before every other apprentice. And why would John feel bad that he just made a “mistake” but Ryan also made a mistake
@@pollogaming919 yeah a mistake that he didn’t technically made
Becoz logan is a major part of john's legacy by no one knew and in a way he is a creator so.Dont you think they will need something that differentiate from followers to Creator?
Yeah that's why
As astonishingly gruesome as it looked, it also seemed instant and painless
Does that help you sleep at night?
@@damienlucas5346 I thought it shouldn't have been so instant and painless, you know, for a Saw movie.
6:14 it blow my mind!!
bro took that demogorgon cosplay too seriously
Technically, while the trap was rigged, the game wasn't.
The whole game aspect was how Hollorand reacted to Logan in terms of forcing him to go first. He would probably admit he was Jigsaw or release him if the cop won.
Also I think the whole 'not making it personal' thing was after Kramer realized how he himself made mistakes as he started out. He even almost caused an innocent man to die, possibly out of error due to his connection with Logan. I kinda like this cause it shows that even John Kramer considered himself incompetent when starting out.
i love how he tried to punch logan but doesn't punch logan when he's telling the story
This deserves a sequel
Darren Lynn Bousman has said that there could be a Saw IX which follows Jigsaw.
@@joaquinbarboza3223 I hope so I want SAW 11 to have Logan and the killer from Spiral team up.
@@BloodyHorrorLoverSpiral was trash
@@rayne3132Why?
A sequel would be interesting pitting each of the Jigsaw killers against each other, Dr. Gordon and Logan vs. Mark Hoffman and William (Schenk) Emmerson.
Because 10 years ago in the saw universe widescreen tvs definitely existed alongside flip phones
How did he find people who did the exact same crimes and built the exact same punishments
I just realized Logan is like the Dexter of the Saw franchise 😂
Yeah 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is such a great plot twist, eat your heart out M.Night
Logans plot twist was amazing. His anger at the guys mistake only to realize hes a human. It was a honest mistake
I like how he tried staying calm but he was stress calm talking to him
The correct answer for the beginning of the game was push your button for first and confess, but no you’re was just a greedy coward of a dirty cop
Logan killed the detective because he let his wife's murder live so if jigsaw was still alive jigsaw would put him through another test to show him killing is distasteful like hoffman and like he said he gave people a choice Logan didn't so he in jigsaw eyes is a murder
Yes but technically speaking the detective still deserved to die because he failed. The test was to confess his sins and because he pushed Logan's button first that's technically letting him die, cheating.
@@Prometheus-SuperBat Despite Halloran was the kind of person John would have tested, this was never a real test since Logan already planned to frame Halloran as the Jigsaw copycat. Logan and Hoffman are not very different
@@KobaLenk Didn't John frame Gordon as Jigsaw with Gordon's Pen Light.
@@Prometheus-SuperBat but that was part of the games of Gordon, Adam and Zepp. The penlight made Detective Tapp suspicious of Gordon and hired Adam to spy on the latter. John uses this connection for their game. John already intended to test Gordon for his cold attitude.
John Kramer - Live Or Die, Make Your Choice
Logan Nelson - Make Your Choice, Scream Or Don’t
William Emerson (Schenk) - Make Your Choice, Kill Me Or Save Your Father
Logan only proved that he was not worthy of being Jigsaw's successor, "It can never come from anger or vengeance" but for Logan it was both, he wanted revenge on both Edgar and Halloran because he was angry about what happened to his wife, it's clear at 4:10 when he asks if Halloran can bring his wife back that this is not for John or his legacy it is personal, something John said it could never be.
I figured when he pressed Logan's button he instantly lost, but maybe if he pressed his own button he would have been given a chance at life. But who knows.
@@acewhitlacker2552 yeah i mean in the end the guy would want to live even after all the things he had done to so many people, so if he had pressed his button maybe he would still be alive
I hope we see more of Logan in future Saw movies
logan needs to return!
He got too close... if the dude pulled him into the laser collar, he would've been sliced first. 😅
I like how all of jigsaws apprentices did the exact opposite of what jigsww originaly intended to do by making unbeatable traps
Logan did make beatable traps. Halloran was meant to go first and Logan even nudged him to.
Has it already been 5 years already Geez I feel old but in a good way 💕
The pained look on John's face when Logan fell to the ground, John wasn't really a bad guy....he just wanted to help people reawaken themselves.
I have a lot of issues with this ending. It felt like a confrontation we didn’t ask for or care about. I don’t think the audience really liked or hated the detective, they didn’t do a good job of portraying him as someone you should feel something for, he was just kind of there… and the whole game being a giant revenge, and his traps being unbeatable just goes against everything the games are supposed to be about.
4:11 he could have put his hands on his back and push him towards the laser, killing him , and getting the remote to unlock him self.
Jeez
damn my man went 🌸
john really went like 'oopsie daisy they dont deserve to die'
Thank you for this moment i searching this so long thank you!
Logan's last words to Halloran should have been "I speak for the dead" before he killed him and then he should have said "Game over" to end the movie, that would've been made this scene even better
this Jigsaw is a vigilante/antihero, not a "murderer".
He takes the lives of people…he IS a murderer. Also u can be an antihero and murder to. Gets ur facts straight
