Tobin Bell deserves an Oscar, he plays the character so well, that, this movie you feel sorry for him, very poignant in the movie....
A movie where you can't help but feel sympathy for the devil. We see him as a character in the other films, but not as in-depth and personal in this one.
This movie was emotional for me and the storyline and having my own family members going through cancer so it hit home.
If you can make a character this deranged into someone almost sympathetic and understandable, you’re a damn Oscar deserving actor.
I ageee he deserves and Oscar for his performance as John Kramer making the role legendary
Is he deranged? He has all his faculties, reasoning, and his famous line of "We speak for the dead" speaks pretty true in some countries where an innocent life is worth less than the one who took it. First degree murderers getting out in under as little as 15-20 years. What's more deranged, a court system allowing this or Jigsaw? He isn't even seeking a life for a life - which still wouldn't make it fair since a criminals life who took an innocent is not even equal. He gives them a gruesome (yes) option to still live, unlike all the victims today who are permanently gone, who have no voice and then the person who cause it eventually gets to walk free and live their life and in some cases, reoffend.@@alexman378
Can we just talk about how good both of them look for their ages. Tobin is 80 and still looking healthy and Shawnee is 54 and still beautiful.
Tobin and Shawnee are dedicated to this franchise, and deserve all the respect.
Love to them both for what they do for the fans.

Also big shoutouts to the film director’s choice not to de-age them, great move, no one cares they look older for this ‘pre-sequel’, their acting and devotions to their characters are just on point.
@@troywinters8123Tobin at least has it fairly easy with the make-up in that, at this stage of the character’s life, John only had months to live. They had already made him look really old in the earlier films, enhanced by the wheelchair and hospital bed, so it wasn’t really noticeable at all.

He is correct about the script. This was one of the best Saw films in years. Just so much emotion and character development. I purchased the popcorn tin and cup combo when I seen it at the Regal.

I love Shawnee but it's kinda clear she has had a lot of work done recently. She's looking so different now I barely recognized her as Amanda.
It always amazes me how lovely horror actors are. I've met a fair few (Robert Englund, Tony Todd, Nick Castle, Kane Hodder, Brad Dourif, and so on) and they've all been fabulous people. I'd love to meet Tobin and Shawnee. I think it's because they get their "dark side" out on camera, off screen they're so chill. It's the "glamourous" actors who seem so bitchy, conceited and up themselves. Tobin looks so sinister, but he comes across so nicely. He's a brilliant musician too. I met actors via Comic Cons, signings, etc.

He looks 80, but he does not sound it. His voice sounds much younger and full of a long life. He has such a strong look to him. Perfect casting for this role that has taken on a life of its own really. Iconic role, and not just among horror films. A uniquely educated killer who is trying to make people see what they have because he is about to lose it.

The dynamic between Amanda and John is one of my favorite things about this franchise.

I was so excited for this movie and I absolutely loved it. It's the first Saw film that made me cry. Seeing John's kindness towards Carlos and Gabriella ( the tequila ) was really moving but it was seeing the hope in John that got to me. We've never really seen that from him and seeing him have that hope and belief he was going to survive following his ' operation ' then have it taken away and seeing the pain in his eyes really got to me. That was really sad to watch. Fantastic movie!

Seeing the tear fall from his eye thinking he was gonna survive and have a life ahead of him only to see that same hope crush before his eyes when he realizes they scammed him broke me.

Yeah that part was amazing. You see the jigsaw in him melt away. Then, you see all the pain and rage he felt. Wow. Can't wait to get this on DVD and see it again. I do have to admit the movie got weaker for me the more it went on. Didn't like the ending. But wow, the first 40 minutes were powerful

Bro was damn near ready to retire as jigsaw when he realized that there was still hope in this world. It reminds me a lot of Magneto in the first x men when he sees the statue of liberty he tells Rogue its magnificent & he first saw it post World War 2 (he's a holocaust survivor) & it's supposed to represent liberty & peace she then asks him are you going to kill me he hesitates but tells her yes. Then she asks him why & he coldly/sadly responds because there is no peace, & there is no freedom, not here or anywhere else.

I loved the movie, seeing Amanda and Jigsaw back together was magical. The movie felt nostalgic and new at the same time. I hope they continue the story. Really good movie.. he's 81 yrs old and still going strong.
I was literally 13 back when I've been rooting for Amanda as a character, (and Shawnee being fine as hell) -- she's still so freaking stunning. She aged so well, I can't believe she's already 54. Huge fan of John and Amanda's characters and Saw X was a literal treat for us long time fans. The movie was amazing, as always. 🙏
The fact that the main killer of the franchise is now the main character of this film and it's more focused on the story then the traps while also giving us some great trap action is why I feel this is on par if not better then the first one.

And I love that Tobin doesn’t necessarily agree with John’s actions but he absolutely knows and relates to where he comes from which I think is the most important because well… he is John and to put down a beloved character would just be bitter
John Kramer & Amanda Young killed this movie and Gabriella was a likeable character too. I want saw 11!!
Huge fan of the series. The last few movies haven't been so great, especially Spiral. But, this was a return to form and one of, if not the best of the series. Bell was just awesome and I really enjoyed having Saw X be from Kramer's perspective. Even though these interviews were filmed many months ago pre-strike, I really enjoyed hearing from Bell and Smith. They are the heart and soul of the Saw movies.
Saw it today and loved it. To have Kramer having his game played in real time with him was great. Had the first saw not gave us that crazy ending with him in the room the whole time, I would say this saw is to me of the series. They did right by tobin and us fans in this movie. Saw X had a great storyline to it.

I could listen to Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith talk all day and not get bored once, they embody their characters so well! Smith is still devilishly charming as Amanda and Bell is the undisputed heart and soul of the Saw franchise

Two legends of Horror. Saw X was great and it was awesome seeing them together on screen again.

I am a big fan of Saw series..from the very first part it always made me horrified to watch those brutal scenes but thats the trademark of saw franchise..thriller mystery torture is top notch..but love the idea behind it..i wish Tobin to have a long life and give us such masterpiece in next installments..Thanks franchise!!

I love the saw series. If you love the saw franchise, they did right by this movie. Fans will appreciate this movie. I only say the first saw was the best due to the ending. If you told me that you knew he was in that room the whole time, I would call bs. That ending was something new back then. Saw X isn’t just about blood, guts and gory. This movie had a great storyline to it. Im glad they made this saw. You finally get to see his John putting his traps in real time. I loved it

In essence this is a love story. John and Amanda. But not in a sexual kind of way. More of a father and daughter kind of love I think. I love it. I think its awesome.

I didn't love the "twist" at the end, but the John and Amanda scenes were amazing and everything else was top tier. Cinematography, script, acting. Fantastic movie!

It was that Parker, the guy that came to the warehouse was actually in league with Cicilia, and that John knew the entire time and even planned a trap, knowing her cockiness would result in her forcing John into his own trap, thus letting her guard down and triggering that trap in the top room, and releasing John and Carlos.

I am so excited for when this movie comes out in Germany. The two best characters in the series are finally back and it's so amazing to see the two actors carry on the franchise that THEY made into such a great series! Can't believe Tobin is in his 80s and still rocking it like a young man. And Shawnee as well, she's 50+ but doesn't look a day older than she did back then. They both make an amazing duo!

I’ve never been a major fan of this franchise, but Saw X blew me away by how awesome it was. Planning to see it one last time in theaters.
Ive seen a lot of people argue about Amanda character and that someone younger should play her because she looks different. I dont mind it at all. I think its amazing that both Tobin and Shawnee reunite with the characters after so many years. Saw X is possibly the last Saw movie in the franchise and its so cool to see Shawnee play Amanda.

Excellent movie, second to the original in my opinion but up there! Tobin's acting was unbelievably convincing and I'm so glad he got to shine and this movie was all about his point of view. More of this type of Saw in future please as a few of the preceding ones barely resemble what Saw is all about! Saw X is another level!

That post credit scene is fantastic, and I still hope there's a proper sequel to 7 as I can't believe a certain character would implied die there in the dark. He seems far too resourceful for that to be his end.
@@scottianson5133 i somehow knew hoffman would still be alive because you know what they say: someone isn't dead if you haven't seen their body. the fact that lionsgate greenlit a proper closure for hoffman is amazing and i hope the producer will understand that mark really has the potential to be the "final boy" of the entire franchise, possibly outsmarting lawrence.
@@sempiternels Hoffman isn't alive. This part took place between 1 and 2 and we already knew he was alive at that time.
Regardless of what happens in any future films, It was pretty cool seeing Costas Mandylor reprise his character again.

Tobin Bell was great as he always is. The movie was great and focus set on Tobin was the best idea ever. But it is worth noting that Shawnee Smith's performance was AMAZING as well. She still fits the role perfectly, nailed Amanda's attitude and gave her some depth.
And sure, they look older, but having them in that movie together again was dreams coming true for fans of the franchise.

This movie was FANTASTIC. Honestly the best Saw film in years (maybe even since 2) - I didn't expect it. I mean, it's good to have lighting but it's also insanely emotional. Especially with the dynamic between John, Amanda and Amanda and Gabriela. I might be biased because I'm going through heavy medical treatment and have been for a while but this sticks with me.
X was beautiful and it felt genuine, I'm so happy that it exists.
I love SAW franchise. And Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith will always have a place in the hearts of fans like me. I really enjoy this movie.
