- On BudgetEDH we build fun and optimized commander decks with a pre-set budget in mind. In this week's episode we build a $100 budget Edgar Markov deck from the Magic the Gathering set Commander 2017. Edgar Markov is a legendary vampire that has the powerful Eminence ability to create vampire tokens when we play vampires. We built this deck as a tribal vampire deck that has aggro elements and ways of pumping our vampires up to close out the game quickly. We will pressure our opponent's life total early in the game with our vampire legion.

Edgar is a hundred dollars by itself now
If your deck can handle the inclusion of a phyrexian altar you can also include an oathsworn vampire (one and a black for a 2/2 vampire knight that comes into play tapped, but can be cast from the graveyard if you've gained life this turn) to enable an infinite drain loop to end a game. Do make sure your play group is ok with infinite loops ahead of time though.
Great video. I feel like now that there are more card draw for this deck than before with Castle Locwaith (sic) and Cosmos Elixer. I also don't see a lot of these Eddie Deck Techs talking about Oblivion Idol which let's you tap and draw a card when you create a token. Rally the Ranks and Oblisk of Urd are also good pump spells.

What are your thoughts on some othervampires that didn't make your list? Elenda the Dusk Rose, who makes more 1/1s when she dies equal to her power, which can get up pretty easily. Forerunner of the Legion, who is basically a vampire tutor. Would you think something like Dictate of Erabos would be good in this deck, since you have a lot of disposable tokens. Any planeswalkers? I would think a couple of the Sorin cards would be good here, particularly the recent ones where you can recurr things from the graveyard and cheat vampires out of your hand if you have some higher costed ones. Apart from Edgar himself, and a couple of the upgrade cards, I'm not seeing many bombs, here either. How about the vampire that has the madness cost and flips? I'm blanking on the name but it starts with a V I'm pretty sure. These are just some of my thoughts. Still a great video.

I like this deck tech. I was wondering who you would use for myr tribal deck. I don't want it to be a 5 color deck.
You could use Traxos, Scourge of Kroog and build a decent untap engine

@@adamreed2088 I can definitely see Animar getting a lot of hate at the table. Unfortunately bug doesn't have a large pool of commander options

Amazing way to start playing with Edgar Markov, love this build! However, I wonder why didn't you include Necropotence in your upgrades section? I have this deck myself and this enchant is simply game breaking - 2/3 turns of full hand refillment means I'm way ahead of my opponents and I don't have to worry about boardwipes :)
Also as an idea for next build - maybe you could make Varina? I'm making a zombie combo build for my friend for $200 and would love to see your take on it.
Necroptence is good, but hpw about dictate of erebos? You've got a lot of tokens, so one sac outlet and you basically wipe the boardstate of any opponent you want to swing on. Butcher of Malakir would be good as well. There's a lot more that could go in this deck.
Even though most of the deck is black, having 3 black pips in a 3 color deck means you will very rarely be able to play necropotence on curve. I’m not sure how it works with madness but it can be bad if you are trying to reanimate stuff.
