Fun fact, Barkeeper's friend is NOT an abrasive, but a mild acid cleaner made from RHUBARB and other vegetable waste! It's the natural Oxalic acid from the plants that does most of the cleaning without abrading. Who knew? The acid is what cleans the metal so well as it gets rid of the oxidation.

Yes, it can also be used as a wood bleach on dark water stains or rings. It’s great stuff to have on hand.

What would you do with the piece if it tested positive for lead?
The finish is so soft, you’d just want to brush your hand over this piece of furniture. The finish is night and day. It’s 3.20am in Australia and your restoration makes not sleeping a little easier to bare.

It is a gorgeous piece. I think a whole bedroom suite would be a bit too monochromatic. This one signature piece is lovely as a stand alone. (To each their own though!)

Really like all the details you go through on the videos. They are so informative, but not boring with too much detail. As everyone knows, prep (not the fun part, but necessary) is always the key to a great finished product and you explain the processes very well. I think it's very interesting. I mean that in a good way. It almost looks like bare wood, almost - perhaps because it's so soft and neutral. It feels like the finish is very wood forward. Great catch and fix on the side panel/drawer slides. Yay to Mr. Salvage for the assistance. I'm really glad you did the drawers as well. I find it so nice when the insides are loved up too.

Another AWESOME project and excellent tutorial.🎉 I have a similar dresser with way less work to remove the old finish. Now I just have to repair the slides and apply a coat of tung oil. You inspire me, Katie, to go the extra mile 😊.

As others have commented, the resulting finish appears so fresh, visually soft, as if it would feel like an old chamois. Took true vision, and lots of elbow grease, to achieve that result. You continue to elevate your skills. Always appreciate that your style leans toward clean, simple (but not boring), classic.
So satisfying to see totally done. After that long pause on seeing the piece pulled apart I wasn't sure how it could be "retrained". So good to have that extra help from the muscled one, bless his heart.
Wow! It came out beautifully. My Canadian grandmother from New Brunswick had a dresser just like that one when i was growing up. It brought back fond memories.
