- I made how much $$?! 🤯💰
Last week marked ONE year of flipping furniture which was only supposed to be a temporary side hustle to pay off a $10,000 dentist bill 🤯🤯
I had absolutely no experience, but I was determined to pay it all off as quickly as possible. And I did, the $10,000 was paid off within FIVE months, all from flipping furniture part time. 🙌🏻💸
So I kept going.
Last week also marked one month since I was able to quit my career in public health to pursue this small business I accidentally started. It’s only been 2.5 months into 2023 & I have made over $30,000 as a furniture flipper & content creator 🥳🥳
I’m here to say it’s possible. It’s possible to pay off your debts, to own a small business, to make a career change. So follow along & let me teach you how to turn nothing into something! ✨🥰🥳🤯💰

Just found your channel through shorts and I have some advice that a lot of new restorers don't take into account. Especially with older furniture. Just keep in mind that when a lot of mcm furniture was being made lead was still being used in paint and stain. Congratulations on finding a rewarding career change
Great tip! I need to do more lead testing. Scary to think about!
YES. VERY TRUE. I FORGOT ABOUT THAT. HOW DANGEROUS IS IT TO REMOVE PAINT WITH LEAD IN IT???
@@donnavaldskatingandfriends3908get a testing kit. When it doubt? Don't sand in any enclosed area, and always wear a mask to protect yourself from breathing in harmful chemicals.
During the same time frame that lead was being removed, there was a study showing that saliva alters into THREE different known carcinogens. Moral of the story: SPIT don't swallow.
@@donnavaldskatingandfriends3908 why are you writing in all caps?
Can I encourage you to wear a respirator when sanding the older finishes? I wouldn't want your health to slowly get bad.
I usually do!!
that was such a respectful way to say that. thank you for your example!
She Will do the house flipping for recovery the cost of lung repair 😂
@@MarcusGrey a lame and inefficient way actually
key word: furniture flipping AND CONTENT CREATOR. Shes literally doing two jobs at once it aint that easy. When shes not slaving away sanding down that furniture shes editing videos and managing her socials. On the upside i guess its more fun and creative i guess.
@@thefurnituredoctor I noticed that "and content creator" part too lol, I'd love to know what the ratio is of flipper to creator income ratio
Your restoration of these beautiful pieces is so awesome. I love when someone saves vintage furniture.
Thanks so much!
where do you usually sell the furniture you flip?
This is amazing!!! I am in the process of following the same path! I resigned from my corporate sales career of 18 years less than a month ago. I have been doing furniture on the side for 2 years, and I absolutely love it! Going into business officially as of 3/24. I am trying to figure out the content creation side, and would love any advice you can share!❤️ You are doing incredible work, keep it up!!!
Thank you so. much!!! If I can do it, you can too!! I post a lot more on my instagram about the content creator side. Feel free to shoot me a DM there! My username is @thefurnituredr
Buddy send me a link and I'm subbed
I think you should be more clear that the majority of the money is from making CZcams videos not from sales of your furniture flips.
Thank you!!
You rock. you are an inspiration.
thank you so much :) youre too kind!
Awesome! What percentage of that $30K came from flipping furniture vs content revenue?
That's my question too🎉
this is because you are an amazing wood worker, you know your furniture and man you can narrate a video extremely well
Awwww thank you so so much!
@@thefurnituredoctor you are very welcome. You obviously know what you are doing so I wish you so much amazing success in the future and I hope you rake in the dough from these shorts
I follow you not only for your amazing restorations but also your transparency regarding the finances and profits you make, and how other content creators can shoot for the same. Very inspiring & congrats on your success 🎉
Awwwww thank you so so much!!🥰🥰
Can't believe someone painted that brasilia. Thank you for restoring it to its former glory!!
of course!
I really don't understand why people get upset about painting furniture when it can be easily removed for refinishing. It's not destroying the piece and it's saving something from the landfill. People who toss out old hardware....a completely different story but paint? Come on now. Why not make something beautiful instead of throwing it away? Again, it can easily be removed for those who prefer the original wood finish 🤷♀️
@@staciemarie5859 speaking for myself, I don’t have a problem with people painting furniture, especially if it’s damaged or an undesirable style. But this particular line of furniture is very collectible, wonderful quality, and intended to show the grain of the wood. If you’re just going to paint a piece, this is not it.
I did the same thing... flip furniture for a profit. Except there was no profit. I had to lower the cost of the furniture for people to buy it and unfortunately lost money in the process. People in my area don't buy stuff like this. It's sad as I enjoyed doing it but in the end I had to shut down a business for costing me money.
This is what I’m worried about in my market. Guess I don’t know until I try, but people in my area freak out if something is over $5 at a yard sale. No idea who’s gonna buy furniture for $300+
Your supposed to advertise in the higher end estate areas.
this happens too. do not be afraid of it. you learned and you could also do it again in the future!
That’s bc she’s lying. She’s a content creator. A huge amount of her money comes from sponsorships and ad revenue.
@@ExcaliburTTP I also felt she gets a reasonable amount from social media. Any business you're doing, social media helps. She probably gets clients through it too.
Interesting, I've been seeing quite a few profit breakdowns for flipping furniture and zero have been even close to that kind of money...closer to that per year. Would love to see the breakdown.
I love that you are able to do this. It takes talent and hard work, and not everyone is going to be able to do it -- good for you for finding such a wonderful productive way to pay off your debt and find a new career that you so obviously love.
Thank you soooooo much for your support & comment! I’m so blessed to be able to do this full time!
Love your work and content!! You go girl! Good for you!
It’s great to see you find a niche that fits your skills and talents. You’re clearly naturally gifted plus hard working - it’s a great combo for success.
Thank you so much 😊
I am very happy to know about this
I'm thoroughly interested in doing this. I'm more concerned with the very VERY beginnerness (a new word!) of attempting it. I have ZERO experience. But I have a good sized back yard. And when the semester is over, I'll have an entire summer off to at least attempt a few things. Do you have any advice (or a video) about what tools and items a beginner needs to tackle the very basics of flipping furniture? Even I could make a few hundred bucks to prove to myself I can do this, it would be worth it. Thank yoU!
Hi! That’s amazing! I had zero experience when I started here. I still work out of my garage to this day. Here’s a list of items I recommend - it’s quite elaborate but all you really need is a sander & variety of sandpaper, paint & paint brush (if you want to paint) and a topcoat! www.amazon.com/shop/thefurnituredr/list/37FQP4PZMFRG6?linkCode=spc&tag=anneskjoldahl-20&domainId=influencer&asc_contentid=amzn1.ideas.37FQP4PZMFRG6

Great life! I'm so proud of U living ur dream! Plus bringing back to life discarded items! Beautiful. 😊

Same question: where do you find your gems? Seems harder on prices etc here in Europe
I had to watch several times just to basque in the beauty of those finished pieces

Key words "CONTENT CREATOR", because as a professional "flipper" myself, there is absolutely no way you can make that much bank, in that short of a period of time. You are misleading the public into thinking that it's a quick and easy process, when in fact it's very dangerous, considering the toxins created from wood dust and chemicals used to strip old furniture. Safety is HUGE with this job/hobby, and you look too young to know even half of what's required to be successful.
Can you tell me the safety procedures that are required when flipping furniture?
@aquayoutubeplus if you don't understand the toxins and chemical brews you can create, you shouldn't do this at all. And this story is totally misleading. When I did it back in the 60's I remember working ay midnight in a cold garage and my new husband coming out and asking, are you coming to bed at all tonight?? You're not gonna make any $20,000 or $30,000 anytime soon
And you need ground i , a respirator mask and goggles; sturdy gloves, a closed garbage system for funky finish goo and discarded rags. Along with product fumes and contaminated waste, viruses and bacteria can be released in sanding dust. Also, cover your hair to protect it from dust damage. Keep your pets out ; as they can get gunk on their paws, then lick them. They can get sick and have kidney failure . Get a book at home depot and talk to the guys there. Also you must have a fan for good ventilation 😊😊
@user-yq2rn2hy8p it's still doable as a fun little project with the right procedures involved
I’m gonna turn into a blonde white woman and try this. Wish me luck!
good luck :)
10k dentist bill?
Our girl got herself a platinum grill.
and what they wont tell you is, if your in an area where people are cheap, you wont make money. then you gotta start to offer delivery..more time, more expenses. then when you want to stop that and list on sites like etsy, they will sell but then your paying taxes at the end of the year. so go ahead and try it, but i dont believe everything they say. ive been doing it a year, and I still have a full time job, and also have other priorities, so i do it when i can. but for me, id have to do a piece a week to make any money, and i just don't have the time. best of luck to anyone to try it
I tried so hard to tell my financially struggling friend to try furniture flipping. Cause she loves playing around with that stuff !!! I also told her start a u tube channel !!! She would have no part of either suggestion. Proving once again that u can lead a horse to water , but u cant make it drink !!!! Ur work is absolutely beautiful !!! U go girl !!!! U have the gumption to do it and i applaud u !!!!
Soooooooo true!!!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for this and very happy to see your success! Can you please clarify how much of the 30k was due to the actual Flipping and how much of the 30k was due to content creation?
Most was content creation
@@thefurnituredoctor That's something you have to be transparent about.
Some people will look at how much profit you make in a short timeframe and think that's universal.
People can jump in headlong and find themselves struggling or even end up accruing debts because of costs before profit.
Every market is different as appeal is different.
Plus, I know 'smart' people who have fallen foul of 'get rich quick' scams.
I'm not suggesting you're being intentionally disingenuous, but people are gullible enough to think they can make a decent living out of throwing paint at any old piece of wood.
Congrats! Love watching you. 👏👏
Thank you!!!
Great!
Very impressive. Good luck with your future goals. 👍🏼
This business model only works if you can make it as an influencer. Flipping furniture exclusively will not really pay the bills at least not sufficiently. You would need to scale somehow with other people that are employees.
Just saying: I am proud of you! Keep going you are doing great. I enjoy watching you making them look beautiful 😍.
Thank you so much!!
Fabulous!!!

Hi from a fellow Public Health warrior! 🫶 I just stumbled upon your page today on YT (via the lotus lamp short! 😍) Annnnd 6-7 videos later, not only am I hooked, I am thinking it was complete fate. After almost 17 yrs in PH, I’m considering moving on once I hit 20😔 Breaks my heart to think about it, but I don’t think I can carry the weight/stress any longer. Been looking for a hobby I can turn into fulfilling work in the future. I’ve wanted to rehab furniture for YEARS, just haven’t had the time or guts to start! Thank you for sharing your story!! Heading to your IG next to check out your getting-started tips. And congratulations to you!!🎉
Forgot to tell you, in your other short where you showed your office boxed up, I even thought “crazy, looks just like my office.” 😵💫😂

Very cool. But im guessing when you make a video that gets around 500k views, thats going to add a ton of income on top of the furniture sales. Those are huge view numbers. Great work!

This is really sad that we don't reward our healthcare workers more for their efforts. It's awful when you think of how disgusting the jobs of being a CNA or a nurse can be, but our society often pays them like they're flipping burgers.
She’s in public health, and I can tell you from my 16+ yrs in PH, the way the whole field has been viscously attacked simply for trying to keep our communities healthy/alive has caused many, many big-hearted public servants. 46% of PH employees have left. I’m still here for now, but I’m only trying to hold on the next few years until I hit 20 yrs of service. Then I hope to retire early and do something different. The pandemic really changed everything, sadly. Same for teachers and medical professionals 😢
And thank you for your kind words, even though you didn’t say them to me :)
Being a nurse can involve revolting tasks. I say it's the best and the worst job in the world. To be with sometime on the worst day of their life and to patch them up and get them home is an amazing feeling.
10 grand for the dentist what for? I need an entire mouth fixed and I’m terrified to even start
$8000 for me to do new dentures with only 2 temporary mini implants. Dentures still don't stay in place because of structure of bones. Full implants $25,000.
Root canals and crowns are VERY expensive. $10K doesn't go far, especially if you have kids, possibly no insurance like me. Medicare covers nothing.
Hey from New Orleans looking good
thank you from Texas!
Magnificent job!
Thank you so much!
Is most of your income coming from content creation or the flip itself?
Definitely from content creating. For sure. Ain't no way you can make 30k flipping furniture and reselling just off FB marketplace.
It's the yout ube dollars
@@goodiegoodygumdropsreally? I didn’t think CZcams paid that much unless you have a huge channel
@@LexaJ828it's on views count mostly so 100k views is like $1k give it Tate as premium watchers pay more so it depends on how many premium watchers watch your vids.

This is really inspiring. I’ve always wanted to flip furniture but never taken the leap. Even though this would be totally new for me, 2023 is going to be the year I start. I would love a video explaining how you move and get the larger pieces of furniture. Do you have a large truck or rent a uhaul or get help from wherever you buy the piece? If you don’t have a truck or large car, how would you go about moving the pieces? Thanks!
awwww thank you!! if I can do it, so can you! I don't rent or have a truck. I have a 2013 Honda CRV and its wide enough that I can fit just about anything! I usually unload the drawers of large dressers to make it larger to carry. I also utilize dollies! But 99% of the time I move the furniture myself!
