      To be fair Henry didn't divorce his wives he annulled them. Divorce and Annulment are different. When you divorce someone you're acknowledging that the marriage was lawful and legal. Annulling your marriage means that the marriage was never real and wasn't lawful. I'm not defending Henry Viii because he was a real tyrant or the church of England, but you should atleast have your facts right before you criticize them.

    • @sarahbunker4821
      @sarahbunker4821 Před 3 lety +103

      @SA S Your right. Divorce didn't really exist in medieval and tudor europe since the catholic church considered marriage a sacrament and therefore unable to be broken by men. However divorce and an annulment are still two different things, and it's annoying when people don't realize that and just think an annulment was another word for divorce in Tudor England.

They learnt valuable lessons from Diana and Fergie, I know the Queen went above and beyond to support Sophie's integration into the RF as she wanted to avoid another divorce. It's just that one of her uncle's, who I guess didn't bother to ask around, announced in the press that she was a virgin. I don't think there was any casting around. He dated Diana's older sister first, they broke up, and sometimes later he started up with her, after a chance meeting. Eyeroll. There was no hunt that resulted in finding her.

      She did say in public or to an interviewer that she wanted to "stay clean" or something like that because she felt it was important, I think she felt she had a special destiny. We are speaking from two different sources, but I believe Morton's book to be accurate, because he worked from her recorded answers (she spoke into a tape recorder) in answer to his written list of questions. I do think it's understandable if she bent the truth a bit in public, that's a heck of a spot to be in.
      I think she answered honestly to Morton, and when it was published it was put out he'd spoken to her close friends, in particular Caroline Bartholomew (hope I got that name right). She was Diana's flatmate when she got engaged.

      @@NYB2023 oh really, Meghan's family first turned on her, first of all her siblings treated her very poorly because her mother is black, they always told their friends that her mother was the maid. They only wanted to acknowledge her when she married a prince, I guess they taught they could benefit from it. She asked her father to walk her down the isle, but two days before they weren't able to get in contact with him, prince Charles had to take her down the isle. Later her father said he had a stroke and he was in a hospital, they called the hospital many times to see how he was doing, but the hospital had no knowledge of him being there. The next thing they knew was that he was trashing her to the press for two cents, she called and begged him not to do it again, but he continued, so she stopped speaking to him and I don't blame her. No one has the right to chose a partner for anyone, whoever you meet in life is your destiny, it's away for a reason, either to learn, teach or both, God decides who we connect with, weather a relationship last or not, we always lean something, it's called teaching of the soul and making changes.

    As an American, I would like to say I am embarrassed by one of our own causing such a public spectacle of herself and English's prince. We don't approve of her antics and most see through her and what she has done to Prince Harry. True he is going along with it. But she is very skilled in her narcissism and using her wiles to bewitch him. I am so sorry to see her separate him from his brother and family. I hate to think what will become of him, being that he seems quite fragile at the moment. She will no doubt dump him once she has achieved what she needs from him. Oprah Winfrey is an enabler of this situation and needs some education as to how narcissists work and how they use people. Oprah is being used, but at least making money while it is happening. She and Meghan are both powerful women who know what to do. Prince Harry, who is a wounded bird, is going along with it all. How long that can last is anyone's guess. America doesn't approve. That used to be the case. To be a beautiful princess, have a big wedding, and become a mommy. The new generations have been steered away from this.

    Diana was born into the aristocratic life, she knew exactly what she was getting into. Katherine and Megan were not. However Katherine took to it like a duck to water because she was truly in love, she wasn't looking for a fight to pick, her husband is love with her, you can see it in his face, he doesn't need to run around smacking everyone for not bowing and scraping to her every whim or emotional outburst. They are a very stable couple.

    It baffles me that they accepted MM into the family. There are so many ethnic brides to choose from who were better suited for royal life. Diana was a blue blood and they treated her poorly. MM was given special treatment from the start. A real head scratcher. 🤔

    In the United States reaching across the table for something is never okay. Furthermore, even in the States, at a formal dinner with servers you wait to be offered more wine and perhaps slow down on the wine?

      I agree. Even in the most normal of homes children are taught not to reach across the table but to ask someone close to pass it on
