- A simple local wildcamp on Houndkirk Hill overlooking Sheffield, weather forcast was for dry weather, a nice pitch on Houndkirk was chosen all looking good.
As usually the weather and other events did not go to plan, then a unexplained fire appears only half a mile away on the moors.
Luckly I had a nice sherry bomb whisky to relax with in the tent .

Brilliant as always Pat......i guess knowing what time that car was torched will be crucial information for the police to check where and when it passed any local CCTV cameras although unless there was some serious crime connected to it the Police wont do anything because they are too busy arresting people on behalf of The Easily Offended Brigade :) Hopefully the Council will clear up the mess soon.
Hi Olan, a couple of ladies sort of took over and reported it to police, if no reports of crime with vehicle, I dare say it'll be up to the council to clear up all the mess, probably leave a nasty scar.
A completely stupid act, probably worth thousands, but gave me a bit of drama and something to film, hoping for more relaxed camp next time..... thanks Pat

I have a single malt matured in sherry cask from Raasay, tastes sweet and very smooth. I always add a very small drop of water as it opens the whiskey up.

I would say that considering the remote location and the late hour the sad reality was that the car was stolen and the thieves were disposing of the evidence. It’s heartbreaking to think that car could be someone’s pride and joy. Thanks for sharing another great camp Pat!

Absolute favourite CZcamsr. I started watching you while living in the UK and enjoyed your wildcamp videos and a cheeky pint under lockdown. After several years abroad I am now back in Scandinavia but your videos take me back to a simpler life, pints with friends, good whiskey and the many good things I loved in the UK.

Went for the easy option of a local camp, something always happens, adventure seems to find you if you when you venture out on these camps.
Whisky seems to go well with camping, it's lightweight, just got to watch it, too easy to drink, rationed myself on this one, basically means I have no self control...haha.

Nice video Patrick. You certainly live like a king whilst your out and why not, I’ve made the mistake of skimping on gear before and it makes for an uncomfortable camp. I also got my love of the great outdoors from cubs and scouts. 😊👍
