- Now for something completly different, a look back at my 50 years of driving, lots of different cars, plenty of crashes and a enourmous amount of fun.
Its got me into a lot of trouble and cost me a lot of money, but I have had a fantastic time, so sit back and enjoy
All presented from the pub shed, loads of old photographs, and plenty of beer to drink as well.
I enjoyed this so much thankyou for sharing this Pat, bringing back the memories of your cars , and us remembering the memories of ours, our cars were part of us and what we did at specific times of our lives. Many thanks x
Hi Patricia, yes each car has its own story and was a part of your life, I know exactly what you mean, different phases of your life, and different cars to suit....... thanks Pat 😊
Cars, Pub shed and great scenery all in one video, what more could you ask for 👍
Brilliant video, thank you Pat.
Thanks 👍...appreciate that Hoss.....thanks Pat

Watched this last night Pat then again today with my petrol head hubby. We both enjoyed it so much 😊. Pure joy, loved all the photos and stories. Enjoy many more years of driving and as we say here "keep her between the hedges" 🏁🏎️
Thank you so much, yes so pleased I had some photos of my old cars, spent hours searching old albums and boxes to find them, but each photo has its own story, and brings back so many memories....... thanks Pat
Excellent video Sir! Enjoyed it very much as all the others and waiting for the next one. Cheers!😊

Cracking video Pat - best years of my life tearing up those roads in my old XR3i on a Friday night after work on my way over from Liverpool to see my Sheffield girl (now my wife) in Hillsborough in the mid to late 90s. Keep on pub shedding and camping my friend 🍻
Thanks Jonathan, yes times seemed alot more exciting back then, probably because we were young, and every day was a new adventure.... all the best Pat 😊
Absolutely loved this video. We were so lucky to live through the car era where your car was almost like a tattoo, or wearing a football shirt. It defined you.
Great memories of a great time.
Stay Forever Young 🍻
Phil.
Hi Phil, yes loved making and sharing this video, wanted to make it for years, so many memories from the past, and my younger days, alot more exciting, every day was an adventure....great to share and a few pints as well...... thanks Pat
Love your story telling and this video and all the pictures of your cars ❤ What amazing travels you have had on the road.
Hi and yes it was good to look back to some amazing and exciting times......thanks Pat
A really enjoyable video there Pat, great to look back at your history of cars and as a Sheffield born lad the places you mention make me smile , lovely, thank you
Thanks Andrew, great to share my interest in cars and driving , we have some lovely driving roads in the Peak District..... thanks Pat
Dear Patrick, this was so enjoyable. Your years of driving, your vehicles, etc... so interesting. YOU, have the knack of relating a story, and grabbing and holding our interest. ***I think it's because you're so honest, and really love what you do... from your fan, across the 🌊s 👏🌈👏
Lovely to hear from you Rhonda, and yes I do like telling a story, especially when it brings back so many amazing memories, from when we were young and every day was a new adventure....... thanks Pat 😌
Great stuff Pat, was fab hearing your enthusiasm bout your cars & memories made in them. 2 ltr Capri S in silver very nice, eventually bought a 2.6 SD1 in red, a lovely car but then was superceded by a Honda VF 750sc & had some fab trips away on it with my brother on his Kawasaki 600.. Cars & bikes can make for some brilliant memories as have yours Pat 🤛
Awesome video and stories. I'm sitting here in New Zealand watching at 1.20am. Can't get enough
Glad you enjoy it!....so good to look back at those exciting times......thanks Pat
Hi Pat What an absolutely brilliant insight to your 50 years of driving as soon as you said you ventured into getting a caravan I thought to my self write off coming up lol. My first car was a black 1600 capri k reg which I got it 1981 before I past my year absolutely loved it. Great video great stories and great entertainment makes me put a smile on my face when I see you’ve put a video out. Cheers Pat can’t wait to see the next one your an absolute #sheffieldlegend 🍺🍺🍺

Pat you never fail to inspire. Awesome mate! Honestley love all you do, and you background ie on the grid! I work at Drax on the unit switch gear. love all you do and produce. What a guy.
Hi Scott, yes similar work, spent many happy years with my fitters on maintenance ....loved making this one, so many memories..... thanks Pat
I love a good yarn in the pub shed. Nobody could ever say you have a boring life, Pat. That kit car was a beauty! Stay safe out there , see you next time. 🍺👍
Yeah great to sit back in the pub shed, share a few stories and sink a few pints...... thanks Pat

Thanks Stephen, loved making this one as each photograph had a story behind it, and a load of memories from those exciting times when we were young, and probably a little wilder..... all the best Pat
Evening Patrick……best video you have done, love cars, I work on them every day……fantastic stories, just one anomaly, you called you’re Vectra estate a Montego estate…..amazing it took the weight of those telegraph poles…..this video took me back to my early days of driving, and rallying……Thankyou for sharing , 👍🇮🇲❤️
Hi Andy, must admit I loved making this video, all the photographs brought back so many memories of those exciting times, realised my mistake with the Vectra when I had edited the video and saw it on the tailgate.... thanks Pat
Loved it Patrick so enjoyable keep them coming
Loved making the video Danny...... all the best Pat 😊
Just awesome. You Rock Pat !
Cheers and thank you, some great times back then....all the best Pat
Really good seeing you and the cars, and your Mrs, but the highlight was those wonderfully funny stories. You could tour Britain with a one man show with all that, you give it to us for free! Thanks, Mike.
Thanks Mike, it's a pleasure to share some stories from my past, and to share a few drinks with you all...... thanks Pat
Excellent video, an absolute classic. No way is Pat Dickinson having a 2.8L injection Capri - absolutely crying with laughter at that! I really enjoyed hearing about all your cars, crashes and adventures over the years, all washed down with a few pints. It's got me thinking about my motoring adventures over the last 28 years. Also, thank you for showing the bend at the end.
yeah I'd of bought the tires out of pocket at a shop so they didn't know :) .
Hello there, yes I think we all have driving stories from the past, for me they were such exciting times, luckly we did survive to tell the tail, I,LL bedriving round that bend every week for years to come, and when I say driving, I mean proper driving..... all the best Pat
Loved the vid pat. Can relate to a lot of that. Stay forever young👍😄. Look forward to the next one.
Thanks Steve, yes got to fight this old age thing, and carry on just like we did, 40 years ago, and enjoy every day....... thanks Pat
Thankyou Pat what a lovely video I remember when ya mention making this a while back and was so looking forward to it. Brilliant stories and a brilliant insight to such a great man. Keep em coming Pat could listen all day to your life's stories I bet the work ones are something else. Never heard ya swear ever but the passion of the story let it out and I liked it lol 😆
All the best Pat see ya in the next one 👌🏻👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it, cars and driving one of my great loves, although the cost have sort of put a bit of a damper on things, still got my memories from younger days, who knows what I might get next.....all the best Pat
Excellent Pat a lifetime of driving and fun, glad to see you safe in the Pub Shed again, any sparky stories to share 👍
Glad you enjoyed it....many stories from old YEB days...wether it would intrest many I don't know......thanks Pat
@@patrickdickinson6492 Its as much about the delivery as it is about the content, if you can make a clip about old cars and capture the attention of us all Pat then you definitely talk about funny stories at work mate, im sure you will have many👍
Great video pat.. really enjoyed this one..had a capri myself and watching this took me back to the 70s when I was in my teens... racing around in cars and on bikes... keep up the good work 👍🙂
Hi, and yes so many of us had a Capri in our younger days, such a beautiful looking car, and provided us with some great memories....., thanks Pat
Nice video Pat. It sparked some great motoring memories of my own. Most notably a fun drive I had in my old Ford Capri down a snowy country lane. I was giving it some beans and the back end was slipping out all over the place - great fun! However, it didn't fare too well when it had a coming together with a mighty oak tree!
Keep the videos coming
👍
Hi andy, yes does'nt always go to plan....some great times back then.....thanks Pat
tragic. Those capris were sold at Mercury dealers here in the states, still see a few at car shows.
Yep, certainly enjoyed that Patrick. Thank you.
🍻🍻🍻
My Dad would have loved this video especially the last bit. He bought himself a new Jag when he was 80 years old.🤣
Wow hope I could do the same, stay young..... all the best Pat
Hi Patrick love this video, I too am like you re camping and driving. I’m coming to the end of my career as a Ambulance paramedic, therefore I’ve had 36 years of legal joyriding I’ve never got old it’s kept me young. I too in my own car, use how I’ve been taught and experience I’ve gained to drive the country roads when clear in an enjoyable way. Keep up with your videos I’ve followed you since you started. Best wishes to you and your family
Hi there, you will of gained a lot of experience in driving an ambulance in emergency conditions , which I,am sure will make you a very safe driver....... all the best Pat
Well I certainly hope I’m still doing all the things that you are doing when I reach your age. You’re very inspiring Patrick👍🏻
Just got to keep active and follow all those thoughts dreams and ideas that appear your head...... thanks Pat
Brilliant ! thanks for the story telling Patrick
Thanks for listening, really enjoyed telling a few stories from my earlier days of driving, and sharing a few pints, felt like you were all sat with me in the pub.... thanks Pat
Another really interesting video Patrick.. as always. I miss my old XR2I those were happy days
Yep XR2, another nice Ford, very nippy little car, great for your country lanes..... all the best Pat
Thank you Patrick., another very enjoyable video. Glad to hear that your favourite car is the Capri!, we had a Capri too, a green one back in the day! My favourite car also. X
Hi Sylvia, yes will always be my favourite car, green is an unusual colour , might of been a rare one, always turn and look if I see a Capri now..... thanks Pat
Throughly enjoyed this video Pat. Brought back a few memories for me. 😆
Thanks Anthony, yes certainly brought back alot of memories myself when filming it.....thanks Pat
Cracking trip down memory lane pat, fantastic video as always 👍🥃
Thanks Chris, loved making it, so many memories coming back from the photographs.....and a few pints as well..... thanks Pat
Great video Pat, really made me laugh and made think back of the Audi Quattro I had in the 80s, just having now a pint in my pub shed, cheers Pat
Fire up the quattro...just an amazing car....cheers and nice to share a pint... thanks Pat
Loved this video pat! U had me in stichers! 😂👍🍻
Glad you enjoyed.......thanks Pat
Loved This Pat. What a young hooligan you were/are 😂😂 I was the same. I’ve been driving 40 years now. In those days. No speed cameras. No speed humps. Nothing. No anpr. We got away with murder. I used to drive my dads car a lot and I bought a few bangers. Old fiats mostly I was the scrapyards best customer. My best car was a Toyota supra TT. 1995 model. Oh my god what a machine. 175mph on the A1. The front started lifting so I eased up. That was in 2006.. I could talk to you for hours about old cars and adventures. They were just better back then. So good to watch this. Thanks for taking us along down memory “road” literally. 👍 👍 Atb 🍻
Great to have you along Andy, and there's me thinking 120 mph was pushing it, most of my most memorable times usually involved drinking, but second to that was bombing about in cars , working on cars or just looking at them, and like you so many stories associated with cars.
I,an surprised how my views seem to drop off when I put something different on, for me I loved making this video and brought back so many memories wether Mr Google has something to do with it, I don,t know...can,t just wild camp all the time.
I haven't smashed a car up for ages, backing my wife's car into a wall doesn't count, must be getting older and more sensible, must do something about that....... all the best Pat
Brilliant Patrick, I laughed out loud at several bits of that. I can relate to how your choice of car changed once family came along.
Yes all part of life, glad you saw the humourous side..... all the best Pat
Awesome, pat. Never had you down for a rebel. Top man👍🏻
Haha certainly not one for conforming..... thanks Pat
Sitting here watching you having a beer and talking about your cars and I’m sitting here with a beer enjoying your stories, cheers Patrick 🏴🏴🍺🍺
Hi Roddy, yes it feels like I,am sat sharing a drink and telling a few stories to you and many others. ....... thanks Pat ☺️
Had a bad morning at work and then a notification pops up for Pats new video. Really interesting Pat, thanks for sharing. Get yourself a little sports car and relive old times mate. Cheers Pat
Not a bad idea, a car I have never had, great to look back to those exciting times when we were young...... thanks Pat
@@patrickdickinson6492 I’ve got a 28 year old 4x4 and it’s great but not a classic. I keep looking at 80s hot hatches that I used to lust over but never had.
Entertaining as always, with your great stories, absolutely brilliant!
Glad you like them, great to share my driving adventures with a few beers...... thanks Pat
Lovely this was Pat, thank you as always.
You are so welcome Ade..... all the best Pat
hilarious revelations Sir.Brings back memories of my Vauxhall Viva & the post box in our street.
Circa 1980😁
It happened to many of us Brian, all part of the learning curve......... thanks Pat
Loved this Pat-- Im into Peugeot 205 GTi's and Mini coopers... loved the stories and we all go away in our cars at least twice a year... take good care !!
Hi John yes cars provide us with some great times and some great stories, enjoy your trips ……all the best Pat
Really enjoy your posts. I had a Capri 2.0s in 1988. Refined and great view forward over the stretch bonnet. I agree a great car.
Yes a great car, and with that massive bonnet in front of you felt like you were driving a right machine....... thanks Pat
Very enjoyable hearing about your past cars and adventures Patrick.....👌
Thanks Rob, great to share those exciting times from back then..... thanks Pat 😊
Patrick I totally agree you have had some classic Ford's Like the Orion Ghia but for me the Ford Capri will always be a classic I had 2 in my driving career and I would have always loved a 2.8 injection or a 280 Brooklands as they were the ultimate. Great to reminisce about the old days and your car collection with a few pints to go with it cheers 🍻
Yes best car I ever had, the shape the driving position just perfect.....all the best Pat
Brilliant upload Pat. Loved it. I used to work for Y.E.B as a meter fixer. Parkway depot Sheffield. I also had an Rover 600 one of the most comfortable cars I ever had. ;-)
Hi there, I,am sure our paths will of crossed at some point, I started at Commercial Street.....all the best Pat
Cracking Pat, knew you were going to say Capri. Topper memories in a topper pub!
Thanks Ian, such a great car, and so much fun...... thanks Pat
Thanks again Pat. You never disappoint, I've been patiently waiting for your next video. I love getting out and driving also, mostly pickups and jeeps though.
Been sitting at home doing chemo treatments, it get boring not getting out lol.
Thanks again
My pleasure to entertain you....thanks Pat
A totally different side to you I had no idea about and I like it! I can definitely relate to the speed thing and even progressed to a Honda Blackbird motorbike which I bought new in 1998 and still have to this day. While it's getting more and more difficult to enjoy driving rather than looking out for cameras everywhere, I still have a blast in both my car and bike from time to time whenever I feel fully awake and there's a clear stretch of road and like you, I do not believe in getting old.
Hi Dave yes was my main intrest years ago, but like you love going for a blast round.....feels still the same as it did all those years ago.......thanks Pat
Great stuff Pat👌. Better times... fast bikes and fast cars for me. I wouldn't change a minute of it, and I'm sure you wouldn't either!
Great stories...and you tell it so well.
Thanks for sharing, ATVB Alistair 👍
Thanks Alistair, yes totally agree, took some risks, caused my parents a lot of worry, but had some fantastic times which left me with somé great memories........ all the best Pat 👍
Hi Pat, cracking video, you had me laughing out loud with your anecdotes, especially the one where your gearstick gaitor got blown off!!! What better place to listen than to be perched on the bar in your pub shed ....... I must admit it was a bit crowded there with 48.9K others , not much elbow room either and the beer ran out all too quickly😁😁
The YEB were definately irresponsible letting you have that Capri!! That was a lovely kit car you made, maybe just as well you didnt get chance to fit that V8 in the end!!! You left us with some great driving through the peak district, was that snake pass?
I expect that most of us have some driving anecdotes, so here goes. My first car was a Capri, a MKII, unfortunately went up in flames just before Xmas whilst I was driving so that was the end of that. After a Triumph and Consul Cortina (steering column gearchange) I got my dream car (at the time) a 1600E Cortina that one didnt turn out well either after a crash and getting it repaired it too went up in smoke on the motorway at Leicester, I had flames at my feet before I could get it onto the hard shoulder and get out.
Eventually, through a friend at work , I got into banger racing, that is banger racing my cars when they got to the end of their life. I honestly dont think Ive ever had a greater burst of adrenaline in my life.
These days I've calmed down a bit but would love to get a classic car like a Triumph Vitesse, no good having an open top down here, you would frazzle!! But soon they will be all electric and only a few will have the knowhow in order to tinkle with them.
I'm just wondering whether you will have chance to test those snow shoes you made, I know its being snowing hard up there.
Great video Pat, all the best and good luck from Spain!!
Nice to hear from you David and some nice stories, some of your old cars would be worth a fortune, always fancied a 1600 E.
Banger racing sounds exciting, although I have never really competed in any motor sport.
The snow up here was a big surprise, probably around 18 inch, spent all morning clearing it , but it will of gone on Monday and hopefully that's the last of it...... all the best Pat 👍
That is undeniably one of the best videos yet absolutely brings back so many many memories for in my case Vauxhall astra 1300s Vauxhall viva with no brakes but handbrake used to help us stop 6 in the Vauxhall viva how we survived with that thing is impossible to fathom out we wrecked it ultimately but your right the old cars were the best brilliant video thanks 👍😊 again for sharing it's always a pleasure to watch them all...
It was a pleasure to make, and a pleasure to share, so many memories of earlier days that alot of us can relate to.
How we all survived I don't know but it's certainly provided us with some great stories to tell...... all the best Pat 😊
Fabulous vid Pat. Loved hearing about your motoring escapades. Agreed, the Capri was a superb machine, I had a late 2.8i on a D plate and my Dad had a Signal a yellow 3.0s back in 78 when you had your 2.0s. Your scrapes were so similar to mine. 👍
Yeah Capri,s must run in families, my dad had a red Mk 1they were all great cars, even though never got myself a 2.8. It got me into alot of trouble, but loved all the time I had with my Capri....... all the best Pat
Patrick. What a very enjoyable & funny video, thanks so much. Get yourself the 2.8 Injection Capri. You deserve it. Cheers 🍻
I wish I could afford one, then I could relive my younger days....great to share my memories..... thanks Pat
Just discovered your videos . Brilliant. I had 3 capris in the 80's . The 2.0 S was great fun. Excellent viewing.
Welcome aboard Mike, and great to have you along, this video was a bit different from my normal ones, but driving was a major part of my life and still is. Majority of my videos are on wild camping, but like to throw in different stuff occasionally......thanks Pat
Patrick is even more awesome than usual. Thanks
Thank you so much Craig, good to look back to some amazing years when we were a lot younger......thanks Pat
Love the insight to your cars pat.
Im an ex pat now living in Oz.
Being a pom i love my hot hatches and left the UK owning a Pug 205gti 1.9.
I now own the Ford fiesta ST.
Lets just say Pat,that if you ever get one it will be the best driving experiance you will ever of had.
Hi Macca, yes had read up about them, look amazing for what you would pay......thanks Pat
Patrick Dickinson this is your life 😅 brilliant video pat ... looking back over your past 50 years thanks for sharing was very enjoyable 👍
Haha, yes it was my life of motoring and cars, loved every minute of it...... thanks Pat
I always knew you were super cool Pat but this is another level. Quality stuff.
Really nice of you to say Lenny.....great to look back...... thanks Pat
Forever young …. Awesome 😎. Could sit and drink with you for hours 👌🏻🍻
Yes forever young, that's my plan..... thanks Pat 💗
Great video. Many thanks for the in memoriam mention of my brother Billy Knowles - much appreciated. I know how much he enjoyed being on those overseas trips with you.
Hi Richard, I could never forget Billy, we had such great times together, he'll always be in my thoughts. Lat time I was in a car with you it was in your dad's Mayflower, turning into Ranby Rd off Rustlings Rd, quire scary, I still think of it if I walk past.....all the best Pat
@@patrickdickinson6492 Thanks - yes I still remember the Triumph Mayflower incident - if it hadn't been for the jacking pont hitting the kerb and bouncing us back up we'd have rolled the car. Young and foolhardy but great memories. All the best. Richard
HAH! We have wild camping AND love of cars in common, (oh yeah, beer too) Nice one mate!
A lot in common, all exciting and enjoyable..... all the best Pat
Wow! I've loved your wild camping and exploration videos for quite some time but this was just brilliant! You are a few years older than me but I have such great memories of my 1st car, a Mk2 Capri that I bought in 1987 as an 18year old.
I too drove too fast, loved getting the back end out around the bends, had a whole heap of fun and then stuffed it into the back of a VW Golf.....I had to calm down after that and ended to buying a Morris Marina 😁😁.
Thanks for the memories
Yes wild camping is my main interest now, but when younger it was cars, so many exciting times we had. My videos vary like my interests do, and it's good to vary things, as the same old thing can get boring.... all the best Pat
Brilliant video Pat. I’m a similar age to yourself so all the cars you mentioned harked back to my era. Seeing the grainy photos rekindled lots of my own memories about travel abroad and the vehicles I owned. I owned a little mini for a while and remember water pouring in through the footwell seam lol and the engine water jacket pressure relief valves (round plugs in the water jacket) blowing due to a dodgy thermostat! Up in the Lakes at the time! Thanks for sharing your memories 👍
Absolutely, making the video brought back so many memories for me and I can understand it doing the same for my viewers, life was simpler back then, but every day was still a new adventure , loved my Mini as well.... thanks Pat
Cheers for another great Video Pat :-)
There’s something so evocative about memories of your past cars and you and I are from that generation that associated getting a set of wheels with freedom and adventure. 😊
And the story about the mechanic taking off the bumper off to find congealed cow muck made me laugh out load - was watching on the train on the train in the way back from work and think those around me wondered what I was laughing at lol 😂
All the best, and looking forward to the next one. You’re the best thing in you tube by a mile !
Best,
Steve
Thanks Steve, really nice comments, and your right once you've past your test, got your wheels .... freedom, you can go anywhere....... all the best Pat 😊
Great stuff Patrick thanks for taking us along :)
Been a pleasure, such exciting times back then..... thanks Pat
Great stories, did make me laugh.👍🏻
Good to hear Dave, that's all I want to hear...... all the best Pat
Hi Pat. Another great video with some interesting cars. I know what you mean about 'spirited' driving. Until recently I had a 500bhp supercharged V8 Jaguar XFR. I used to scare myself regularly in that lol. See you on the next video. 👍
Wow sounds fantastic.....I could imagine you would scare yourself with all that power.....thanks Pat
I just got into F1 after spending a few years in tree climbing, and once again Patrick you're kinda like my hero. I hope someday to achieve the level of slack and awesome that you are sir.
Those are really nice comments, appreciate that..... thanks Pat
Interesting video and some really nice cars. I do love your little pub in your garden, I'd be no good having one though, I'd constantly 'just be having one more' 😂.
Thank you, and yes just one more can be a problem , the pub will not let you go especially when the music , and beer are on together.... thanks Pat
Great different kind of film Pat. I have a chequered history myself. Brilliant to see all those old cars.
Thanks Dan good to do something different..... thanks Pat
Great video pat..loved cars when I was young
You and me both Tony....such exciting days back then.....thanks Pat
Thanks for the memories.
My pleasure....some great memories..... thanks Pat
Mega! Haven't laughed so much in ages! An adventurous and entertaining reminisce. Being involved in rallying and having a Twingo RS as a road car, my colleagues have similar responses to my similarly enthusiastic driving, that I obviously must be completely mental.
Yes I have the same problem, people think I should tootle along at 20 mph, which no way more of a hazard at that speed, driving certainly generates some great stories..... all the best Pat
Nice one pat, it brought back many memories of my own vehicles, the first of which was a lagoon blue, 105E Ford Anglia😅
Hi Richard lovely car the Anglia, not so many about now, some big wheels and a 1500 engine, instant rally car..... thanks Pat 😊
I must have missed this upload. Just searched your channel to see if you had put anything on as have been waiting and notice you uploaded 2 weeks ago, silly me, gonna sit back relax and enjoy this. Thanks Pat
Hope you enjoyed it, it's a journey back in time to my younger years....... all the best Pat 😊
@@patrickdickinson6492 Certainly did Pat. Caught myself laughing out loud at the flipped caravan on the M1. And also upper management saying no way is Pat Dickinson having a 2.8L injection Capri. See you on the next one
Hi. Nice wee drive after a few pints in the shed Pat! Just like the old days eh?. Again another enjoyable video. Atb Johnny :)
Thanks Johnny👍....they were really exciting days back then.....thanks Pat
Hi pat. Fantastic video. Great to see you looking so well. Keep up the good work 🙂🙏
Thank you kindly...see you on the next one.... thanks Pat
Very nice Pat ..always stop what im doing to watch a video from you..👍
Thanks Mal👍.....nice to share a hour and a beer.... thanks Pat
Excellent Pat lad. Great memories and ones that I can identify with to an extent, though I only binned one car (Mk 1 MR2, though it was fixed) 😎! Loved the European tour trips, and the local road epic drives. Stay young mate, and cheers!
Hi Gary great car you had a Mk 1 MR2, my wife wanted one of those, good to look back to those great days when we were younger...... thanks Pat
Fantastic Pat, one of my favourite videos yet! Brings back memories of my first car given to me by my grandad. It was a maroon B-reg MK3 Ford Escort 1.3 Laser estate. After a while I had the 1.3 swapped for a 1.6 XR3 engine by a mechanic in Heeley, got it lowered and added some mk4 RS turbo alloys plus the biggest sound system I could fit. Had some great fun bombing around Sheffield in that car! Not sure what my grandad thought of it though 😄
Sounds a great customisation you did, and I bet he sound system sounded fantastic .....great memories of those early days of driving..... thanks Pat
"Blew the gearstick gaiter off" 🤣🤣🤣 Fantastic video Pat. Hilarious, and some wonderful photos and memories too. Thank you for sharing, made my night!
I'm a car lover too as I've been brought up with them. Currently own a 1966 MGB Roadster, passed down to me from my uncle. Not a great driver's car, but still very enjoyable and it brings a smile to the face when out driving it (well, when it's working!). It's in mint condition now after a lot of work. Fantastic to see your progress pics on your GT! What a transformation!
You should definitely get a hobby car. I'd love to see a series of videos of the progress on that. You'll got a lot of talent to put to further use.
Hi Alistair, yes I would love another project car, but not sure if I would have enough time, hols and other things seem to swallow up spare time. MGB sounds nice, grea t for summer, and country lanes.
Great to share my driving stories which I,am sure we all have lots of..... thanks Pat
Wonderful video Pat, I bet making it brought back some memories 🚗
Certainly did James, each one of those photographs brought back some amazing memories...... thanks Pat
Patrick - this is superb! 😂
Thank you so much, really enjoyed making it, the memories, the beer and chatting to friends...... thanks Pat
Enjoyed this so much
Your very welcome, and great to share my motoring memories....exciting times back then..... thanks Pat
Hi Patrick. I thought 40:50min vlog about cars 🫣 Then I watched and really got into it. I must admit you had me cracked up laughing quite a few times. 'No way is Patrick Dickinson having a 2.8l car' 😂😂😂 Then the slurry and bumper repair. I did cackle. When I saw the caravan upside down, I just thought, he's done it again!!! Then you say it's not you, lol. It's a very funny vlog, which I must admit I watched all the way through, and I'm really glad I did. I thoroughly enjoyed it. As for me, my first car was a Talbot Sunbeam, bright orange. Now I'm driving a Mercedes GLC250D 4MATIC. I've gone from one extreme to another. But being 4 in line, it really holds the corners in the Peaks. Brilliant vlog, thank you so much for sharing. Have a great weekend.
Hi Chris, great to share my driving stories, been wanting to do this video for ages, and loved making it, brought back so many memories, and probably stirred a few memories in my viewers.
There were so many stories had to limit it or I could of talked for hours, just felt like you were all sat in my pub with me.... all the best Pat
Nothing better than driving around the Peak District, we do that often especially in the summer evenings. Great video Pat, would love you to do more exploring around Sheffield like you use to do, as you make it so interesting to watch.
Thanks Lindsey👍....just ran out of local places to explore.....all the best Pat
Pat your a legend , had some close calls myself don't regret any of it and when I am in the mood I still do
Just how I feel Timothy, hopefully our skill and experience compensate for our age....... thanks Pat
Loved hearing you driving exploits. I thought you were particularly diplomatic regarding the driver when the caravan was wrecked🙂I struggle to remember all the cars I've had but I'm 78 now and driving the fastest one I've ever owned. It's German and 200 bhp and just shy of 150 mph (allegedly) and I love it.
Wow there's me thinking 120 mph was pushing it, fantastic to hear your story, and that sounds some car.....: all the best Pat
Excellent, Pat!
My pleasure Kerry....great days back then......thanks Pat
Great video Patrick. I'm glad there's somebody else who isn't going to go quietly 😂. Takes me back to my first car in 1970. A £50 minivan. Loved it. If I could find it now I'd buy it back. Probably scrapped decades ago. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to make this video. All the best to you. Cheers. 👍
It would cost more than £50 good ones fetch well over 10 grand 👍🏻
Hi Paul yes great little vehicle, like a mini but cough carry several friends in the back, would love one now, but couldn't afford what there asking..... thanks Pat
Good point. I couldn't afford to buy it back now. 😄
Drove a works mini van in 1971 Beige, 3 foot long gear lever.
Great stories and photos Pat.
Thanks Andy, some great times back then........ thanks Pat ☺️
