    Mate when I was in the Marines we used to carry things like eggs in water bottles, all ready cracked and out of the shells. when you needed them just poor one out. If you only want 2 eggs to take then get small bottle with large open neck. Job done. In the cold they will keep fresh for days pal.

      When I were a Royal Engineer we used to nick eggs from farms, then they were really fresh when we cooked 'em for breakfast. In the cold we eat them as soon as we nicked 'em. Job done

      @@patrickdickinson6492 Hi Pat. I bought a Swedish made " Walkstool Comfort 55cm - 22 inch model XL " about eight years ago. I'm 100kg and had tried many other stools and all of them failed. This stool is top quality - will last and works on all sorts of soft to boggy earth. I also invested in the optional Steady attachment which gives extra stability on softer grounds and works really well. Just Google walkstool-comfort-55cm. I used it when I went out to paint my watercolours and I wholly recommend it - Its a quality product and really comfy. All the best.

    I really enjoy your vids Pat - I've recently started wild camping again after many years off and you've really inspired me. I'm stuck for time and can't usually leave the house till 8.30pm on a Saturday, for 1 night's camping; so i'm tending to camp quite close to home (within an hours drive) with a short walk to our chosen spot. I've got a gammy leg following a really bad leg injury 16 yrs ago and my mate has a pacemaker, so we can't do what we could 30 yrs ago in our 20's; but we really have fun. Keep the vids coming Pat, they're really good - thanks

This video was the first video I had viewed in your series and I made a few derogatory remarks questioning your abilities. Since then I have watched several of your videos and have realised what a condescending Ass I have been. You are obviously a man of fair knowledge and experience in the ways of outdoor activities and I would like to express my sincerest apologies for any misconceptions I have brought about due to my miss guided comments. Keep up the good work, Yours Sincerely, Norman. PS. I have with drawn my previous comments and have also picked up a few good tips from your subsequent videos, thank you.

    woot woot! 🙌 A video from Patrick!!! Great way to wind down at the end of the day - 8.12PM Tuesday here in Brisbane. We'd already had dinner, but we could smell your beaut tucker as we watched you cooking - especially the bacon. 🍳 When you unpacked the lamb chops I was relieved when you said you knew about how much they spit fat everybloomin'where. Great video Patrick, thanks. Hope you're having a good day there wherever you are. Cheers!

    Another lovely film Pat. I'm very impressed that you leave your campsite spotless before you get on your way home. I remember a walk I used to do in Sheffield which was composed of 3 adjoining parks. If I remember rightly, the first one started near Brocco Bank and it ended up in the hills.

    Patrick, I recommend you buy your bacon from the Whirlow Hall Farm Shop. They make some wonderful dry cured bacon from their own reared pigs. It does not create that liquid in the pan as it fries. You passed the farm on your way out of the city

    i know what you mean about lumbago, and just to make life more pleasant, i just had sciatica, and had to virtually sit on my arse for seven weeks, i looked it up on line, and the majority medical opinion, was, it will clear up on its own in 6 weeks, yep they were right, but ive still got the lumbago, the reason i mention it, is because, you do the exploring for me, so that i dont feel trapped, in a crappy city, its a godsend, because it distracts you, and it feels like your still active, and actually there, so thank you

    Wow. Awesome. Happy new year Pat. That was a dinner and breakfast for a camping King that's you. That cooking is better than I do at home. Don't know how you stay warm, but you do. blackydon Hi and thanks for kind comments, did not know about covers worth a try or I stick to my liquid fuel Whisperlite in cold conditions. The cooking side always love doing and the eating as well. Got a few interesting camping ideas for later in Spring, all the best Pat

  • @esa062
    @esa062 Před 6 lety

    Nice campsite without a lot of traffic. You eat well outdoors. If your gas cooker has a pre-heating coil, you can manage better in low temperatures by having the gas bottle upside down. Then the gas is fed to the tube in liquid form and you don't have veporize it with the heat of the bottle. The flame gives the energy for that. The bottle needs to only have enough pressure to push the liquid out.

    • @patrickdickinson6492
      @patrickdickinson6492  Před 6 lety
