    Hey brother, just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate what you do. I literally bought this mower brand new from a reputable home improvement warehouse & the throttle linkage was not adjusted appropriately. I watched your video & found my issue to be EXACTLY what you described in your video. Thanks to your video, I fixed the problem in no time & didn’t have to deal with returns or service or any other bs. Thanks again your help is much appreciated.

    Love your stuff. I was having a starting issue and thought it was the starting switch, turned out to be the solenoid. In-between checking out the issue, I changed this very same cable to move the gas tank out of the way. I jumped directly to the starter, crank but no start. So, I was not sure where to place the cable. Now I do. MANY, MANY thanks.

    I had a brand new cub cadet xt1 lt46 delivered to my home, tried to start the mower and it would only crank over but would not start, fooled around with the harness near the starter and found a black plastic or ceramic block taped to the harness, once I separated that block a little from the harness the mower started like a champ! Hope this helps someone in case this happens to them

    Great video! Our KT735 has the exact same linkage set up and now starts first time every time. Only issue is its always had too high an idle speed. The orange governor spring won't let it go any slower than 2500. Is there an adjustment to bring the idle down without changing the WOT speed? Tightening the idle screw up on top of the carburetor will increase the idle. Loosening the screw has no effect.

    I was wondering why my mower wouldn't start after I replaced the throttle cable, and you had the answer. Thanks! Now I can't get the idle to work: the cable curves up, and the control won't go all the way down. I guess I should start from the idle and work to fast, and then to choke?

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Try and find a good used one or put a seat cover on it. To get a aftermarket seat you will need to do some research and measurements to make sure it will fit and make sure the seat switch will work. I do not get into finding seats due to way too much trouble getting it all to come together and be safe(seat safety switch works).

      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  Před měsícem +1

      (1) Flooding condition, possible by leaving the choke on to long while cranking the engine over (2) dirt inside the carburetor caught in between the needle vale and seat causing fuel to seep by.

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines

      It may be stuck? I cannot tell you what you have without seeing the machine. The choke rod in the video shows how it works. It's straight forward. You may not have this exact set up. There are a few different choke set ups on the 7000 series engine. This is one of them. Some have an electric choke.

I do not recommend washing your machine unless necessary. My customers are paying me to service or repair there machines and I would never perform a service or repair, then taking it back in dirty condition. I take pride in my work and I also think you all enjoy and learn much better when the machine is clean. Own an XT-1 LT-50 and made a choke adjustment (wasn't closing) - worked great. I have a surging problem however, wonder if anyone could give me a tip. Sent it to the dealer to fix this issue, was charge $430.00 and the mower came back with the same surging issue. Engine revs, then dies down (not completely), then revs, then dies down, etc. Had to have the mower transported since I do not have a trailer - do not want to re-engaged with the mower repair people. Any ideas on what causes this?

      @@JohnsonsSmallEngines I figured it out. Was charged $600 for 3 blades + 1 new carb (+$80 both ways to transport). Mower was returned and was surging worse than it was when I sent it to the shop. I finally fixed it on my own - turned out that a new fuel pump + fixing the choke (wasn't opening/closing correctly) and finally tweaking the air/fuel mix screw on the carburator did the job. Running great now. Take home message: Do your own carb work - too many repair businesses are taking advantage of us good folks.
