Ride on, I've noticed that sound and now I know what the problem is. I've owned my dyson ball for many years and have learned to fix every single issue by experience, the one comment you stated rings true, after market parts are definitely not the same as original dyson parts, connections are slightly different on after market parts and they might affect the performance of attachments. Another great video, I find myself watching just for entertainment value. :)
Dyson multi floor 2 makes terrible noise when winding down after i shut it off any ideas? Looking at this for a friend, i notice the filter has been removed when i started looking into the source on the noise. It does sound like motor noise, i would say the machine is between 5 an 10 years old probably closer to 10. TIA
Hi, normally I would recommend changing the filter, but you mentioned that the filter has been removed. Please confirm if you are hearing the noise when the filter is installed or are you also hearing the noise when the filter is removed.

That howling sound happened on my Dyson DC24 as well. Some lubricant helped me. But it all dries out again after washing the filter.
