Thank you for your video on this vaccum. My neighbor gave me her old one. I replaced the brush roller switch and it works. The problem I'm having is when I place the vaccum on the carpet the brush roller stops! Do you or Anyone else on here knows what I need to do to make the brushroll continue to spin? Thank you for your help!
It could be that the belt is bad or is slipping, or parts of the brush that turn it are broken?? Maybe the soleplate? I ended up giving the vacuum away so I don’t have it for reference.

The unknown part & it’s purpose is a vacuum relief valve, if the vacuum is blocked the motor would quickly overheat with no air flow.

Isopropyl alcohol cleans that while wall paint right off

Why didn’t you remove the motorhead to work on it…? You likely broke the baseplate yourself
