  • I'm sure I don't use the correct terminology, but I walk you through how to troubleshoot your power switch and plug on the Dyson DC25 Animal. Hope this helps some other amateur out there.

I have a Dyson Multi Floor. It overheated and stopped working. I cleaned out the roller after detaching. Still didn't turn back on. Considered replacing the plug. HOWEVER, I JUST LET IT COOL OFF AND NOW IT WORKS. SO TRY THAT TOO!

My Dyson is over ten years old . Today I was using it and went to turn it on again and no power . Checked outlet , it’s fine . I had just used it monuments before . I’m very careful about unplugging it correctly and no signs of damage along cord or plug . What am I missing ?

That didn't tell you 100% that it was the plug, it told you that from the plug to the other end of the power lead there was a fault most of the time when I've done exactly that I have found it to be a break in either the live or neutral where the wire is constantly being bent (fatigue) and the wire gets stuck under a door or you try to reach far away and the wire is pulled taught causing the copper wire inside to break, but at least you have ruled the fault down to just 2 things, the plug or the wire.
