  • Hello CZcamsrs.
    Let`s talk a little bit about buying new cameras and lenses all the time . Is it a gear addiction or not if we buy all the time the latest and greatest gear released on the market . I have to admit that I have this problem as well and sometimes it takes serious struggle not to purchase the newest cameras. I`m lucky that I don`t have enough money to afford that anyway . LOL LOL But here I would like to talk about miss conceptions between new photographers . Sometimes they think that if they buy x or y camera they will become better in photography. Well I have to tell you that it is not the case. A new shiny Mirrorless or a DSLR (Nikon or Sony or Canon ) will not increase your posing techniques or your light manipulation abilities . You will have to learn for that. And that`s what some people don`t understand. So let`s talk a little bit about this controversial topic and please share your opinion with us below in the comments section. If you do not agree with me in something it is ok but please comment in a polite manner.

    You are correct of course. I love my a6000. I get great results with it. But recently I have started doing some events and the a6000 just can't focus well enough in low light situations. So I bought a D7200 as I know from experience that it's low light focus is better than the a6000. Also the D7200 has dual card slots and weather sealing. And I can get superb lenses for it at very reasonable prices. I get the equipment I need to do the job at the time.
    Your point about lenses is totally right. My best pictures (in my opinion) are from my sharpest lens. Which is the Sigma 60mm 2.8 on my a6000. It is super sharp! I would buy it if it cost much more. I would rather a great lens on an a6000 than a mediocre lens on an a7iii for most situations.

      Scott Williams Photography absolutely agree with you. That's what I am doing now. Building a great lens arsenal.

      I'm looking to get more lenses. My next one should be the Samyang 85mm 1.4. I'm going to buy it for nikon as I can use it on the a6000 with a 10 quid adapter.

      Scott Williams Photography the Voigtlander 56mm f1. 4 for Nikon is a great lens as well. I am going to try it out and probably buy it. It is about 400 euro new.

    Agree with all the points you made. I will say that part of why we upgrade is because it's so damn enjoyable! lol Sure, if money is not an issue then of course you can keep upgrading as much as you want, but adding or improving your gear isn't a bad thing to do either. Upgrades don't change your ability as a photographer ultimately but they can change how you shoot, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse if you've made a poor buying decision. I know many will disagree but buying new gear is also very motivating too. Yes, I know you should be passionate enough not for this to be an incentive but honestly how many of us dont love to go out and play with our new toy? 😊

      dunnymonster yes it is great feeling that's true. The only thing that annoys me is when people think that without x or y camera you can't do good job.

      eagleeye photo every single day I try to find a believable realistic reason for it, but unfortunately until now I didn't find one. And my wife would definitely kill me if I would spend 10 000 euro on gear 😂😂😂

    I buy a camera once every ten years, whether I need one or not. Just extravagant I guess.

    Do you prefer sony or fuji in mirrorless system? Torn between a6300 and xt20 what to get. Fuji seems to be pricey

      Especially here in Ireland

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  Před 6 lety +1

      Pavo P yes it is a bit pricy because Fuji has only great lenses. You see every manufacturer have a cheaper lens line-up and the expensive pro line-up. Fuji has only great lenses. Honestly if you want to get full frame in the future get Sony otherwise 200% FujiFilm. I don't want to get into full frame because the difference between the APS-C and FF is negligible. If I would upgrade, I would buy medium format to see a real jump from APS-C. I used to own the Sony a7R 36mp FF camera and believe me there was only a tiny bit of difference between the APS-C a6000 and the 36mp FF.
      But that is my opinion only.

      Blue Sky Photography thank you. Everyone seems to saying fuji has quality lenses. What do you think about their kit lens. Lot of people praising it but would sony primes like 35mm be better quality than fuji kit lens. I own nikon 3200 but bulkiness of it makes me keep it more at home than carry around ha

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  Před 6 lety +1

      Pavo P I own the 18-55 f2.8-4 kit lens and I tell you that it is better in my opinion than the Sony 35mm f1. 8 prime. It's not as fast but it's better image quality especially for landscape and general purposes. I did own the 35mm f1.8 and the 50mm f1.8 from Sony, also the 55mm f1.8 Zeiss. They are all excellent lenses but the Fuji lenses are on par without any doubt.

      Blue Sky Photography thank you for opinion.hopefully xt 20 price will go down by the Christmas if not I'll probably get a6000. What in your opinion are best lenses to get if ill go with sony.

    Thank you sir. I would spend my budget on 40% knowledge and books, 30% on lighting, 20% on lens and 10% on body....

    I cannot agree more. In fact there are some delusional guys who constantly want to change/"upgrade" - as if the camera takes pictures and getting the "right" camera will magically transform their pictures. Those same guys are stingy while buying lenses - they won't spend $500+ on quality lenses but are willing to spend $1000+ on another body. I have given up trying to reason with them - IMO it is a wrong conception that cannot be easily corrected.

      ds.techie unfortunately you are right. But hey it's their own problem isn't it?
