  • Hello CZcamsrs .
    Everione is talking about Nikon and their plan releasing full frame mirrorless cameras. They plan to release a 24mp and a 45mp full frame mirrorless with a new mount , but in the same time they release an adapter as well to be able to use all the existing Nikon glass . But unfortunately I heard some rumors and I think that Nikon is going to make another huge mistake like in the past several times . They have the tendency to underestimate Sony and they think that because they used to be soo good they can`t get knocked out.......but really can`t they????? I think that they should be more careful and vise because SOny and FujiFilm is attacking severely. But anyway ,let`s talk a little bit about Nikon mirrorless possibilities and rumors .

    I think that Sony has made it in the full frame department as well as Fuji has it in Aps-c.
    As you have said Attila, Nikon and Canon have simply no lenses and I have a very bad feeling especially for Nikon.

      El Duderinho unfortunately I have to agree with you. I like Nikon but they are stupid and never care about the customer. Anyway I am really curious about what will happen at Photokina?

  • @justyjust
    @justyjust Před 6 lety

    You're right about the pricing they need to Keep the price down, I thought the d850 and Nikon senors are made by Sony. Nikon and Sony should do a merger and produce a sonykon 😉.

      justyjust hey hey I think that's not a bad idea at all. 😂😂😂😂 Nikon fan boys will crucify me now 🤔🤔🤔

    Nikon should come out with a 35mm a 85mm prime and a 24-70 zoom and a 70-200 zoom right away. Then add a wide room.

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  Před 6 lety +1

      terry breedlove hopefully they will have enough brain to realize the need of the native lenses, and they won't make the same mistake Sony did. They took their time anyway so it should not be a problem.

    I hope the Nikon mirrorless cameras will be larger than the Sony's which to my mind are toy like in size. I like a real mans camera with nicely placed buttons.
    Yes pricing will be important, but if you are one of the market leaders you cannot sell your camera for a bargain price. But then again this will be Nikons first attempt (sic) and it will be on the second or third version that they will get everything right (hopefully)

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  Před 6 lety

      DigNap15 well the market leader position is kind of debatable 😂😂😂 I think that Canon and soon enough Sony will take this dream away from Nikon. But I agree with the fact that only the second or third version will be the one to buy. If there will be second and third versions???

    • @terrywbreedlove
      @terrywbreedlove Před 6 lety

      It is said that the new Nikon mirrorless cameras are much better in hand than the Sony. That great ergonomics was a big goal in the design. This comes from Nikons decades of experience.

  • @ScottWilliamsPhotography

    I agree. They can't sell them at those prices. Unless they have some amazing specs like 8k video and 100fps shooting. They will also have to bundle the adapter or sell it for peanuts or they won't get people with Nikon lenses on board.

    • @BlueSkyPhotography

    They will nail it. It would be funny to see that Nikon can make FF mirrorless camera in first attemp , knowing that Sony has already 3rd generation. Fingers crossed they know what they are doing. 10 years ago they nailed it with D700 even though on paper 5dM2 was much better. Specs don't mean as much as complete feeling and usability.

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  Před 6 lety

      Milorad Karavidin unfortunately man I am really sceptic about this. Hopefully you are right but I don't believe it. Although I want to believe I think they will screw it up AGAIN LIKE USUAL!!! But hopefully you will be right. 😁😁😁

      @miloradkaravidin8818 Před 6 lety

      Specs look fine (rumored), price is fine with kit lens. Just AF they have to nail.

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  Před 6 lety

      Milorad Karavidin I think the price is a bit high even with the kit zoom. Should be kind of 2500$ in my opinion, especially because the zoom is f4.

    • @miloradkaravidin8818
      @miloradkaravidin8818 Před 6 lety

      I do not think a few hundred dollars will make a difference for someone who has heavily invested in Nikon glass and can use that glass on new body (fingers crossed this will work well). By changing system people will lose much more. And maybe just maybe Nikon has something in their sleeves that will make it stand out, in good way of course.

    I sincerely hope Nikon don't use the sensor from the D850 in their high end mirrorless camera. Why? Well, if that sensor was made by TowerJazz we can assume incompatibility with phase detect video AF ( I'm not aware of any TowerJazz sensors that support phase detect video AF, correct me if I'm wrong ).So that immediately means contrast video AF only and that simply won't compete with Sony on any level. Sure, it would still make for a great stills camera I don't doubt that but Sony's prowess in video will continue to give it the edge. Regards the need for f1.2 lenses, honestly on FF it's just not needed in my opinion. There comes a point where the depth of field gets so shallow it renders the lens useless at that aperture. The extra light transmission is easily offset with a slight increase in ISO. I'm looking forward to seeing what Nikon release and sadly I'm bracing myself for dissapointment. I hope I'm wrong. That said I'm perfectly happy using my DSLRs until they fall apart 😉

    • @eagleeyephoto8715
      @eagleeyephoto8715 Před 6 lety

      dunnymonster Sensor in the d850 is Sony made and think they will reuse same sensor with addition of the Phase detect cross points.

    • @dunnymonster
      @dunnymonster Před 6 lety

      eagleeye photo Yeah it's still a topic of debate the D850's sensor. Some insist it's TowerJazz others state it's Sony. For Nikon's sake let's hope it is Sony made, if so that at least gives me some confidence of a Nikon Camera with good video AF which frankly would be a first 😊

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  Před 6 lety

      dunnymonster yes I hope they will use a sensor with hybrid auto focus, otherwise it is not going to stand against the a7 iii.

    Attila do you think Nikon will be much quicker to turn out new glass because they have so much experience compared to Sony struggling in the beginning?

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  Před 6 lety

      Longrider unfortunately I don`t think so . Logically that`s the way it should be , but Nikon has this stubborn way of doing things. That`s the reason why they are way behind Sony and many others when it comes to mirrorless . They should do it and honestly I hope they will , because otherwise they will lose market again after Sony will release the a6700 and the a7S iii . Hopefully they came back to common sense .LOL LOL

      Nikon have been waiting for the chance to bring out a new mount for years and this camera would have been in the planning stage for years i reckon, they will hit it out the park with this one. They will have built this camera with reliability, ergonomics and most importantly the lenses in mind from the start. Id say they first designed the perfect lenses and then designed the mount and body around this, lenses are what Nikon do. Also i don't really see why people need so many lenses. I shoot film and since coming back i realised you really need 3 maybe 4 lenses max unless you are in a specialised field.

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  Před 6 lety

      tallaganda83 I agree with you on need of lenses. Hopefully Nikon will be clever enough to release at least 3 fast primes with the camera. The adapter is not a good idea in my opinion. People have to see that they actually plan long term with this one, not like the other mirrorless attempt they abandoned.

  • @a1m153
    @a1m153 Před 6 lety

    Hallo Attila,
    please let us discuss:
    Can Nikon realy use the D850 sensor in mirrorless cameras? Think about the AF-system! In DSLM the sensor has to provide AF.
    Why is an adapter bad? A Nikon lense, Nikon adapter and Nikon camera should work together perfectly. They understand each other.
    Why is 24 MB bad for a Nikon camera? The FF mirrorless top camera of an competitor has only 24 MB and sells as hell. What for do you need more MB? Think of post prozess handling!
    The weight is not the point. It is EVF-WISIWIG, eye-AF, IBIS, AF-focuspoints, AF-speed.
    Just my thoughts...

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  Před 6 lety

      A1 M1 they could use the sensor but obviously they have to place auto focus points on it. The issue is that Nikon is using contrast detection auto focus, and that is not as effective as the hybrid contrast /phase detection. So I am really curious about this but honestly I am not really optimistic.
      About the adapter. Being the same brand as the camera and lens is a guarantee that it will work perfectly. Look at Sony's attempts with LA-EA4. It didn't work out well isn't it? I don't trust that because an extra piece of electronics which gives the chance of going wrong. I like native glass. But hey that's only my opinion.
      About 24 mp. I suppose you meant mp not mb.
      I think that these days APS-C sensors are soo good that if a full frame sensor is only 24 mp there is no big difference between the two. Believe me that I made tests with 36mp FF sensor and 24mp APS-C sensor and the difference was negligible. The only situation where the FF has advantages is low light and dynamic range. But even that difference is only one stop, so that can be balanced up with faster glass. But when we speak about 45mp FF sensor, the story is different. All in all I am not very optimistic about this Nikon mirrorless. I hope they won't screw it up like many times because honestly I think that they don't really have many more chances.

    • @a1m153
      @a1m153 Před 6 lety

      Blue Sky Photography
      Thank You for your fast and informativ response!
      Yes, the Sony adapter does not work as well as a native lense, because it has to "translate" other lense brands.
      But a Nikon adapter will work better, because it has to built the bridge between Nikon lenses and Nikon DSLM. That will work perfectly.
      In my opinion the difficulty could be the sensor. Putting autofocus points on a D850 sensor. Is it so easy? Remember the D850 sensor is made by Sony!
      The Nikon 1 system is discontinued and the Nikon Key Mission system obviously also. So Nikon can concentrate on DSLM.
      They will work it out! I AM SURE!

    I used a7III last week along with a7rIII and have to say ,if you have money put it in to a7rIII and some Zeiss prime. If Nikon came out with real pro body it will be probably better option than a7III. Sony a7III is basic step in model,with inferior view finder (Panasonic,Fuji ,Olympus and higher Sony model are superior w.r.t EVF), plastic rear panel and image quality is about mediocre at the best. Not to mention menu system (subjective if you coming from Leica and Fuji).I used both with G master 24-70 f2.8 and for that money lens is too expensive.

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  Před 6 lety +1

      eagleeye photo I would like a MF as well, the only small little issue is that I can't afford it. 😂😂😂 And let's not mention that my wife would file the divorce if she would find out that I want to spend 10 000 $ on camera and lenses 😭😭😭

    • @eagleeyephoto8715
      @eagleeyephoto8715 Před 6 lety

      Blue Sky Photography Fuji MF range finder if they release it should cost less than some of the FF options from Canikon and Sony. Looking to the lenses Iine up I tried 45mm f2.8 and 110 f2 as well some adapted MF glass (Mamya Sekor) and FF Nikon. You should rent and try . Delta between apsc vs FF is marginal when you compare it to the MF. Combine this with Fujifilm apsc system and you can skip FF all together.

    Nikon already scrapped two mirrorless models ( Nikon 1, DL series). They might fail on the third attempt. Even if Canon/ Nikon releases FF mirrorless, they don't have lens selection like Sony's. Their new mounts puts them at a disadvantage. Basically Canon/Nikon no longer has supremacy in the glass department nor mirrorless department.

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  Před 6 lety +1

      Soso Melodies yes it is true. Even if they release an awesome adapter, that's not going to be as good as the native glass. I don't know, but honestly I am really pessimistic about this.

    @town3 Před 6 lety

    It's so funny and a bit Hypocritical, What happen to all of the Nikon and Canon people that was saying adaptors are so bad and their trash because Sony users was using them lol or Sony don't have any Glass for the A7 & A9 mirrorless system, even now you hear the haters say that crap lol and now Nikon will have to do both on their mirrorless system lol either have little to no lenses natively in the beginning just like Sony or adapt to their DSLR lenses or third party lenses just like Sony. People will justify anything in their own mind lol. I'm just saying

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  Před 6 lety +1

      Michael Mystro Pierce I agree with you completely. That's why I say many times that Nikon is behind because Sony has gone through this "there is no lens" stage already, so now Nikon is going to be there. And I also agree that adapter is only an adapter. I used the Sony one and it was bad and the Nikon will be bad as well. I don't believe that it will work as good as the native glass.

    I think the rumor is 25MP Nikon mirrorless camera with 24-70mm f/4 will be priced around $3,000. People will only pay $3,000 for a 25MP body as long as it focuses as good as D5.

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  Před 6 lety

      Jack Wilson If it will be with the 24-70 f4 kit lens well than let`s say it`s kind of ok . But still Sony has a better option because the a7 iii and the Tamron 28-75 f2.8 is only 2800 $ . And honestly I don`t think that auto focus-vise the Nikon will be as good as the Sony . Hopefully it will be but in my opinion the chances are pretty small. What do you think?

    • @jackwillson579

      Jack Willson auto focus on full frame will be a lot more challenging than aps-c. Not only that how will Nikon match Sony's 300-600 auto focus points... phase detect and contrast detect? It will be interesting.

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  Před 6 lety +1

    Simply wait and see what comes out from Nikon (and Canon) as mirrorless fullframe. The first rumors are promising. And in case the native adapter guarantees a top notch autofocus performance then Sony can go home. Who wants this crappy build quality of the Sony A7 series? Who wants this crappy Sony customer service? Who wants to deal with this stupid pricing strategy of Sony? Who wants to deal with this lousy lens selection, especially in the long telephoto area? Sony is just good in two points and this is marketing and integration of consumer technologies (same strategy as for their Playstation line). But for serious applications...no, no...better no Sony.
