I have a Miele washing machine. They really are in my opinion the Rolls Royce of machines. The build quality of their whole range is outstanding. They are built like tanks and are very reliable. These are only for people who appreciate quality and reliability. That's why they are expensive but you get what you pay for. So, you are wrong. The Miele is not like any other machine. They're far superior! Miele, made in Germany and still a family owned business for more than 100 years.
Im really glad you tested the miele, at least I know my jeans will be well cleaned even if I forget to take my alternator out my pocket when I wash my clothes
+TheWfhg they create hype. believe me. there are tons and tons of bad reviews about miele washing machines. even 1 should happen considering the amount of cash you pay for them!
Having worked for Miele for 16 years (they pay my pension) and an owner of a range of Miele equipment inc DW,WM,TD, Freezer, and fridge freezer, vacuum cleaner, I am well aware of the strength and quality of design on their full range of machines, The chassis of the WM with shock absorbers has been well known in the trade for many years as capable of dealing with most weird and wonderful items being "washed" that may cause severe out of balance conditions without going into self destruct mode..
Ed, very enjoyable video. First good laugh I have had in a while. That machine knew where you were and what you had done to it. It was on the warpath! Hopefully it didn't have time to tell the other appliances in your yard what might be in for them! Or they may take preemptive evasive maneuvers. :-O
Ive done this a lot, but its better when you take off the door, speed it up to full then throw a heavy brick in. The sudden weight change will send the washing machine crazy! Do try it.
@Aussie50 Ed, have you tried an isolating transformer? 230v in the primary and 230v out the secondary. This means that it won't trip your RCD in your workshop. I would advise fitting an RCD after the secondary windings, this means you still have earth leakage protection but it won't take out your workshop, or computers ;)
I never bothered testing it either but it looked like a seal had been leaking for a while. sadly it got dumped at the scrappy and mangled before I could save it :( bloody tough machines tho! I would own one anyday!
That Miele did manage to balance the load a few times in the beginning. At least you had a "live" test of the emergency stop button initiated by the Washing Machine on death throw. Interesting that the machine wants to attack the operator. Great video anyway.
Indestructible!!! If it hadn't been for the drive belt climbing off ... I wouldn't be surprised if that machine simply would have kept on going until the smoke and flames started coming out of it. Proof of top quality German engineering!
my friend miele before you had already stressed tested your machine!!! so well built washing machines are not for to play with if you want to play choose those with plastic outer tubs!!! this one could be repaired i have repaired many miele!!! you have kept the scrap to wash your clothes and you destroyed the best one!!!!
Just need a new belt and your good to go. German quality built to last.On average Miele washers will run trouble free for 15 to 20 years unless you wash car parts in it. Thats why there about £1,000 when new, you get what you pay for.
nah, best way is just to make a bonfire out of the whole thing, fill the drum and casing with as much fuel as you can and light her up :D works well on top loaders too, since its only a aluminum drive boss that keeps the inner drum in.
So the washer took out the RCD? What happened to that whopping great transformer that you had, which you could put 240v into it & get 415 volts out? Putting that between the variac and the washing machine would isolate it from earth, right? Would the variac handle it OK? If so, then I'd do that, because then you wouldn't lose all of your power every time the cable gets chomped through. I know you used it in one vid with good results, but can't remember what vid that was now... :-) -BBD.
granted the view counter and likes have not been as high as I was hoping for a Miele kill video its doing alright, I need to be more innovative with the next one... this machine was not a loss tho, its drum unit went on to become the Miele Flamespin 3000 :D
Thanks Ed! Tats why I keep watching Death and destruction Cheers. p.s. My wife would let me do this in the yard so keep doing it for us. If you weren't on the other side of the earth I would get you a couple of machines
Miele make their own electronic boards unless thats changed just recently. Most Miele washers are made in Germany but some have been made in Czech Republic.
fair enough. oh hey i have a water pump from an old simpson is that good for anything? i just pulled it out cause they were scrapping it. and are you in victoria?
Hey there ed! That was a great video. Not heard of that make if washer before?!?. Is it a cheap style bottom range washer or top range washer?? What ever thow Funny as hell lol Thanx for sharing ed ;-) THUMBS UP*
drive 4 pieces of angle iron in the ground , one on each side of the washers , and let them run full speed , that should keep it still ...sort of , and keep the drum in the box till something very very bad happens ;)
That's something you don't see everyday... a trashed Miele! It didn't even look that old... I wonder what was really wrong with it! Anyway, it just need a new belt now :-P
Don't knock RCDs. The day you get a wallop (and you probably will) and it trips is the day it might have saved your life. I take it you know that they work by comparing current out (live) to current back (neutral)and trip if there's a 30mA or so difference. It's really simple. Live and Neutral just pass through a torroid and if the current is equal it cancels itself out. Any difference induces a field in the torroid that is detected by a sense coil.
awesome vid ed shame u cant do test like that with vacuum cleaners to see how mutch torture u can give them if there was a way id love to see avid of that
0:31 stop right there, fuck it up and take it back :) Win:win scenario I reckon. For both parties. You removed the plastic. Edit: should have fed it a flywheel from the get go lol

this is really cool - the physics, the engineering of the machine and even learning about possible hazards in future tests
My BEKO did that--without a flywheel and alternator and as a bonus--flooded the kitchen!
This proves how superior these machines are! Mieles are superior, just try doing that with any other washer.

Yawn
I love how it spat out the flywheel...
agreed!, engineering strength and physics are why I love doing this :D
bottom lefthand corner is the Miele stress-o-vibrometer...very handy for backyard stress testing...
Washing machine drums make great off the ground wood fire containers, all the holes let the fire oxygenate really well.
The washing machine is after you. But decided to attack the other washing machine instead & chuck a hissy fit as well.🤣😂😅
This guy seems like a nice dude to hang out whit except for if he starts breaking your washing machine whit a brick
Ye he was until he died 2 years ago:(

I love the sound of the motor, its like a jet engine :)
at 3:25 that washing machine tries to push your machine and it is LOL XD LOL XD
The attack of the killer washer. 😂
That was featured in an SML video
I never bothered testing it either but it looked like a seal had been leaking for a while. sadly it got dumped at the scrappy and mangled before I could save it :(
bloody tough machines tho! I would own one anyday!

Best thing about using the Variac is you can find the sweet spot for maximum resonance...
possibly. I don't think it was a dryer unit too.. I know dryers can build up a fair amount of static
it would have been totally epic if the car started getting pulled along for the ride
All it wanted to do was give you clean sox and you went and did THAT to it.
ps. my Miele W 1065 from 1987-ish is still going strong.
That's amazing ,I adore miele washer
And not letting it run across the back yard got me lol
what is that yellow piece in the bottom left corner?
what scrapyard did u get that from
Sir i love what you do please keep it up you make time being killed go by so much faster :D
Washer says: IM STILL STANDING
my friend miele before you had already stressed tested your machine!!! so well built washing machines are not for to play with if you want to play choose those with plastic outer tubs!!! this one could be repaired i have repaired many miele!!! you have kept the scrap to wash your clothes and you destroyed the best one!!!!

What brand of shredder is this?
This one put up a fight!!!
Nice Variac, high current's the word when you've got one of those lol
2:29 : IT TRIED TO SAVE ITSELF. AWESOME.
2:29
why did the motor rev right up near the end. I think you went to stop it after.
BEEN WAITING SO LONG FOR ONE OF THESE VIDS
3:04 OH HUMAN!! ....I'M COMING FOR YA NIGGA!!
Good video
You haven't don a video like this in a long time!
Das wäre ja absolut die beste Werbung für Miele
nah, best way is just to make a bonfire out of the whole thing, fill the drum and casing with as much fuel as you can and light her up :D

Destruction and fire videos get the most views I guess.
Sometimes it's just that simple to entertain people!
Good video Ed!
Look at the state of videos now. The young generation appreciates a video of an egg I saw once
Any abandoned washing machine that ends up at this guy's house is sure to be doomed
At 5:20 proper steam locomotive sound.
So the washer took out the RCD? What happened to that whopping great transformer that you had, which you could put 240v into it & get 415 volts out?

Stress tested? I'd say stress fractured
I'll bet Miele still thinks that they still make the most durable machines. lol
granted the view counter and likes have not been as high as I was hoping for a Miele kill video its doing alright, I need to be more innovative with the next one...
this machine was not a loss tho, its drum unit went on to become the Miele Flamespin 3000 :D
Wow

Have you seen how much them Miele motors are going for on ebay?
Nooo, can't do that to Miele's, definitely had it in for you.
How about a comparative motor burnout test side by side with another maker's motor?
2:25 - it's coming to get you!
You should leave it tethered to a post in your front yard like a chain-chomp from Mario ;-)
_NOW THAT'S A LOT OF DAMAGE_
Not sure if flex tape or Phil swift can fix this...
of course ed knows how rcd's work, and hes really careful as you can clearly see in his all vid's.
yep, this is the donor machine I got from the scrappie
Hey there ed!
That was a great video. Not heard of that make if washer before?!?. Is it a cheap style bottom range washer or top range washer?? What ever thow Funny as hell lol
Thanx for sharing ed ;-)
THUMBS UP*
wow I know now miele are strong!
they are really good machines!, I would have fixed this one if it was not already twisted up at the scrappie :(
i know where your coming from, I know whirlpool do not compare 100% but my machine is cracking me up! its completely broken now. only have it 2 weeks

Where is your manual instruction for this washing machine?
hey ed, u should try laying the next one on its back so the door is facing up and sequere it down maybe :) thanks for the video.
its comin for ya
Dude, you are seriously warped :)
What would happen if it was suspended from a chain from an a frame? Would be interesting....
drive 4 pieces of angle iron in the ground , one on each side of the washers , and let them run full speed , that should keep it still ...sort of , and keep the drum in the box till something very very bad happens ;)
I couldn't stop laughing when it was jumping around and going nuts lol
3:04 When you see your crush from a long way 😂
yay, first washer extremist to be offended :D.
Its just white goods :P
It was coming for you there! LOL!
so? all Miele brokes by themselves? i have never saw one like this broked by itslelf, they are pefect :D
I wanna do the same thing with my 13 years old washer!
lol good to hear your one of the civilized ones that's not out to murder me for doing this ;)
Aussie50 the washer from hell
I like miele washing machines
Same
sort of testing choice should do, that machine seems to have a brain of self preservation...thats scary
Make the motor go boom
newly picked from the scrap yard, it was trashed before I got it,
That's something you don't see everyday... a trashed Miele! It didn't even look that old... I wonder what was really wrong with it! Anyway, it just need a new belt now :-P

Cool. We got Clive !
Ahhhh so this is where it all started :D
If you really want a Miele washing machine it can be a novatronic.
cool keep it up mate
awesome vid ed shame u cant do test like that with vacuum cleaners to see how mutch torture u can give them if there was a way id love to see avid of that
more more more Washing Machine killing. Keep up the good work ED.
See what Aussie50 said :H
Its broke by itself!!!
Aussie 50 was the 2010s version of @dankpods
Its comin to git ya,ha ha ,it puked out the flywheel at first!

I enjoy watching videos of destroying machines even Beko, its only machine! So destroying Beko will be great :)
In this vid miele doesn't get stress
At 2:04, nein nein i shall not eat das fly wheel.
RE THE EMERGENCY STOP & TRAY: BOOM. -- HEADSHOT.
0:31 stop right there, fuck it up and take it back :)
Win:win scenario I reckon. For both parties. You removed the plastic.
Edit: should have fed it a flywheel from the get go lol
its the door latch emergency release.
