Luckily, the friendly police officer whom initially pulled me over (you know, the "Plaintiff" in attendance...whom just presented his claim against me) saved the day. The tinted window document. I've had the same issue. Litterally... at 3 am on Christmas eve. Like seriously? Officer said and I quote "I couldn't tell if you were a guy or a girl" lol never asked if I had weapons in the car in which I did.... had guns and bows n arrows. I was pissed. Relieved, because it puts the Magistrate Court Judge I met in Santa Fe, NM whom derogatorily referred to me as a "Constitutionalist," upon my attempt to explain the error of a traffic stop, in perspective. Certainly, I was not in control of a self-propelled vehicle receiving electricity from an overhead wire and thusly not a "Driver" in need of a "Driver's License." [Chapter 66, NMSA] That is, of course, unless I was conducting commerce, wherein the vehicle I was operating (one with a "combustion engine" [Chapter 65, NMSA]), is described and is implied to be licensed for. I was charged under Chapter 66.
Well, the judge whom I saw after the "Constitutionalist" judge tried to jail me as I presented my defense. The judge objected vociferously [yeah...the judge...not the officer] and threatened me with jail. Luckily, the friendly police officer whom initially pulled me over (you know, the "Plaintiff" in attendance...whom just presented his claim against me) saved the day. Otherwise, my newly arrived, twin babies whom were accompanying me to the courthouse would've been out of my possession (likely following a scuffle of sorts...because you're trying to take my children from me for abiding by the Motor Vehicle Statutes which I didn't create) as I sat in a holding cell at the courthouse...for knowing the Statutes.
So, yes, I am relieved to know that I'm not so unlucky as to be the only victim of one of the greatest paradoxes known to First World interactions with public servants... It's like seeing your memtest finish with errors: you're no more happy about having to fix the machine...just relieved to see that you're not the worst Software Package decider in the world...as your computer software initially seemed to suggest.
