My friend built one, standard engine 3L with large turbo (gtx35) and big intercooler, running 40psi boost, it was very fast, but you had to watch the egt guage very closely as it was ok when accelerating egt at 450., but when cruising on the freeway the guage would shoot up fast past 500 degrees celsius, had to run 4th gear to keep egt down. In 5th it went up too fast under cruising. Too much fuel for cruise driving when off boost. The engine already had 300,000km when boosted and lasted till 500,000 with the big turbo. It was still not blown up, but was due for rebuild, so he sold the vehicle and got a landcruiser
@@cortransport i dont think the pressure itself plays much of a part overall, gotta remember the explosion when te fuel ignites is far higher pressure than anything forced induction can provide, its just heat and timing management really that plays the biggest part
Yeah the heat plays the main role. I drive the hilux under 75mph because after 75 the temp goes up.. and it was after I turbo it and only set at 7psi 😅.

@@cortransport Aquí hay muchas toyotas, de hecho más baratas en algunos casos que allá en USA, la Hilux que quiero comprar es una del año 2000 y está aquí en 8000 USD, en buenas condiciones, solo que he tenido el dilema del turbo y no sé si sea bueno o qué, la utilizaré para trabajo y monteo.
@@cortransport en la parte frontal detrás de la defensa creo que debe haber espacio para montar uno, como ejemplo MISHIMOTO Z-LINE Mide 2.5 pulgadas de espesor, solo que tendrías que agregar tuberías.

@@cortransport ya veo, mi modelo es del 2002 como cambia el diseño frontal de defensa y parrilla me da más espacio, si tengo la oportunidad de ver uno como el modelo que tienes, le hechare un ojo para ver donde podría ir sin modificar
Hello, Yes its set at factory setting. I was advice to leave it as is.. it already pushes fuel enough for ac20 turbo. More fuel means more heat and more heat ruins the engine. So left the pump at factory setting.

Hola Milton, Si se nota la diferencia pero no es algo extremo. Especialmente si se deja en presión del turbo baja; que es lo recomendado. El turbo es solo para compensar la mezcla de aire con el combustible que inyecta el system de fabrica. En la economía es lo mismo.. también depende como se maneja.
😆 no its not broken. Just a little oil spill on valve covers. Fixed it. And kept turbo boost at 7 psi. I like those tacomas too. I had a 99 4x4 with the 4 cylinder engine. Hard to find those.
Hola Renato, Las partes para esos motores se compran desde otro países. Son raro los lugares donde vende estas partes en USA. Solo un alternador pude comprar en sur Carolina. La mayoría de partes las traigo de Australia.
I have left mine at 7psi or so.. don’t need too much for those engines.. just enough since it has some good fuel flow as well. 10.5 don’t sound too much tho.. let me know how it turns out in a while.. I have had mine at that setting for more than a year now.. and haven’t had issues.
@@cortransport mine also no issue so far..just getting more power when uphill and overtaking..hihihi.. But it became fuel drinker afterward..i can say my rig consume 13L/100km after bolt on turbo running at 10.5psi boost..
Have you got an Intercooler on it? I am working on putting one on mine… For better performance. These rigs won’t save a whole lot on fuel; however we get compensated on power.

My semi truck is set at 45psi and I think that’s too much 😅. Imagine 40 on a small engine 😂. I guess anything is posible with these Toyota engines.

Entonces si se le puede poner un turbo pero no pasarlo de las 7psi?

Que tal amigo saludos, te recomiendo un enfriador o intercooler para bajar la temperatura en el intake y notaras una gran diferencia.

Is the diesel pump is still set at factory settings? Or have you changed something on the diesel pump

Dele con todo.. mejora la potencia y durabilidad del motor. Con presiones bajas del turbo por su puesto. Solo necesita una ayudadita.

Mine was 10.5psi now.. running good..but im not sure is it safe boost or its over?
