This season Saka's had to carry Arsenal while injured. That's the issue, last season he wasn't the goalscorer but this season he's been required to be the goalscorer. He has no freedom anymore. He's not a natural goalscorer Saka, he's a 15-20 goal and 15-20 assists a season player, he's a very good player but he's never going to hit those Mo Salah numbers, be the wide striker. It's unfair to over rely on him.
Also I don't care what anyone says 34 G/A for a title challenging team with 6 games left is good. Especially when "world class season" Foden has 32 G/A. I think Bellingham has 31 G/A. Saka's had a good season, statistically his numbers have improved in every area.
The eye test is lying, Saka doesn't look as electric and explosive as last season but he's scoring/assisting more, he's passing, creating, completing more dribbles, winning more duels, shooting more, etc.
Vinicius was shocking, Foden was shocking, Haaland was terrible, Kane wasn't great, even Bellingham looked slightly off it at times. My point is, yes as Arsenal fans we want better standards and Saka had a poor game but we need help for him. It's a team sport and he's been our one man army up front this season. Ødegaard not scoring or assisting at the rate of last season, same with Martinelli and Jesus. Trossard has probably been our 2nd best attacker this season but he's a squad player for a reason. We need Martinelli to step up, he's a fantastic talent who's been completely useless this season, maybe that's inconsistent playing time due to injuries but it's not enough. I don't think we need a striker, I think we need a goalscorer.
