- Garfield Video Games exist. From the NES all the way to the Switch and PS4, there is no escaping Garfield and Friends on their bitcoin mining adventures. Austin takes a look at over 30 years of Cursed Garfield Video Games. That's right, I talk about every single retail release. Help.

#Garfield
#Lasagnyaa
#JimDavis - Hry
Fun fact about the PS2 game, Garfield's one-liners are actually only present on the English version. If you choose any other language, they will just show up as text which goes to show how much they cared
Laziness just like garfield
“Y’know there’s two video games where you control a character that uses a handy-vac as their primary tool”
Clearly you forgot about Blinx: The Time Sweeper. Also a cat funnily enough
not to mention one of the gadgets that Robin uses in the Lego Batman / Lego DC games is basically a handy-vac that sucks up Lego pieces.
Batman gets all the cool gadget suits and Robin gets magnet shoes, a handy-vac and a giant hamster ball.
Also . . . . Tumblepop? . . . Anyone?
6:19 Garfield x Oddie is officially canon now.
Finally.
Not the weirdest thing I've seen on the internet.
Fun Fact: Jim Davis, the Creator of Garfield, helped out a bit with Sega in the Garfield Caught in the Act Video game.
I think I heard he did all the art for Garfield's animations for the game. It's probably why he looks so accurate to the comic.
Fun fact, before Jim Davis wrote Garfield, he wrote this comic strip about an ant. Everyone told him it was so unfunny that he ended the strip by having the ant squished.
Salsa Seth is was Gnat and ending was lie made up by Davis
Gnorm Gnat was not squished. Fake gnews
Salsa Seth i don’t 100% know maybe it was plan but some What a Guy talk to Jim and say no jim you can not do that
Quinton Reviews made a video on it. And he found some of the comic pages that like no one knew existed.
Gnorm Gnat wasn't an ANT he was a GNAT fake fans >:c
Following the "domain" he bought leads back to his YT page. Good job Eruptionman.
typed in the website, hit go.... well played austin
I half expected this to be a joke.
I’m so glad someone tried this because there was no way I was typing that URL.
I thought it would just be a "page not found" but I was glad he actually did it.
Thanks for biting the bullet. Just don't forget to wipe your search history later...
"Why is Garfield popular?"
He's a mood.
Precisely, Holmes. Mystery solved. 😁
Why is sherlock Holm popular
yes
6:25 It was changed due to Capcom having exclusive Disney rights for the Nintendo platforms in the US until 1993-4 so no other company could release Disney games in the US
Can't wait for the follow up video all about the weird and bizarre horror Garfield fangames.
"He probably won't mention the ancient comic maker I played on the Apple II." 2:53 "Neat!"
Darn, I was hoping you'd spotlight that point-and-click Flash game where you can find Lyman's severed head!
There was also one where you gave Garfield coffee and it ended with him exploding while giving him a caffeine addiction
@@crackerjack0349 Eh, unless it ends with Garfield tearfully belting out "I'm so excited! I'm so excited! I'm so scared!", it doesn't seem as interesting as Odie's previous owner being decapitated.
Finally someone giving some love to Garfield Caught in the Act.
"Step-garfield??"
That "Garfield & Friends" show was on tv way into the 90s as reruns, so that's why he got a Genesis game. He was also all over school stuff so you really couldn't escape him lmao
I actually remember watching and liking the show, won't lie
2004 Garfield was released on PC here in Czech Republic, dubbed with all local Garfield voice actors, especially Vladimír Čech for Garfield... which was a saving grace for this game, for local critics and people, including me :3 I still got the CD!
Also... the PC version has A LOT of unused sound clips and data based on RenderWare... it could've been much more than a vaccuuming collectathon. And with much more plentiful and more brutal one-liners. Still, I don't regret my kiddom being spent on this game. It was the only game that didn't require me to insert the CD... I was forbidden to search in my dad's forbidden CD collection when I was 6 :P
Neat job reviewing it all. Thank you, Austin, for feeding us, past Garfield fans, with your opinion :3
You forgot about garfield scary scavenger hunt and it’s sequel, this is the best game ever made
I was BIG into Garfield as a kid. I got the DS version of Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties for my birthday and completed it 100%. Twice. And yo, does anyone remember that Garfield browser game with the haunted house? I spent hours on that thing! And that one site with all those Garfield-branded classic board games? I think I've seen someone make a video on the browser games before... if it was you, Austin, I had a major brain fart.
I had one of the Garfield board games when I was a kid.
Yes! I remember those browser games especially the haunted house one! Glad to know I didn't make that website up.
Let's discuss the high level good taste Austin is displaying with that Makoto Niijima shirt.
The domain actually leads to his YT channel. Genius!
Was that a picture of Garfield next to the text "Neon Genesis Evangelion"?!
I own a shirt that's just that.
I've seen shirts, coffee mugs, and other merchandise with that and I have no idea what's up with that
Get in the robot Garfield.
I hate mondays , but I sure do love Tuesdays.
Pretzel days. I like pretzel days.
czcams.com/video/BLUkgRAy_Vo/video.html
czcams.com/video/jTwu2XYZHdw/video.html
Must be a Thursday...
Garfield and Friends in definitely the best part of the Garfield cannon though, especially the barnyard shorts
10:16 Austin forgot about/doesn't know Blinx :(
And Piposaru 2001. The ps2 era was the vaccum era.
Garfield really sounding like Neil Breen in that Luigi's Mansion vacuum knockoff.... or maybe the other way around.
Pure breenius.
They couldn't get the original voice actor (Lorenzo Music) from the shows; he died some time ago.
Garfield, a tale of 2 kitties also had a DS port that actually was released in the US
This has haunted me for 4 years. 4 long years.
As I mention at the end of the video, I'll be running a marathon Charity Stream on the 18th of July in support of EqualityNow! More details will be coming soon, but you can follow me on twitch to watch the stream.

EDIT - So the shirt that I show on screen at 1:20 is actually by an artist called Little Tunny! You can check out their art here!

@MultiTarded It's almost like the majority of human beings just, ya know, care about the wellbeing and rights of other people. Crazy, right? And not sure what equality has to do with politics...
@MultiTarded lol
Ayyyy, Garfield Caught in the Act! That game's a baller with a great soundtrack. I remember reading a long time ago how Garfield's sprites were hand-drawn by real animators before being meticulously converted to pixel art and that always seemed like the coolest shit to me as a kid.
Glad you didn't talk about the Sega CD port, though. It's, uh... not good.
"As a rat starts strafing" is one of the funniest things I've ever heard in my life and I cant fully explain why
4:36 So about that picture. This was a bluescreen made by my brother H. R. Hofman a.k.a F11keyboard so if you want to know who made it just credit him because we are so excited over this bump. Great video btw.
22:42 This is the part when Austin describes adulthood.
Why is it a good portion of these Garfield games aren't released in North America , seems pretty odd.
Maybe the license fees are higher in the US? Or if you have a more popular one at the time why not just reskin it and cash in on both.
Maybe Europe loves Garfield
The Garfield restaurant wasn’t in the US either
There was a haunted house themed Garfield flash game on Friv which I remember fondly. I used to play it at school a long time ago
I don't think I've ever been this premature.
I’m leaving this one alone! ;)
Jim Davis didn't design Garfield to be funny, he was designed to be relatable. He never relies on language puns or anything that wouldn't translate to another language well. There's a whole fascinating video over on "today I found out." I also highly recommend the Ronald McDonald video over there. You can't make that stuff up.
15:48 They DID release Remastered which has no install limit, so at least there's some kinda workaround
but Remastered also has a ton of glitches that ruin the graphics and atmosphere of the game plus they took out the EAX 4.0 ambient sound.
The original btw was fixed to have no install limits. I believe they removed SecuROM (or whatever they were using) when that "anti-tamper" software was becoming obsolete.
There are only blessed Garfield games
I would have expected garfieldporn.com to contain footage of Garfield caught in the act.
The jump in graphical quality was insane! Went from a pixely mess to actually looking like Garfield. Great video.
Are you trying to tell me the best looking Genesis game was a freaking Garfield game??
I'm just really glad Austin made a nod to the H.P. lovecraft Garfield stuff that was going on, it's weirdly creative
7:18 Garfield Art Online is my favorite isekai anime
I recently played the PS2 Garfield game for my channel and MY GOD. The back of the box looked okay. I thought I was getting a bland 3D platformer maybe... I was wrong. When that background music kicked in in your video I think I experienced some kind of PTSD.
21:00this somehow makes me uncomfortable
The most Garfield thing you could do, release this video the day after Monday cus you hate Mondays xD
just one sentence for Garfield Kart? It has Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam, and for good reason. Also, it has a sequel that's actually kinda good!
I had Caught in the Act on the PC. I remember it took me awhile to beat when I was 7 or 8, but I enjoyed it a lot. The bizarre glitch monster was one of my favorite parts just for how left-field it was XD
The first game I ever completed was Garfields nightmare, i used to love that game. I played through it 2-3 times
I used to have a copy of the Garfield cleaning game that wouldn't load properly so I couldn't get into the first door, and to my little child mind, used to a very limited games library and replaying every game a bunch of times, this Garfield ass game was a great shame. So after years of waking in the night screaming, I can't for the life of me say why but the lord granted me this one thing and my copy of Garfield was magically repaired. I can't begin to describe the visceral pleasure of getting a key and unlocking a new room after spending years running around that kitchen to the theme song of purgatory, hiding from that soulless 4th-dimensional dog being, knowing that I could spend infinity sucking up items and opening drawers and finding puzzle pieces, but my unavoidable fate of that loading screen would still be waiting. Anyway that game is shit but I have some deep long hidden emotion to process.
I love how poetic & darkly-comical you put the last half.Talking about, "The visceral pleasure of getting a key and unlocking a new room after spending years running around that kitchen to the theme song of Purgatory" &,really, all the other words /after that/,thru,"still be waiting". That whole section was quite funny. Also, when you said that the game caused U to wake "in the night screaming",for years. Picturing that, made it funny. Considering, that it's over a damaged-portion of the disc & the result, that caused that... xD
Truly funny,yet poetic. Like I 1st said. Glad U posted this,VERY worthwhile 2 read! :D
-Peace :)
Fun fact: Garfield is actually dying of starvation and is hallucinating the entire series. Read Garfield: halloween 1989
Holy shit!
Oh I hope that's true. That would be a level of meta I wouldn't think Jim Davis was capable of.
@@JohnDoe-wq5eu holy crap... 😨
Garfield: Lasagna World Tour was my first video game cuz I grew up in the Great Recession and they were selling PS2s for cheap at my local GameStop back when this game was brand new. It was so disappointing that we returned it and got Crash of the Titans, my introduction to the Crash Bandicoot series
Hey at 1:21 - the artist's name is Little Tunny (@itslittletunny via Twitter) they're an awesome artist and you should totally check them out :D
Was not expecting to see Little Tunnie's "Barf" shift today, but, here we are
Two videos in and I subbed. Entertaining and well done.
Austin once again highlighting his exquisite taste in Persona waifus
Really love this video.
Covering topics no one would.
so glad that you not only showed the bart to garfield animorph, but you credited littletunny as well!!! :)
Him Garfield caught in the act was like sword art online
Me:*SREAMS IN PERSONA 4*
5:33 so a game where you play as The Ghostbuster that had the Same VA as Garfield which later the Actor playing that role in the Movies also Played Garfield.
15:22 Ashens's secret cameo as The Narrator. The more you know... 😉
20:56 Ironically enough, this is the exact type of thing that got routinely shat on by the Garfield & Friends cartoon.
glad to see your newer content on my feed again with your hair as puffy as always
Whoa whoa whoa Austin those live action scooby doo movies are amazing leave them out of this 😂😂 also I’d love to see a video about all their games too
This makes me remember that one random flash-based point-'n-click Garfield game that I used to play all the time back in the day.
I have no idea if it actually holds up, but I remember loving it.
The Halloween one? Still awesome
Garfield is love
Garfield is Life
Garfield Demands human sacrifice
I had Mad About Cats for PC as a kid and I adored it. It's super simple, a mini game "collection" (there's like 3?) with world food and wild cat trivia, but its a good distraction for a kid. If you wanna learn about African sand cats and then play a breakout clone, it's your game
I used to be OBSESSED with Lasagna Cat as a kid, comic compilations, little stuffed animals with suckers on the hands and feet you name it I had it. I regret nothing.
As someone named John, most Garfield videos are very unnerving.
I actually love the art of Garfield Caught In The Act, it's a perfect blend of Original Art and the Genisis' limitations
The Bioshock activation server is no longer online so you CANNOT install the game normally anymore if you have the disc version. I know because I tried to reinstall it last year and had to download a cracked EXE to make it work.
I’m so glad I only discovered you now, because I’ve been able to BINGE watch all episodes. Gonna be sad when I run out…
Pretty neat! Thanks for uploading!
When I was a kid growing up in the early-mid 2000s, I had a GBA SP. I had Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Super Mario World, and Castlevania: COTM, but no other big-name games, really. My decent-sized collection of licensed shovelware included Garfield and His 9 Lives (and Cartoon Network Racing, funny enough) and...yeah. As a kid, anyway, it was pretty solid. Looking back, it’s more of a crapshoot-some levels are really bland compared to others, but the one thing worth mentioning is the music. For whatever reason, the Up A Tree stage song is almost too good for the game it’s used in, and for years was the only thing I remembered from the game until I finally got nostalgic enough to do some digging. It’s a relief to see how lucky I was to get one of the only okay installments in this ill-fated franchise.
"Professor Garfield" was my SHIT back in elementary school--it was a flash-based edutainment website in the early-to-mid 2000s and I fucking LIVED for it. The teacher would come in like "We're going to the Computer Lab" and I was like "FUCK YES!" Except I didn't say that because I was like, 6. Anyway, you talking about the Edutainment games at the start there brought that memory from the depths.
5:28 "Tiger Electronics handheld game"
> It's clearly and prominently branded "KONAMI"
Yeah, this checks out.
Yeah but unlike the Minions, Garfield doesn’t make me want to rip my own head off and kick it around the place like a soccer ball.
I spent many, many hours with Garfield comic book maker. It was very fun.
Ah, a video about Cursed Garfield games. This type of content is what I subscribe for!
10/10 would Garfield again😩
'Garfield without Garfield' is way funnier than Garfield.
I had that Mad about Cats PC game as a kid. I don't know why but I was like, really into Garfield when I was like 8 years old.
Also wow I'm in the chat at 23:42 so it proves I was also a witness to this atrocity.
Garfield Saving Arlene & Lasagna World Tour might be bit on the crappier side, but I unironically love the sh*t out of those games.
Garfield scary scavenger Hunt 1 & 2 are more fun to play than they have any right to be too.
"Garfield search in the play store"... New favorite thing to waste my time! You sir, are a saint.. or something else entirely.
Wait, THAT is Garfield's original voice?!? WHAT THE HELL. I grew up with the Latin dub for Garfield and friends and he has a smooth voice that makes him a lot more likeable haha.
PD: That frame of Garfield caught in act also scared the shit out of me when I was 6. I cried because I was trapped in the TV with that robot thing. It gave eternal anxiety for any game where you're trapped with some kind of predator :D
Fun fact: The developers of Lasagne World Tour made Charlie’s Angles on GameCube.
I remember this one Garfield game on Sega Genesis in which you started inside a television.
I remember that game because that was my first experience with a rage quit. It was so hard it made me think about punching my Tv for the first time ever...
I looked up Garfield on the App Store, and the first one I found was a runner (seems like the antithesis of Garfield). It also had an advertisement blurb that read “Explore stunning Mine Hole”. So,
I love that Billiam is reviweing videogames!!
actually there's another game that uses the vacuum mechanic that I think was pretty good! and that was Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Wererabbit for PS2, I love that game
I got one of those Walmart CD game thingies as a child. All I remember is one minigame, where Garfield collected chocolate eggs from a hen in a factory. Or so. It was one of the strangest games I ever played. And the hardest. i never managed to learn the controls.
You should talk about the garfield scary scavenger hunt flash games. One of them has Lyman chained up in the basement of the haunted house. Very cursed.
3:36 LOL, don't hate the player, hate the game. That's mad speed run strats right there.
Edit: I have never noticed that Arlene has like 80 extra vertebraes in her neck, what is that?
The Garfield Show is an underrated classic.
Not the 2D one, as in the amazing 3D one with the banger theme song.
9:55.........is that Fred from scooby doo???
Btw always love the videos Austin, keep up the awesome work my dude
I completely forgot I owned the Garfield 2 game, it all came back when you played the music.
Just to point it out, Bill Murray was contractually obligated to be in the sequel, which is why he was in A Tale of Two Kitties. Fortunately for him the movie didn't do as well as the previous one, so he was free from having to do a third one.
9:38 - I had 2 copies of this game for PC as a child. I am sure I still have one of them somewhere. I played it a lot cause it was my only Garfield game. It wasn't beatable tho. Every time it crushed at the attic minigame. Every. Frickin'. Time. So I bought another copy thinking mine was broken. But no - it also crushed. Recently downloaded a version from abandonware thinking I will finially be able to finish the game. Guess what? It crashed at the attic minigame. Idk if this is only a problem with a PC version, but it was really frustrating.
Watch your back, you're muscling in on the Quint's turf. He's the Don of the Garfield world. Be warned
I played the crap out of Garfield Nightmare back in the day, that game was so hard tho...
Also love the scruffy look
I grew up watching the original airing of Garfield and Friends and the Garfield TV specials so I'm a long time fan of the series. Although I never played any of the video games.
I used to have Lost in the Act for the game gear and I remember liking it.
Also
GREEEEEN DOOOOG
If I recall, Garfield only has seven lives because he has already lost two of them in the story.
I actually did have the Garfield vacuum game (could still have it somewhere) and I remember it being pretty fun, even if I couldn't finish it for some reason.
