  • Here is how to replace the headlights on a 88-98 Chevrolet truck. In this video I replace the headlight and turn signal housings on my Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. This is an easy job to do. If you just want to change the headlight bulb on your truck, just take out the two top bolts and pull the headlight forward. To replace the headlight and turn signal housings, you need to remove the grill to get to the headlights. It is an easy job to replace the headlight bulbs and housings on an old Chevy or GMC truck from General Motors. In this video, I show you how to remove and replace the grill on a Chevrolet truck as well. Here is where you can buy a set of replacement headlights for your truck:

Thank god for youtube. I remember when i was a kid there was no youtube you could go watch a video that shows you how to do things. People sharing their knowledge with other people is awesome. I came to see how to change my headlight light bulb i though it was done from behind and it would be fast an easy but i looked back there and i couldnt see the bulb wires the horn was behind that head light. I assumed i had to take all that grill off i thought those metal things you said to take off to change the bulb were for adjusting the headlight i had no idea those came off and the headlight would come out. Thank you my friend you just saved me from doing alot of unnecessary work

The grill clips on the lower right and left were somehow fused to the grill - broke one trying to get it out. Not as easy as the video shows. On the other hand, the clip in the middle was a piece of cake with the tip of using the long screw driver. All in all a great video that allowed me to get the job done quickly.

I have a 96 tahoe and did the led swap for my main lights and now they flicker when the switch is in the off position and the ebrake is released. if the ebrake is applied they will cut off. if the lights are turned on "third position" they work fine. If the parking lights are on "second position" and the ebrake released they flicker. Any recommendations

Omg your f****** awesome. You explained everything simple and actually gave visuals that you can see and comprehend. Do you know how many videos are out there about this andbthey don't even make mention of which bulb is being used to replace? Or are in some dark garage with a scrappy cell phone camera shooting I to a dark engine that seems like the phone has been taped to a drunk toddlers head as wobbles and shakes and eventually slams into something. Or they cut to some wierd angel and you spend more time trying to figure out if they're under the truck or under the hood. It's bananas. I thank you sir and my 97 siverado thanks you and you should get the youtube Nobel Peace Prize for your outstanding ability to be a normal, logical, intelligent human being. I know it probably doesn't seem to be an amazing standard but now a days people like you are the last of the Mohicans. Are there any replacement pods/LED for this age?

I bet somebody does make one that just plugs right in. I didn’t even think about that when I did this. There are definitely LED taillights sets you can buy.

I have a '95 and am thinking of doing something bodacious and wild... Thinking about backdating the grille and headlights to the 1988-89 style... Thoughts??

I bet you could do that easily. The body style is the same, so I bet the mounting points are as well.

Just curious on how well these held up over the last 3 years, I'm worried about how good they'll look in the long term

They still look like new, and I keep my truck outside all year round.

Not very well. One of them broke, and I threw the other one away. I went back to normal lights.
