Dembele was trying to do too much and ended up slowing the attack and if you give inter a second to regroup they will erect their wall again. We were too slow. All I could think, in all honesty - if only Messi was there.I still have the hope. Messi's goalscoring capability is not necessarily what we are in need of. Couple points:
    - Raphinha was absolutely isolated on the left side, didn’t receive the ball high up the pitch thus no crosses, you either start him on the right side on put him in the bench, ferran creates more chances on the left.
    - Our style of play doesn’t benefit from players who always pass the ball back when under pressure (gavi, kessie)
    - defenders have to pass to strikers, whom would pass it back to midfielders and run towards the goal, we can’t always have this slow predictable build up.

    8:37
Apart from not being an elite creator, Roberto could have taken better advantage of being in that position but Gavi never attacked the half space by making runs and he (Roberto) was conservative with his passes.
There was a situation in the game when Lewandowski was in the half space and Roberto could have released him with a through ball but he decided to pass to Dembélé who was always going to be double teamed. He did not overlap to support Dembele and there was hardly ever any dynamism in his game. The same could be said of the entire team on Tuesday.
Xavi's tactics was not a failure but it was marred by too much rigidity and his setup. Raphinha for one was never comfortable on the left wing talk more of playing him as an advanced 8.
Alonso was too deep and static, the midfielders never took shots on goal and so on.
It's going to be a thriller next week when we're likely going to see Inter defend with 10 men and an injury stricken Barca with 80% of the ball at the Camp Nou.

Develop their dribbling abilities even more - Absolute rubbish...Dembele is arguably one of the best dribblers in the world and you need to see Raphina Leeds Utd highlights. Their dribbling is already at the top level. And just a reminder, you're facing Inter Milan and not Viktoria Plzeň where 'better' dribbling wouldn't have led to a breakthrough.
Long shots should be more attempted - Yea sure even though the Inter defenders weren't giving them much space to shoot.
Better counter-pressing - We did counter press but we also saw how dangerous Inter were on the counter (numerous times) so that would've been a bad tactic especially if you're a goal down at an away game.
More accurate crosses - to whom? Lewa was tightly marked by about three Inter defenders the entire game. They were expecting Dembele to do the crossing (to aim for Lewa) which he did and all they had to do was wait and clear.

What I saw from the match is basically 2 key factors
    1) Dembele is overrated, highly overrated
    2) Mourinho famously claimed that just because you have possession, it doesn't mean anything unless you can take advantage of it. Mourinho during his Inter days proved that it's how you use the possession you have that makes you dangerous, not possession it's self. Inter was great at reading Barcelonas game and took advantage of the 30% possession it had to the fullest. When Barcelona had the possession, Inter let the come high and forced them to mistakes, which by that time did a quick counter and within a few seconds were at Barcelonas goalpost.
It turns out that Simone Inzaghi was better prepared, showing his maturity as a coach and understanding of the opponent. If he continues this type of mentality, he can make Inter successful again.

Xavi is young and still learning, but we should also say that about the team. If you look back at Pep's Barça, they would always know where each other is without looking, that means they would progress the ball quicker with smart 1-2s while also having the courage to take on 1v1s. Raphinha and Dembele had a bad game, but later on in the season they will adapt and be more incisive, I'm sure.

In this form of football so called the tiki taka there need to be a player who have the sense of putting on through balls and vehind the ball defence and a player who smells all the passes and make the through run
And barca without messi is still crap
The most difficult formation to break is 442 ,352 and 532 and in tiki taka once the wing is overloaded due to back 5 the ball will not be creative
Messi was a sublime dribbler so he had the edge but this barca team needs a player who can break the defence with passes like that of messi neymar coutinho kbd thomas muller luka modric and in young players jamal musiala is the one
And the starting should also be changed for barca to win they sold all of their tv right to play that crap🤡🤣

Why start Gavi, he should be a sub at best? This loss was on Xavi - his tactics and choice of players is extrememly falwed, he is good enough to beat small teams but when he comes up against good managers he is exposed dispite him having a far better team.

Just find Dembele or Alonso who is SHIT and just spam crosses and Gavi being higher is pointless cuz Dembele won’t make any runs behind the defense or at least help Lewa. Raphinha on LW doesn’t work. Also, if Gavi is higher, Pedri was good but he needs to go in the box more often. Xavi needs to change this maybe Kessie over Gavi next game and our injured players need to come back asap

Impossible to use wingers against a 5-line defense and no help from your team. Why not trying Dembele and Raphinha playing at the same side for a while? They have pace and skill to make associations, 1-2 plays and open space for shoot or cross. Sergi Roberto is useless, so having him as a guy with freedom means nothing for Barça. The midfield was dominated by the Inter's physical midfield, and we see in these situations when a 34yo guy like Busquets makes things much slower and weak in that area. Well done by Inter, well done by you again! Cheers!
