Tactical gymnastics?
Robbery. As a Chelsea fan, it is disgraceful from Anthony Taylor and VAR. We need to ban Anthony Taylor from Chelsea games. Otherwise, I loved the way that Chelsea perfromed. COYB
We were robbed
Robbed
Mount and Jorginho had a good game
Tuchelâs hybrid 4-2-2-2/3-4-3 overloaded Conteâs midfield two. Conte then mirrored Tuchelâs on-ball shape with 4-4-2 & created the same midfield overloads that Chelsea caused them. Then Tuchel flipped to a standard 3-4-3 to bring more width vs Spursâ back 4.Unreal tactical battle. đ„

James man-marking Son for most of the game isn't talked about enough, managed to keep him relatively quiet this game. And when James moved to RWB, he showed his attacking quality, putting some dangerous crosses and even scored a goal.
Tuchel has done this to Conte 4 times now. Thought Conte would have adapted
Yeah the bus changed to a truck now..!
Chelsea players are still better individually
I found that the Chelsea attacking players werenât as assertive as they have shown they previously can be (Havertz had the cross had less pace to it wouldâve probably scored) (Sterling who really only ran at the defenders once resulting in a shot blazed high) (Mount who is usually a very good finisher from around the box was uncharacteristically wayward

@@alanmathew2187 a truck scoring two goals đ€
Salient points observed:
1. Chelsea's midfield was so good that I didn't notice Bentacur until he tackled Havertz (he got the ball before getting Havertz).
2. Tuchel is a terrific tactician, as he knew Son and not Kane is the real threat.
3. Reece James became Son's shadow for his team and did a great job.
4. It was surprising to see Chelsea delivering such high quality crosses AFTER Lukaku left!
5. Tottenham new signings seem to be their gamechanger this season.
On point 4 bro, I agree with you so much, we seem more fluid without lukaku
Kane still scores though. It was awful defending on that final corner, quite a shame since Tuchel has everything else figured out
lukaku had the honor of playing with alonso, who isn't a good crosser
On pt no. 5, sorry n just keep dreamingâŠ.coz not all ref gonna favor the game for Tote throughout the season
@@ma-cg1il crossing is probably one good aspect from his game lol therefore why Xavi wanted him. heÂŽs great at attacking just lacks defensive awareness
Im a liverpool fan but I think tuchel in terms of making plans game by game is insane as a manager... Klopp and pep have a philosophy that doesnt change and is super hard to beat on the other hand tuchel has no set style of play and much like Potter for brighton he changes every game which is very impressive but too pragmatic at times.... Pep and klopps systems work against any type of team its so impressive but to be able to adapt every game with different systems is credit to tuchel but also credit to the players to carry it out
You know the game đđż The truth is the best managers create a/or system(s) that are so dominant that they donât have to react to the opponent, i.e (Pep & Klopp) as u mentioned & even though Tuchel can be very good tactically at times the lack of an identity on a consistent basis does a lot more harm than good imo based not only on what we see on the pitch but also as it relates to recruitment/transfers & a long term vision for the team!

Amazing how the EPL is becoming/has became the most interesting league for tactical analysis. Huge difference with how teams used to play 10 years ago
Only an 8 for Tuchel seems harsh. I thought he out coached Conte for large periods of the match.
That's fair, what would you have given him?
@@FootballMadeSimple 8.5 or 9 I reckon. Though, I think what's perhaps even more important is the difference between him and Conte. Separating them with 0.5 points is too little for me. I would give Tuchel 8.5 and Conte a standard 6. Without the ref, this match only has one winner. Let me add, love your content! Keep up the good work.
@@JoeyKneecap Definitely agree
It was a tactical masterclass. TOT had to revert from their traditional style i.e, wingers spreading the pitch coz they were facing an oppn with a similar structure countering & negating the tactics of Spurs..
As a spurs fan, it was clear that Chelsea was better. That being said, on a head to head basis compared to last season we are already 1 point ahead of last season. Taking in the Southampton games too (last season we drew and lost) we are now 3 points ahead overall. Iâll take that.
Im a strong believer of it doesnt matter who was playing better. I dont care if Chelsea were better. We have played such beautiful football under Poch but always capitulated and lost to these teams. Now we come out with a point. Thats all that matters to me.
So you think you can get the double over city again? đ đ
The never give up attitude of Spurs was visible for the first time in history.
@@abelieve5043 Man City at Etihad last season, Leicester City last season, getting back in the top 4 after being 6 points behibd arsenal in the final 5 matchdays. It was all visible last year too.
Spurs midfield lacks creativity , they don't have midfielders that can carry the ball , open up defences and make incisive passes into the final 3rd , that is a big problem for them
Top, top analysis! I hope these videos give you many opportunities in life!
In future videos, do you think you could point out / give a sense of how long it takes the managers to react to one anotherâs changes?
Sterling's such a frustrating player. Even a Jamaican British lady, I just can't with this guy. He misses so many easy chances. His temperament isn't there. If Chelsea were 3-0 up and cruising like they should've been, he likely would've converted that chance easily to make it 4-0, but with the pressure on, he bottles it.
Chelsea will feel grieved to not have won this match with the decisions that went against them, but really, they had more than enough chances to kill the game before it got to those points. I expect another season of them relying on their defenders for goals.
Listen, Man United might not thank me but get the contract out, put it on the table. Let him sign it, let him write whatever numbers he wants to put on there, given what he's done since he's come in. TEN HAG'S (Ole 4.0) at the wheel, man. He's doing it. He's doing his thing. MAN UNITED ARE BACK!!!
No way you compared ten hag to ole
Man united arenât back because no way conte would leave Tottenham for Man U.
Loftus Cheek is underrated he can be Chelsea's hidden gem this season
Chelsea deserved to win throughout the 90 minutes we just wasn't clinical enough even though there was some sketch referring
At this point whenever Anthony Taylor is the ref we Chelsea fans just accept that it's 11 v 12
@@fishyfish6510
True
@@fishyfish6510 it's actually 11 vs 13 with Mike Dean on VAR
Football is `harsh that way. If you dribble past 11 players and make nice passes it doesn't mean a thing if you are not clinical enough to score the goals. Goals are the currency in football.
Tuchel is brilliant,he gets every tactics spot on when need be

Stop Son and Kane is half the player. James did an absolute job on him. Great going forward and popped up with the goal.
He simply has to start as England's right back. So much more intelligent that TAA too.
Very well detailed analysis. Best video so far this season. đđŻ
A dominant Chelsea performance which got over shadowed by pathetic referring.
Spurs didn't have a single signing on the pitch until the 60th minute and that's when they got back into the game. Perisic, bissouma and Richarlison got spurs back in it.
Anthony Taylor got Spurs into the game. Mike Dean with two beautiful assists
@@aamirscorpio7309 the ref had nothing to do with how you were supposed to defend, both decisions happened in separate plays
@@mrtada8101 so you are saying the foul on havertz and richarlison being offside and blocking mendy's vision did not have any effect on the first goal and cucurella being pulled by the hair by romero wasn't a foul that eventually led to the corner was all defensive mistakes

8 and 7.5 rating is a joke. chelsea were by far the better team both tactically and mentally. and conte's changes were measures to cope with chelsea game plan.
They were the better team. But I think spurs were better mentally and their spirit was high because they were the ones chasing. They scored a header in added time ffs. Great resilience
the chelsea defense looked solid, but they need a striker, sterling is very bad (im a city fan)
Because heâs not a striker lol heâs most effective on the wing

Please kindly can you do Mourinho's AS Roma match analysis (against Juve, Inter or AC Milan). Looks like his is changing his concervative tactics, so curious to see your opinion
There was only one tactical master class. That was Chelsea and Tuchel
nice work man
Really good explaining for. All videos I had
Deep explanation bravo đđ
If Tuchel have a real striker number 9, Chelsea would be a very competitive opponent against MC, and Liverpool this season, since their defender and midfielder are perfect at the moment.
If Ronaldo would start pressing better he's the best option for tuchel
Lol , they moved the real no9 Lukaku to be a better team . In modern Football you need mobile versatile attacking players not lumbering classic 9s who just clog up the space , Sterling fits them perfectly

@@lionstudio9452 You read the game while watching ( take notes ) then use tacticalpad.
tactically both side are great, but pretty obvious they still need some players to complete the cogs.
Mason Mount and Reece James are so so important for Chelsea
Both managers deserve an 8/10 score, they were literally dishing out so much tweaks and evolution of playing with a 3 man system. In fact, both managers did so much experimentation that one could see the delicate equilibrium between a 3 man system and a 4 man system.
Another key actor were the players for both sides. It's one thing for a manager to be brave and move players into an unfamiliar role, it's another for the players to confidently take those roles without proper training and technical know-how.
Big ups to the managers for being able to motivate their players so that whatever system deployed works.
I change my score, they both deserve a 9/10.
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.
Enjoyable tactical battleâœ
Sometimes i wonder if these referees make bets/gamble and then try to alter games in their favor to cash in
Sometimes i i wonder this too. Like they dont do it on purpose its subconscious cuz they got money on the line
Iâm pretty sure players and match officials arenât allowed to bet on games for this very reason.
Maybe in Italy 20 years ago but if you get caught doing that today you're done for
I mean interestingly, it was Conte who's teams were involved with match fixing in Italy đ (Juventus)
@@tiggerk2392 It wasnât Conteâs team, it was a team that Conte has managedâŠ
Great video..
great content.. Spurs fan here but thought Tuchel got his tactis better and adjusted faster to control majority of the game and the goals... But learnt alot here on how conte adjusted and fought back
Conte had the solution in his first half structure itself. Had Perisic started instead of Sessegnon, Spurs would have been a much bigger threat. With James following Son deep, and RLC being pinned wide and high by Sessegnon, Sessegnon would have had a lot of space to exploit and a slow Thiago Silva to take on. Eric Dier has the passing range to make those diagonals as well. Problem is, Sessegnon isn't as great at exploiting space, finishing or beating a man 1v1 as Perisic. If Perisic played in the first half structure, he could have been in on goal a lot of times.
itâs alright itâs still early days. Perisic was saved as Son backup this match. Starting both of them is a risk. The left side would lack in defense.
I did think that Sess and Kulu weren't creative enough to deal with Chelsea's tactics. However, it wasn't the first time the Touchel uses this 4222 tactics. I did thought that Conte will learn more how to confront it. Or to react faster against it. It took time until Richalision Bissoma and Perisic came to change the game. Both goals conceded by Spurs could be stopped with more concetration. Sadly, the pressure was great and the players surrended to it. Thanks.
Spurs had a clear pressing trap for Jorghino which resulted for the first goal. Chelsea often pass to him when in danger, so when he got the ball on the edge of the box, like 4/5 players just swarmed him, leaving him with nowhere to go but a speculative chip, which they took advantage off.
I think this is why Tuchel took him off, to disrupt this pressing trap and to make the Chelsea players think for themselves a bit more rather than being lazy, especially without Kova there.
Chelsea also did a good job of preventing Son or Kane from having much time on the ball and ensured they tailed them.
Also Cucurella, Koulibaly and Jorgnio just make such a crisp passing triangle, then further up the pitch the same with Mount, cucurella and Jorgino, meaning when we got heavily pressed, we tried progressing up the left (which is probably how Conte came to devising that pressing trap in the first place)
anthony taylor must have bet the house on tottenham đ but as a chelsea fan we played some solid football this match
I enjoyed this game.
Can you rate Anthony Taylor too? Jokes aside, great video.

a very tough tactical battlle
Both Cucurella and especially RLC can take on both fullbacks. RLC ran through the whole team on one play

although im a Chelsea fan... and this is against Spurs... i was so exited about what Conte will do and how they will counter each other the whole match... i was rooting for both the manager haha
As a Spurs fan, honestly Chelsea played better
I found myself really frustrated at a lot of poor plays we made but at the end we managed to pull off a goal last minute
We were losing the ball at very unimportant yet still REALLY frustrating times in the midfield
@Football Made Simple Please make a video of Manchester City's game with an inverted wingers' explanation.
James marking Son successfully is the key that spurs got weaken and Conte should have bring perisic in the first place , I was angry when Conte take off son and put perisic because I actually watch this match to see son and perisic chemistry but this video explained everything why Conte take off son good job
Would like to see video analysis for liverpool tactics, two opening games all draw, what could be wrong! Sadio mane?
What app do you use for your analysis?
Tuchel is better than Conte tactically.
I have said this even last two seasons.
The edge Conte have over Tuchel is his ability to prepare a team, physically, mentally and coarse them to work above their limits for a league challenge...
That's the reason he has not won any European trophy, because it's different from a league title....
Tuchel is a European and cup coach.
He can stand against the best tactically.
For example, Chelsea had a poor game at Everton, the media believed Spurs will destroy Chelsea here ,cos of their manager and fitness.
But in this match, Conte was the one following Tuchel tactically here.
Kane, Son, kulusevski were hidden by Tuchel tactically...
Those 3 were supposed to be the highlight of Spurs team...
Chelsea can not finish their chances....the same thing that kept withdrawing them from City and Liverpool.
The same reason they lost two finals to Liverpool last season.
Top top comment here. Facts only đŻ

I think people discredit tuchel for using RLc . But that was a tactical and it proved so
Romero was aggressive alright. He yelled WorldStar after he yanked that corner
I disagree with a lot of people when they say that Tuchel won the tactical battle- in the first half, absolutely but Spurs deserved that draw in the 2nd half, the changes that were made outclassed Tuchel's adaptations and Bissouma and Perisic would've been brought on before the goal if there had been a break in play- Spurs quite rightfully got a draw imo, regardless of what the refs did I think they would've gotten those two goals regardless. Chelsea won the first half, Tottenham won the second
Havertz canât also finish well, they greatly need a striker.
Poor refereeing, clearly favored spurs today
So early the video wonât load
