    That's birlliant man well done !!, Inter is one of the most modern football team in Europe in terms of mobility, intensity, space occupation and global rotation, they get space where there ins't. In Italy they are "unplayable" in Europe they can suprise, despite of the low budget (only at the 4th place for investmenst) they play an amazing football.

    I think another key things that should have been mentioned is the squad depth in defence and midfield (certainly not in attack, sighs).
    Dualities like Carlos Augusto/Di Marco, De Vrij/Acerbi, Pavard/Bisseck, Frattesi/Barella. Cjalanoglou/Asllani, Darmian/Dumfries, now with the addition of Buchanan, have really helped us not only to deal with injuries, but also to seal the games with 3-4 substitutions in the 60-70th minute.

    Nice work. I respect Inzaghi a lot, never expected him to be able to bring Inter to this level, and it is also worth mentioning how less inter has spent last couple of seasons.

    As an Inter fan, as much as I love our team this year, I do see two issues:
    - In some games we have not been cynical enough, mostly because of our 4 attackers this year. Lautaro has some (rare) games where he always seem to make the wrong choice when finishing (see match versus Atletico). Thuram sometimes lacks aggression and arrives on the ball late even when he had a massive advantage on the defender. Arnautovic is suffering from the pressure and is doubting himself too much which results in a lot of missed chances (see Atletico match again), and Sanchez style of play doesn't fit with our current formation. His best game this season was the last one against Lecce where he could focus more on the link up play while Frattesi pushed forward as a seconda punta somewhat.
    - where we have suffered the most has been with high press from young teams that run a lot or very physically fit teams. See for instance the games around Real Sociedad, or the game versus Atletico where they blocked the center of the field effectively neutralising Chalanoglu (who had his worst game of the season imo). Every good manager will have realised this by now, and if we want to perform against big teams in the UCL (If we beat atletico), Inzaghi will have to find an answer to that high press in the first half.

      I see La Real game created some confidence problems for many Inter supporters ☺ I must say though: 1) Real Sociedad are exceptionally good at pressing high, 2) Inter used many rotation players in the first game at Anoeta, 3) Real Sociedad play with a lot of fire at home. 4) Inter played with many other teams who are famous with their high press: Fiorentina, Torino, Salzburg, Benfica, and most of those games went pretty well. 5) And finally even against La Real at Anoeta, Inter eventually somehow didn't lose the game, stayed calm and went until the last minute. I agree with the problem occurring when the opponent man mark Calhanoglu, but Inter offer different solutions, we saw those solutions in Atleti and Roma games. Inter could still create plenty of chances.
      By the way, I also agree with you about your comments on squad depth.

    great analysis.
    this season, inter is a menace. but i think inter needs a bit composure at the front line, where they wasted so many chances.
    also, inter struggles to defend against team with high-paced players since their defenders lack speed.

      @gunturmerdekawan5638 what? Where di we struggle? We didn't struggle in any Bologna game we just let them win in Coppa and in the league Lautaro messed it up and you concede sometimes, name 1 game where Inter looked like losing a game even Sassuolo they looked like winning but simple errors costed them. Other than that they never struggled defensively against any team, Zirkze is not fast paced, Leo is or Chiesa or Pulisic, Zirze is just like Zapata a good player but Inter didn't struggle against him

    Inter's kryptonite is Domenico Berardi ..
    Jokes aside, Inter under Limone can be exposed in transition (if the opponent beat the counter press), since our CBs lack athleticism to cover space .. And our strikers can be stinks up in front of the goal ..
    Others things is pressing team like Real Sociedad for example create the most problem against us this season .. So that's something Demone da Piacenza need to find a solution ..

  • @lw_2

    Hi positional play , If you could name 6 tactical trends currently in world football that you think football fans should know about what would they be?

    • @pstionalplay
      @pstionalplay  Před 3 měsíci

      Regarding out-of-possession strategies, I think the most clear trend is that the teams use man-marking when pressing high. Compact, high-line mid-blocks are also trending. With the ball, box midfield, inverting fullbacks, and 3-2-5 structure have become quite popular since last year. Not trendy but some things I like watching lately are Inter's positional rotations, Leverkusen's central compactness, City's use of the libero role.

    • @lw_2
      @lw_2 Před 3 měsíci

      @@pstionalplay Thanks for replying, Here are some the trends that I’ve heard of Hybrid pressing, CBs inverting into midfield, baiting of the press/generating space, the positives of direct -> counter pressing to by press the first line of engagement lopsided attacking structures, rest defence/attack and relational ideas. What are your thoughts on these tactical trends and what is lopsided attacks and how are they performed and which teams in the premier league use lopsided attacks?

    • @pstionalplay
      @pstionalplay  Před 3 měsíci

      Most of them are used by all teams. Rest defense/attack have become common terms for coaches to consider defending with the ball and attacking without the ball. Similarly, many teams use hybrid pressing, starting with a zonal high press, pushing the ball to one side and turning man marking locally to trap the opponent. In fact, Inter's high press that I mentioned in the video is an example. Baiting became very popular especially De Zerbi's rise, libero CBs with Stones. I have never heard it as lopsided attacking structure, I believe what it means is that asymmetries and overloads. They are becoming more popular as well, especially against back 5s. I like the relationism topic, but although the people who are trying to introduce it have been doing an amazing job, I don't believe many people completely comprehend the game idea behind it, that's why I believe so many people use it a bit inaccurately at this stage, but it is certainly exciting stuff! @@lw_2

    • @lw_2
      @lw_2 Před 3 měsíci

      @@pstionalplay Did Pep invent the CB’s moving into midfield as I only heard about it last season with John Stones? If you could recommend a few football tactics books to help with understanding tactics that we see today which books would you recommend?

    • @pstionalplay
      @pstionalplay  Před 3 měsíci +2

      He certainly didn't invent it. Libero role has been around for a long time. For heavily positional teams, we can certainly consider Van Gaal's use of Rijkaard in Ajax. Actually, even Pep tried it with Busquets when he was at Barca in an el Classico. Later, at City, he tried it with Rodri as well, but it didn't work. I believe it worked very well with Stones because: 1) Pep really saw the value of the use of double pivot after De Zerbi moved to Brighton, 2) Stones can play this role with Rodri as the holding midfielder, 3) Stones can play this role with Ederson, who is incredible with the ball and can be a part of backline in build-up, 4) Rico Lewis, although he is super young and inverted from fullback position, showed what to do when you are inverted to midfielder position, 5) Stones, of course, has great technique and a great understanding of Pep's game.
      Regarding books, to the best of my knowledge, no book contains the latest evolution of football tactics, but I still think you can see a lot of similarities with today's game if you check Jonathan Wilson's, Marti Perarnau's, and Michael Cox's books. Also, you may find Spielverlagerung articles very interesting.
      Cheers! @@lw_2

    BELLISSIMA ANALISI !!!
    Aggiungo l inter e forte da 4 anni ...
    PRIMO anno vice lo scudo ma conte e debole nelle coppe
    SECONDO anno lotta per lo scudo e perde per arbitraggi horror , in europa viene eliminato dal liverpool (inter-liverpool=0-2 ) MA gioca senza barella ( espulso col real madrid in una partita inutile ) nel ritorno liverpool-inter=0-1 MA viene spulso sanchez al 70' altrimenti avrebbe potuto recuperare ...
    TERZO anno parte male in campionato per diversi infortuni e anche qui arbitraggi sfavorevoli , ma l inter era GIA' piu' forte del napoli infatti vince 1-0 a milano ... perde 2-1 a napoli ma l inter gioca in 10 dal 15' minuto e l inter non aveva obbiettivi .... IN EUROPA perde nel girone col bayern monaco MA la 1' giornata gioca con riserve e senza barella (scelta ) , nella 6' giornata perde ma e gia' qualificata e gioca con le riserve ... e arriva in finale e SECONDO ME se gioca dall inizio con lukaku avrebbe vinto la coppa
    QUARTO anno ( questo) in italia domina e batte tutti i record ... in europa fa' un girone non ottimo MA in pochi hanno visto che gioca (tranne col benfica in casa) tutto il girone con le riserve e arriva lo stesso primo ... passa secondo per differenza reti ...
    Quindi ripeto questa inter e forte da 4 anni ... ma da 3 anni con inzaghi e forte anche in europa ... non ha vinto per dettagli ... ma in italia con l inter in meno di 3 anni ha vinto gia' 5 coppe
    Grazie e FORZA INTER !!!!!
