Losing stars & getting STRONGER: Inzaghi & the SECRET to Inter’s refinement

  • Inter Milan have become a formidable team under Simone Inzaghi. After everything pointed toward them getting right back into a brand new banter era following the departures of Lukaku, Hakimi and Antonio Conte, Inzaghi has continued their success. Inter have owned the domestic cups, and pushed Manchester City to the very end of the Champions League final.
    Simone Inzaghi, who couldn’t escape comparisons to his older Filippo during his playing career, has easily eclipsed his elder brother when it comes to his career in football management. Inter are currently the highest scoring team in the top five leagues, and simultaneously have the best defence. They rarely concede goals, and they score goals for fun thanks to Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram, and more. We’ll go over how Inzaghi has constantly lost massive talents from this Inter side each summer, but has managed to improve the team season upon season. As well, we will look at Inzaghi’s Inter tactics, and how his unique approach to a 3-5-2 has made them a nightmare for teams in Italy and the Champions League.

    Inzaghi and Inter are showing different ways of playing football with a new unique style of their 3-5-2. It's refreshing to see compared to many English teams that usually play a 433/4231. Top manager and top team right now. Makes no sense how some people put teams like PSG or Arsenal higher odds to win UCL than Inter.

    Props to Inter for getting a manager like Inzaghi in the first place.
    They brought in a manager who plays the same formation that Conte played, so Inter didn't have to alter any players or buy new ones to fit any new system. Just slightly alter the style of play

      Sorry man, formation is maybe the same but the way 2 squad plaid massively different. Conte tried to play offensive football on his second year, but after few games in which Inter conceded lots of goals to the opponents, he decided to lower 10/15 meters the defensive line, playing basically on counterattack by using the Lukaku physicality and Hakimi's speed as a trigger for score goals. Now a days Inter play different football, using massively the support of the wings and the incursions of the midfielders to facilitate the superiority in the opponent's box, while defensively, pressing,
      re-aggression and early winning the ball are the main concept of actual Inter football theory. All above, is done with extreme intensity and considerable speed. Thanks. Forza Inter

    Then came the derby wins, another final, a supercoppa, then the Coppa Italia after going out on penalties the year before, a team that scored more goals than any of us were used to. I don't use "miracle" lightly. The difference between the day 1 expectations and what he immediately showed, he was more a hero from folklore than a real man.

    What Inzaghi is doing is like an irresistible puzzle. He presents an extremely flexible 3-5-2, and none of the coaches who applied it before with Inter got the same results. Even more strangely, the 3-5-2 formation, which seems easy to stop, has proven unstoppable under Inzaghi. I believe that if Inzaghi and Serie A witness significant development, especially if he wins the Scudetto and the Champions League, we might see the birth of a new and unique football school.
    Inzaghi stands out by making Inter players, with a high level precise ball reception, excel in accurate passing. It's noteworthy that Inter is the team with the fewest individual dribbles in Serie A this season. This showcases Inzaghi's level of collective thinking, as he has turned all 22 starting players into a cohesive system, ready to adapt at any time and under any circumstances. This is something I haven't seen with any other coach.
    Inzaghi's Inter is giving birth to a new school that competes with the schools of Guardiola, Klopp, and Mourinho. It's good to see an English-language video discussing Inter, as there is unfortunately significant neglect of Serie A despite it being one of the top leagues tactically and technically

    Inzaghi has changed the way the game is played and “managed”. Interesting enough o saw some introspective works done on his management style. He uses a number of micro managers/trainers (apparently 9-10 of them) whose functions are the following: train different sections of the squad, observe the different sections of the opposing team and the individual players before the matches, observe the different sections of the opposing team and report live to the trainer(Inzaghi during the match itself). None of this is actually new but it is the sheer size , depth and coordination of this apparatus which is the innovation itself.
    Many times Inzaghi is able to read the match and change its course thanks to this a innovative organization.

    I can't really explain it well, but every inter game they do this sequence of passes to play out of the back from the wing back to the CM then the striker comes down and chips the ball over the defenders and there's always a free runner down the wing. They do it EVERY game and it's so satisfying to watch when its executed.

    A very well done analisys! As a "Inter-ista" I can teel you, we are all astonished with the level reached by our team. Honestly, we had some doubts about Inzaghi at the beginning, but we have to admit he's doing a great job. as an inter fan, this is a really good analysis. Even getting the banter era and limone right and the feeling most fans had with the arrival of simone.
    One thing you mentioned about the possibility of changing players in the back without losing a lot of quality goes for other positions too.
    Both wingbacks can be changed with dumfires and carlos augusto and the quality stays nearly the same. In the middle asslani and frattesi can jump in and make the machine work like nothing changed. Only in attack, we are a bit more limited. But with the signing of Taremi that problem should be solved too.
    If inter manages to find a new second keeper and sub for Thuram, with the arrival of Taremi and Zielinski inter will have two squads that could win the scudetto.

    When Pavard had rumers to leave Bayern, a lot of Inter fans hope to get him and I'm super excited that it came true, thanks to Lukaku's betrayal. His talent in offensive side is a great improvement compared with Skriniar, and he got his favorite RCB position at Inter. This is a much better transfer than buying out Lukaku. At this point, with 12pts advantage in the league, Inter can put more resource in UCL. Inter will be a great competitor to Real Madrid and Man City.

    Really good video, I really like the emphasis on how we lost some of our most important players and all of this seemed unthinkable. People who don't watch serie a won't realize that without Skriniar or Brozo we thought our defence and then midfield were doomed. I mean while we had Brozo, if he didn't play we struggled like crazy. And Skriniar, what to say about him, trust me when I say we thought he was the best defender on earth. I didn't talk about Lukaku and Hakimi but in 20/21, they were probably Inter's 2 best players, they were unplayable, so that was heavy too. And Onana ofc too. I would've mentioned Perisic as well, who looked irreplaceable in his role after 21/22

    • @garyanderton
      @garyanderton Před 2 měsíci +2

      To state Zidane does not have well known tactics is repeating a lie. When Ronaldo left and he had an ageing squad, he started pushing Casemiro further forward to initiate runs from deep. He subsequently won la Liga. and reached the CL semi during a season which he had 65+ injuries. That takes tactics, not vibes

    • @dzemilmehovic5271
      @dzemilmehovic5271 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@garyanderton Zidane is tactically top notch. People confuse tactics with strategy, just coz he doesnt have one set way of playing or speaks abt tactics with complicated terms doesnt mean he doesnt have tactics. His ingame changes,subs and adjustments are class. His subs and formation changes midgame almost always made difference in big games. For example switching to 442 midgame vs PSG in 2018 first leg and putting Asensio on made the difference but no one talked abt it. Or in that period him winning 3 tough games in a row with 3 different formations

    • @pritapp788
      @pritapp788 Před 2 měsíci +2

      Inzaghi honed those tactics for 5 years at Lazio, nothing to do with Conte. Conte was a classic low-block 3-5-2 formation with lightning fast breaks. Current Inter have way more variety, players like Calhanoglu and Mkhitaryan allow them to be patient in possession when needed.
